Well, at the rate they’re going, it’s looking like sometime in 2006 I might finally get to the reading of my “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” book. I suppose I could go out and buy the Azkaban and the Goblet of Fire books, to fill in the story before the Phoenix, but I’m lazy enough to just wait for those movies to get released. No, I didn’t read the first two books either, and I guess I just got swept up in the hype of it all, my buying the Phoenix book, but I did find the first two movie installments quite entertaining, even if I thought they might be a little too intense for some of the youngins that were in the theater. Oh well, what about “the Prisoner of Azkaban?”

Well, this should be a little interesting namely because we’ve got a new director on board for the movie. The first two were directed by Chris Columbus, but this one’s got Alfonso Cuaron, critically known for the movie “amores perros” with his biggest hit prior being the 1998 version of “Great Expectations.”

Odds are you’ve probably already read the book, but if you haven’t, pretty much Azkaban is the prison for bad wizards. When Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) escapes, he’s a mass murderer, things aren’t good for our older Harry, especially since it seems Sirius is after Harry. There are also these things called Dementors that are guards hired to protect Hogwarts and Harry, but Harry doesn’t like them.

I’m guessing Sirius has something to do with Harry’s past, but I’m just reaching there. What we can most likely expect is another great movie in what is becoming one behemoth of a franchise. I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully Cuaron doesn’t mess it up.

That’s it for this preview! I’m The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
