Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Relaxing for the 4th, Airport Travel, Beach Tales, and the Chicago Cubs
By:
The Dude on the Right
While I was seeing most of a Chicago Cubs game, Stu Gotz was in Florida getting sunburned, so for this “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast we discuss our time apart, me in The Windy City and him in The Sunshine State. With his airport travels, Stu had some interesting stories to tell about idiot travelers and watching “Psyche” on the plane, while, even though I might be getting to old to hang in the bleachers at Wrigley Field, there is usually something more entertaining than the baseball game, and last Friday’s game was no different with “Mr. Popularity.”
As weekends go, Florida had sun and The Gotz Family, while Chicago had smiley fireworks and my BFF. For the hell of it Stu has some comments about The Hedgehog, Ron Jeremy, I relived a little bit of my fraternity days, and Stu said there was some weird boycott of Zynga games on Facebook though it wasn’t about Farmville like I thought, but some grumpiness about Vampire Wars that I still don’t understand. At least we both have “Bruno” to look forward to next weekend!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The SCUBA Junkman, Lawn Maintenance, Mini-Cornhole-ing, and Transformers!
By:
The Dude on the Right
I must apologize because somehow our podcast was possessed by Rush Limbaugh, or actually AM 890 here in Chicago, with it just mysteriously invading our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast recording, but Stu and I plow through some technical difficulties for fun and good times under the sun and in the theater. With the weather nice and my BFF needing some lawn work done, I am more than happy to let Stu know that at that time, the John Deere sprinkler was working as advertised. So, as I was getting some sun, Stu was hawking some old SCUBA stuff he had, and lucky for him he did his selling before the SCUBA junkman showed up. And with the nice weekend here in Chicago, Stu was able to spend some quality time with the little Gotz's playing the bean bag game (no, Stu didn't cornhole his kids), and me, I took cover with the BFF to see "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." I tell Stu if he should see the movie, he tells me that his kids did see the movie and it is definitely PG-13 land. Stu, meanwhile, saw "Year One" and says it makes a nice rental down the road, we talk a little TV (Stu hated "Merlin").
Ahh, a podcast invaded by radio waves, an explanation to not underestimate the power of "Transformers," and Stu feels the wrath of religious Facebook friends - What more could you ask for?

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A 50th Anniversary, A Father's Day, A New iPhone, and Movies!
By:
The Dude on the Right
It was weird talking to Stu Gotz for this episode of the "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast because I had a great Father's Day, and I'm not even a dad unless you consider Milo, our dog, while Stu, who is a dad, with human children, had a Dad's Day that left a lot to be desired. I got some bubble tea (twice), saw "The Proposal" with my BFF," and bought the new iPhone 3GS, while Stu, well, he pretty much got some cards. Kinda a bummer for him, but a great weekend for me, and I brag to him all about it! Yup, along with some new toys and enjoying some quality time with my BFF on Sunday, I got to meet one of our biggest podcast fans at the 50th Anniversary party of my future in-laws, as well as see a tornado of moths. Stu, well, on opposite spectrum, he tore down a gazebo, set up a kiddie pool, saw a blah movie, and had his TV recordings erased before he could see them. Maybe next year the kids will make him breakfast, Mama Gotz will rub his feet, and he'll be at a Cubs game, or something cool like that. At least he has "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" opening up this week to keep him happy.
All of that and more in this podcast episode! Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Drinking & Jelly, The Hangover & Up, Flight Attendants and Underwear, with Patti and John
By:
The Dude on the Right
I have to say that when Stu Gotz opened up this “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast saying he needed a back-brace, a corset, and a Taiwanese basket, I was a little worried that somehow I might be involved in something kinky, instead we find out that Stu is getting old and he thinks he might even be too old for a drinking party across the pond thanks to the students of Cambridge University and the makers of jelly. But our weekends had nothing to do with drinking and jelly, nope, we discuss some “The Hangover,” even if it has been out in the theaters over a week. And, what the heck, to stay current, I tell Stu if “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” is any good and give my recommendation if you should spend the extra couple of bucks to see the 3-D version of “Up.” The Sarah Palin v David Letterman boxing match brought some discussion of flight attendants, with Stu letting me in on a secret a week too late, and why not, let’s talk some TV, where I guess I got it wrong after watching this week’s episodes of “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here,” that it won’t be Lou Diamond Phillips getting it on with Patti Blagojovich after the series, as I state during the podcast, but from the looks of things, here comes John Salley for the steal. Poor Rob!
All of that and more in this podcast episode! Thanks for listening!
That's it for this one! I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
And a Dude note: Yea, yea, I know this podcast is a tad late in getting posted, it being Thursday when I’m posting it and all, but I do have a good reason and might announce it during next week’s podcast. Then again I might not, and the way Stu has been acting lately, I might be looking for a new podcast partner. Any takers?

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Hangover, Terminator, Idle Hands, and Bonne Terre Mines
By:
The Dude on the Right
I'm back from Houston-town so Stu Gotz and I can get back into "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcasting mode, and Stu starts out bummed that his favorite Irish Pub, well, as Irish as an American Irish Pub can be, is closed, that pub being Galway Tribes in Frankfort, IL. But as we get to our weekend talk, Stu tells of his travels to Bonne Terre, MO, to go scuba diving in some abandoned lead mines. He had a good time and posted a YouTube video, and tells the tale of the donkeys that go blind. His diving aside, we get into some movie talk with Stu revisiting "Idle Hands" and a "naked" Jessica Alba via a body double, while I let Stu know that a couple of 5 star movies for him to see are "Up" for the kids and "The Hangover" for the adults. I do my best not to give any spoilers for "The Hangover," and let Stu know how the weekend box office went with a bomb in the making of "Land of the Lost," complete with our analysis.
We continue with a little bit of TV talk and my getting sucked into "I'm a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here," and I also set up some topics for next week because I forgot to tell Stu about my being Pretty Woman and how I should have been in San Francisco for the announcement of the new iPhone. Oh well, I suppose it will wait.
All of that and more in this podcast episode! Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Pork-Fest Weekend, Night at the Museum, Grilling, and Gay, Deaf Bikers.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Most people were celebrating Memorial Day over the weekend, but not me and my BFF - nope, it was Pork-Fest Weekend, and I tell Stu all about it during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. Now before you have your mind in the gutter, much like Stu, we're talking about pork products, ranging from brats to ribs tickling our taste buds, which leads to Stu Gotz lamenting some grilling woes thanks to a bird. Stu, did, over the weekend, get to see "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," and lets me know all about it and if I should take the BFF to see it, while I tell Stu about my observation of members of a gay, deaf, biker gang. Okay, they might not have been members of a biker gang, but they did come off as gay, were definitely hard of hearing, and were taking in the sites of Millennium Park in Chicago over the weekend.
And with it being an extended weekend, I hip everyone to helpful hint to stop your house from burning down, Stu caught up on some TV viewing, and both of us are looking forward to seeing "Up" next weekend.
All of that and more in this podcast episode! Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Birthday Weekend Part II, The House of Mouse, Star Trek, and Angels & Demons
By:
The Dude on the Right
Gosh, I’m really hating my Apple MacBook, or maybe I should be blaming Garage Band, or maybe it’s just my own screwing up, but there are some drop-outs during this episode of “Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast, so I apologize. This episode, though, with me celebrating my BFF’s birthday, most of it is about me, and Stu is getting sick of our lovey-dovey relationship (what is wrong with two people having the same ringtone?). Stu and I also do some movie talk, with him finally catching up with “Star Trek,” and I give my take on “Angels & Demons.” Stu wonders what happened with the Jennifer Aniston/Steve Zahn flick, “Management,” that neither of us saw, and with TV wrapping up, it’s also time to enjoy nature, although I think Stu had his fill of nature with Mom Nature causing travel woes for him back from Mickey’s House, while the BFF and I planted some flowers. Lastly, but not leastly, I tell Stu that if he likes Soft-Shell Crabs, or Crab Cakes, he should be getting his butt over to SugarToad because they have the best crab dishes (and a kick-ass steak) that I’ve ever tasted.
Next week we might talk about “Terminator: Salvation,” or the “Night at the Museum” sequel, or maybe both.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Birthday, Camping, Cubs, and Apprenticing.
By:
The Dude on the Right
As "Celebrity Apprentice" is winding down, and since both Stu Gotz and I are big fans, during this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast we give our analysis of the upcoming finale with Joan Rivers and Annie the Poker Dudette, and how we both sort of wish it were Jesse James instead of Ms. Rivers. We really don't care that much about Donald Trump, so rather than him we mostly talk about our weekends, as we are really supposed to do.
Stu, well, he took the Gotz family to Jellystone Campground in Somewhere, IL, and enjoyed the time going to see Yogi Bear. Somehow he also had Mama Gotz watching "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." Me, it was my birthday weekend, and along with a Chicago Cubs game on Saturday, my Birthday day on Sunday was spent with some quality time with my BFF, a new remote control (she knows me so well), and I even share some awesome chocolate cake, made by my BFF, with The Gotz family.
Neither of us saw the "Wolverine" movie, I'm hoping to see "Star Trek" next weekend, and Stu Gotz will be hanging with Mickey Mouse for a spell next week so we'll see when we talk again!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! No Swine Flu, Dirty Uniforms, Movies, a Brickhouse, and Jesse James.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Neither Stu Gotz nor myself have Swine Flu, at least not yet, so why not podcast during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" about it. Yup, we're not Doctors, and we don't play them on TV, but we sure seem to know a lot about this Pig Virus hitting Mexico and also its effect on the financial markets. But as the flu was hitting people over the weekend, I went to another Confirmation and think maybe I should start reviewing religious events, while Stu got a chuckle at the T-Ball Newbie parents and their not understanding the concept that baseball jerseys are meant to get dirty. The weather also helped keep the both of us inside where I saw "Role Models" again (and highly recommend it), while Stu caught "Leatherheads" and agrees with me on how good it might be. Stu found a restaurant called The Brickhouse that I won't be taking my BFF to visit, my BFF showed me she can cook some kick-ass ribs, and both Stu and I are fascinated with Jesse James on Celebrity Apprentice, but for different reasons. See, we don't always think alike!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Seeing the Chicago Cubs, Seeing 17 Again, Seeing Slumdog Millionaire, and Seeing More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Another Weekend Wrap-Up! podcast, so it must be a Monday, or, well, it's at least Monday, and traffic aside, I finally meet up with Stu Gotz to talk about many a thing. There is the thing like The Gotz Family at The Chicago Cubs' game where Stu witnessed a seagull invasion while me, I got to see the Zac Efron film, "17 Again," where I saw glimpses of Matthew Perry being a great actor. Stu was able to catch "Slumdog Millionaire" via his Netflix queue, so we have a Netflix movie to chat about, and my Blu-ray player is finally hooked up with the inaugural movie not being "The Dark Knight," not being "Ironman," but "The Secret Life of Bees." Stu, of course, makes fun of me for this, but at least I got to see Donald Trump bust on Jesse James during "Celebrity Apprentice" over the weekend. Hey, we also talk about pretty girls, namely discussing the "Miss U.S.A." pageant a tad.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Sandusky, OH., Naperville, IL., Observe and Report, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Well, our Weekend Wrap-Up! podcast is a day late because Stu Gotz got stuck in Sandusky, OH, thanks to his "tenement on wheels," also known as The Gotz RV, taking a crapper on The Ohio Turnpike. With Cedar Point still being closed for the season, lucky for him there were a batch of hotels with indoor water parks attached, and The Gotz Family spent Easter at Castaway Bay where they ended up making the best of things. So, for Stu, pretty much his weekend was all about traveling the highways and byways of our great land. Me, on the other hand, spent some quality time on Saturday afternoon with my BFF, hanging in downtown Naperville, IL, and then the both of us catching "Observe and Report." We also did some church-going on Easter Sunday, I'm still the "Crack-the-Egg" champ, and I tell Stu about my Facebook addiction, namely Pirates, and now Hatchlings and Mafia Wars. I'm also addicted to Mafia Wars on my iPhone, so feel free to join my iPhone Mafia crew (My player ID is: 5203 1552 22).
Hopefully our vehicles will be in driving order next week so our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" will be on time, and maybe I'll check if The W.G.N. is free this Thursday for a podcast, although he might be partying it up on Spring Break. We'll see!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Being Tired, Adventureland Talk, and The Dude Can't Mix Crap.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Well wouldn't you know it, Stu Gotz and I come up with a "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast with not one, but two technical difficulties. But that's okay, because we make them meld together seemlessly, in fact we talk about so much stuff that you probably wouldn't even notice if it wasn't for us pointing them out. Now as for what we talk about, how about this list:
- The movie "Adventureland"
- A sick dog that likes to lick carpet
- The return of "Rescue Me"
- The movie "Monsters v Aliens"
- The ALL commercials on "Celebrity Apprentice"
- Wishing Farrah Faucett get well wishes
I would get more creative about what is in the podcast, but really, I'm tired, just want to take a nap, and if you listen to the podcast you will find out why. Hey, I suppose "Why I'm so tired" should be in the above list.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! (Sort Of): Hangin' With no Drug Lords, Kidney Stones, Idol Talk, and Underwear in a Bag
By:
The Dude on the Right
With my being in Mexico and not finding any drug lords, there wasn't time for a "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast on Monday, so instead we get a Thursday podcast with Stu Gotz. As most of my time for the past week has been being spent on vacation, I give Stu my initial take on the resort my BFF and I stayed at, Dreams Villamagna, where we didn't hear any gunfire but did find that it took too long to get food and that typos can be funny. And me, not being the seasoned traveler, get confirmation that you should take a bag to put your dirty underwear, as my BFF instructed me. I found that I hated the "reserving your lounge chair with a towel" status quo, and thankfully I didn't get diarrhea, but damn, did I fart a lot!
Stu, meanwhile, had his own issues while I was off gallivanting the Mexican countryside, or at least laying on a beach, namely that he got some internal distress with self-diagnosed kidney stones, and discovered a homeopathic remedy of lemon juice and olive oil does sort of work, but with some consequences.
Lastly, without seeing any movies in the theater, I give Stu my take on "Rachael Getting Married" with Anne Hathaway, while we both do some discussing of "American Idol" and the booting of Megan Joy.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Got Junk, The BSG Finale, March Madness, and F.F.W.D.-P.P.O. Syndrome.
By:
The Dude on the Right
As my BFF is kicking my ass in some March Madness bracket games, I'm surprised I even have the desire to talk to Stu Gotz, but alas, we sit together, along with one of the Little Gotz's, for this fun-filled podcast episode of Stu & The Dude's "Weekend Wrap-Up!" I give Stu a quick review of "I Love You, Man," which I would really like to sit down and write a full blown review, but alas, I also tell Stu how home remodeling is turning my life topsy-turvy
and introducing me and my BFF to a junk company called "1-800-Got-Junk" that did a great job taking my junk even though they did leave their own junk behind. I also rant to Stu about my experience at church on Sunday and how times like that in church just make me want to quit going and hang out with nature. Stu, luckily, talks me down, and shifts topics to the fact that I'm not watching TV, even missing the "Battlestar Galactica" final, although he does give me a bit of his take on how the series ended.
Stu also questions how "Lover's Lane" and a Modest Wear for Muslim Women store share the same strip mall, and he finally has discovered "Fu-Fu Wimpy Dog - Psycho Pet Owner" Syndrome thanks to Peaches Gotz getting herself fixed (Bob Barker would be proud). That, and as always, more, in a quick twenty minutes of excitement.
That's it for this one! I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
Dude Note: Sorry for the delay in getting this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" posted. A previous tweet explained it is due to dust and other shit. Part of that "other shit" was due to my losing my keys, which might have been a little pay-back from the Big Guy for my podcast ranting. Thankfully my BFF is still on His good side. Anywho, here's a slightly delayed posting of Stu and my podcast that we recorded on Monday. DOTR

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! FedEx & Starbucks Woes, Fun at Disney, Parties, TV, and a Scrumpy's Can Huggy.
By:
The Dude on the Right
I forgot to give Stu Gotz my March Madness picks during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but that's okay because we had a whole bunch of stuff to talk about. What was there for us to talk about? Well, I'm mad at FedEx for their inability to deliver a package, Stu is mad at Starbucks because of their garbage policy, neither of us will be getting any money from Tyson Chicken, , and we secure why the little Gotz's shouldn't play soccer; I am throwing out a lot of stuff (including a classic, Scrumpy's can huggy) and slowly turning the Dude-Pad into a Dude & Dudette-Pad, Stu celebrates being 41 at Disney, my Blu-ray player is still in its box, and Stu likes Bread Pudding; We are both watching "Celebrity Apprentice," I'm not watching "Battlestar Galactica" but should be, Stu comforted a little-one through a trip to the dentist, and neither of us are going to stop calling The Sears Tower, well, The Sears Tower.
Sure, that should be enough, but what the hell, let's give a little "American Idol" talk during this podcast, too!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Adult Toys, Watchmen, March Madness, Jim Cantore, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
As another weekend has past, Stu Gotz was gracious enough to grace me with his presense so that we could do a "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and even though I start by telling Stu if he should have joined me to see "Watchmen" or not, the talk heats up as we discuss devices neither of us are buying from The Vermont Country Store. I suppose I should throw out a warning that part of this podcast deals with massagers, and I'm not talking about those that pretend they are for your back, so be advised that we have a little more risque talk than normal.
So, buying stuff from a country store aside, Stu got a call from Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel as there happened to be a tornado warning in Gotz-Land, I saw "The House Bunny" and should probably write a review about it, a member of the Gotz clan was under the weather, and I'm ready for March Madness baby - ready to become a millionaire!
And lastly but not leastly, believe it or not we discuss the film career of Dwayne Johnson, whom you might remember as The Rock, who doesn't seem to want to be The Rock anymore, and although, in the past, I used to sway people to use the Dwayne Johnson moniker, well, I think now I'm just going to always refer to him as The Rock. I suppose I'll call him The Rock at least until I meet him in person, then it will probably be "Nice to meet you Mr. Johnson. I didn't know you were such a good singer and dancer." Oh yea, one more thing, Stu gives his advice on some iPhone/iTouch apps.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Casimir Pulaski & Dupa's, Square Roots and Pi's, The Bachelor and BSG, iMacs and Flooring, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sure, this Stu & The Dude “Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast is a day late, but since yesterday was Casimir Pulaski Day, both Stu and I were celebrating our people. We tried to justify not getting any work done today, it being Square Root Day and all, but figured we should at least try to podcast, especially since Stu is sort of lonely with Mama Gotz on the east coast.
First off, I'd like to give a hugemoungous "Shout-Out" to my Sis who follows the weight-loss plan I profess, but in my advice terms, she does as I say, not as I do. Next up for me, doing what I say, not what I do, and doing what my sister does, thus becoming svelte. Good job, Sis!
Anywho, with Mama Gotz gone, Stu has been torn about catching up on his TV viewing, with his shows like Battlestar Gallactica and Burn Notice, while Mama was away, but he finally, over the weekend, said “Screw it!” and started his catching up. Me, I didn’t see any movies in the theaters (although this upcoming weekend has “Watchmen” opening, which I’m planning on seeing solo – with a review next Saturday), although I did catch the DVD of “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” “Henry Poole is Here,” and in Owen Wilson marathon fashion, sort of, I also caught the end of “Old School.” TV side, I regale Stu with my re-enactment of “The Bachelor” finale (and realizing that Jerry Taft, Meteorologist Extraordinaire in Chicago, is very witty thanks to Twitter), with Jason picking Melissa and Molly, and even though new iMacs are out, I explain to Stu that other things are taking precedent over a new computer right now, that is until I win the Mega Millions jackpot tonight!
All of that, and more! Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Getting Domestic, Oscar Talk, SCUBA, and Playboy for the Articles
By:
The Dude on the Right
Since it's the day after The Academy Awards, Stu Gotz and I get together for our podcast and have Oscar talk for our “Weekend Wrap-Up!” Well, we don’t have Oscar talk right away, first I get pummeled by Stu, and Mama Gotz from afar, for being domestic by being “Frank the Tank,” even though we incorrectly reference the Will Ferrell character from "Old School" as "Hank the Tank," (yea, go ahead and pummle the both of us for screwing that up, and yes, I am ashamed at myself) with my trip to Lowe's and Bed, Bath & Beyond with the BFF over the weekend. And then comes our Oscar talk.
We both have our thoughts about The Academy Award broadcast, thought there were some decent moments, both wonder why there were only three nominees for best song, and I thought the making fun of Joaquin Phoenix was a little much, although very funny. And as movie reviewers, we found it totally odd that neither of us have seen “Slumdog Millionaire” yet, even though my BFF has, and both think Goldie Hawn should just accept her age and strive to be the hot, older lady.
Stu did see some movies, though, liking, as I did, “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay,” liking “He’s Just Not That Into You” more than me, and he was bummed he missed Friday night at the “Our World Underwater” SCUBA Expo with his Bonica friend.
Me, sadly with the domestic shopping, there wasn’t any time for new movies over the weekend, though I did catch “Hitch” (I need to really thank Will Smith one day for that movie) on TV Saturday night, and I did attend a Confirmation ceremony on Friday evening which made me wonder about proper "Confirmation" attire.
And finally, our podcast also includes another installment of “I Read Playboy for The Articles” segment. It's about Governor Sarah Palin and a turkey.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Valentine's Day, Lots of Movies, and Not Spoiling SNL - much.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz is back from vacation so I've got a partner again for our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and what better way to start than with a discussion about Valentine's Day, my meal fit for a King, some differences in what might have been in a box, and that people should be out buying mattresses. But enough about love and mattresses, we also discuss a ton of movies with Stu seeing "The Love Guru," "Semi-Pro," "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," and "Hotel for Dogs," while I saw "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," and "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." And in some blast-from-the-past viewing, Stu caught "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the movie not the TV series, and was able to pick out a young Ben Affleck as "Basketball Player #10." Finally, I do my best not to ruin two very funny Saturday Night Live skits from over the weekend, one about the "Sir Mix-A-Lot's Photo Shop" and the other having Alec Baldwin playing Wii.
Who knows what next weekend will bring, but you can be sure to find about it next week during a new episode!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Groundhog Day, a Super Bowl, Disney is Dirty, and Playboy For the Articles!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz is back, and then Stu Gotz will be gone, and then Stu Gotz will be back, and then, well, since it's Groundhog Day, and Stu Gotz is back, or is he gone, well, I decided that the opening of our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast needed to honor the tradition of the movie "Groundhog Day." But this podcast isn't all about repeating ourselves for Groundhog Day, nope, it was also the ending of Super Bowl weekend, and both Stu (crappy mic for this podcast and all) and I, and my BFF, and the little Gotz's watched it, with my viewing being a lot more exciting than Stu's thanks to a safety, a touchdown, and cheering on two pickets to Tittsburgh, I mean, the Pittsburgh Steelers, even over the phone with my BFF. Stu wanted to analyze the Super Bowl commercials (he liked the Teleflora one), even though I didn't pay that much attention to the commercials, but at least I did get my website updated to the year 2009. We talk about TV stuff and I sort of ruin "Chuck" for Stu. I'm such a dick!
Along with the Super Bowl and T.V., Stu is having trouble with Google thinking he is German, I'm happy Manuary is over, and Stu, during his last visit to Disney World, was disappointed that Disney World is getting dirty, maybe thanks to some job cuts, and also parents not beating their kids for spitting out gum. We also talk some movie, with "He's Just Not That Into You" opening this week, and our feature of "I read Playboy for the articles" is back, since, well, I got my new issue of Playboy. And, oh yea, read Stu's video review of "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Chipettes."

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Lot of Movies, Manuary has Changed The Dude, and The Golden Globes
By:
The Dude on the Right
Manuary is starting to change me, especially as I tell Stu Gotz about my weekend during this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast. I let Stu know about my exercising, a trip to Nordstom's, going to the movies to see "Bride Wars," and watching a couple of DVD's, "Funny Face" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's," all with my BFF. I have to say I was a bit surprised at Stu suggesting he just needed to drag me to Hooters and not to some other place with hooters, but maybe it was because I let him know that I found Audrey Hepburn as a very pretty dudette so there might still be hope for me this Manuary, especially if I stop shaving. The exercising topic reminded Stu of a 5K that Mama Gotz is looking to run/trot/walk in, as well as some old clothes she is trying to wear, and he didn't head to the movies but gives his reason why he can't recommend "Eagle Eye," although he does think little kids, both boys and girls, will like "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Chipettes."
With the Golden Globe Awards yesterday, we also talk about those, with Stu enjoying Tina Fey's win, although not her dress, and Stu does his best to try to convince me to watch TV shows on cable, although with Battlestar Galactica returning this Friday, there will be one cable show I'll be watching.
No matter what TV I'll be watching, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Merriness ,Movies, MacWorld, Manuary, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
It's a new year, and I couldn't believe it but the Gotz Children saw it arrive,
and that's just one thing Stu Gotz and I discuss during
this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. So, sure, there's some New
Year's Eve and Day talk, including my analysis of Chicago's ABC Channel 7 New
Year's Eve Countdown with Janet Davies and Mark Giangreco, but mostly we talk a
lot about movies, especially with the extended weekend we both had. Stu
talks a tad more about "Bedtime Stories," gives his take on "The Tale of
Despereaux," and he and Mama Gotz also watched
"Ghost Town" on DVD (Stu's not a big Tea Leoni fan), while I explain to Stu
how my Manuary started with me getting weepy during
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Marley & Me," and "Young @ Heart,"
while
"The Duchess" probably had my Manuary card revoked. Movies aside, I
also explain to Stu my excitement because Tuesday is the opening of the Macworld
conference (I'm hoping for a new iMac, iPhone with more storage, and am curious
about the iPhone Nano rumors) and also explain why Steve Jobs won't be there
because of his health issues.
The podcast also includes our new "I Subscribe to Playboy for the Articles" segment. I was hoping this feature would allow Stu to convince Mama Gotz that he should be able to re-subscribe to Playboy so he doesn't have to borrow mine, but after the segment, I don't think that's going to happen.
It's a fun start to the new year, and with the new year, as always, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Christmas Talk, an Asshole in a Maserati Talk, but no Oprah Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Last week I blamed Mama Gotz for not letting Stu be able to have time to do a
podcast with me, so for
this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, well, Mama Gotz decided to show up and kick
my ass. Okay, she didn't want to kick my ass, but she does make a guest
appearance to talk about Christmas at the Gotz's, which is nice. But since
Stu and I are the stars of the show, we don't give Mama Gotz much air-time, so
instead Stu and I talk about an asshole who pulls up in his Maserati at
Starbucks, and a lot about Christmas. Stu and the family saw "Bedtime
Stories" with Adam Sandler, I saw chick-flicks with my BFF, and I tell Stu about
some of the gift exchanges my BFF and I had for Christmas. I question Stu
if it's appropriate for Santa Claus to show up during Christmas mass, Stu
wonders what someone bought at Walgreens, I'm bummed the Chicago Bears suck, but
through it all we don't talk about Oprah not pumping her own gas.
With this being our last podcast of 2008, thanks for listening! And from Stu Gotz and me, 'nuff said, and that's it for this one! Happy New Year!

What's for Dinner, It's Cold, and No Stu :-(
By:
The Dude on the Right
I'm blaming Mama Gotz for Stu not being able to join me for a
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and I'm sure much to the delight (sarcasm
implied) of our staff member,
The
Mystery Dude, I'm flying solo. I don't really change much of what I
was going to talk to Stu about, with such topics as alternate meal plans for
your Holiday dinner table, seeing the movie
"Yes Man," how cold it is here in Chicagoland, and Christmas is coming!
Hooray!
I also wanted to discuss with Stu the myriad of movies opening this Christmas weekend, with the likes of "The Curious Case of Mork from Ork," umm, I mean, Benjamin Button, "The Spirit," "Valkyrie," "Marley & Me," and Adam Sandler finding a desire to make a children's movie, so he has "Bedtime Stories" coming out. What would a podcast from Illinois be without more talk of our Governor, Rod Blagojevich, and even though the Chicago Bears didn't play as of podcast recording time, it's still football season so why not some Bear talk, too?
I am saving a "Why didn't I think of that" moment for my next podcast with Stu, so you've got that to look forward to.
So much more, Holiday wishes to all of you, and as always, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Lousy Audio, Airport Travels, A Polar Express, and An Abrupt Ending
By:
The Dude on the Right
Our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast gets off to a smashing start, with my not
being able to speak and Stu Gotz reminding me that it was a Honda in
"The Day the Earth Stood Still," but for some reason my headset starts
going haywire, thus leading to some strange sounding audio and an apologetic
ending. But in the meantime we did get to talk about some things. I
got to tell Stu about my trip to New Jersey where I used my iPhone as my
boarding pass, how People Magazine is disgusting, and while he tells me about
his trip to
Enchanted
Castle with the Little Gotzes, well, I let Stu know that I've been there
as well when I was in college. Stu's weekend was all about being with Mama
Gotz and the Little Gotzes, with said trip to the Castle, but even more in step
with Christmas was a ride on The Polar Express, a train ride in Illinois to The
North Pole, or maybe just Aurora, complete with Santa and some hot looking
elves.
Since our podcast is cut short a bit, I was unable to tell Stu about my watching "It's a Wonderful Life," nor give a shout-out to my BFF's sister and family, nor let Stu know that I have a visitor for part of the week, who likes to do my hair and it's not my BFF. I guess the picture here will have to do.
So much more, a little less, but as always, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Fraternity Dinner, TV Talk, and Girls in Skimpy Outfits
By:
The Dude on the Right
Back from an extended weekend of fun with old friends, well, most of this
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast is about Stu and I getting together with
friends that we have been friends with for over twenty years, mostly thanks to
our fraternity days in a place called Theta Xi. We've been having these
Christmas (or P.C. correct "Holiday") parties for years, and as the years are
going by, most of us don't have the stamina to party until closing time anymore.
Instead, well, we find ourselves tired and just decide to head back to our hotel
rooms and go to bed.
The years have also brought about some change in locations for food and drink, where "English" has taken the place of "Hooters," for lunch on Friday, for some reason we seem to like "Reagle Beagle," and a festive dinner happened at "Tavern at the Park" where people came in from Florida, New Jersey, Minnesota, and places around the world, or at least around Chicago.
We also talk about the Chicago Bears, TV (I really like the show "Chuck,") and Stu and Mama Gotz caught up on old movies like "Bring It On," "Stick It," and the really old (yet coming this weekend new) "The Day the Earth Stood Still," while Stu is worried about the Jim Carrey movie coming out, "Yes Man," namely that it might suck because of all of the publicity it is getting.
So much more, so much less, but as always, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Black Friday, A Walnut Room, Painting, Gambling, Movies, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
As
we are slowly getting recording our podcast on my MacBook laptop a little more
consistent, it was kind of weird because as much as this was a long weekend for
the both of us with Turkey-Day involved, I still wonder why
our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast is usually about the same things.
Stu, well, with the holiday, started getting the Little Gotz's involved in science with a trip to the "Museum of Science and Industry" in Chicago, and then introduced them to bad food at "The Walnut Room" while I advise people just show up there to see the Christmas Tree and get dinner somewhere else. He also saw the movie "Bolt" in 3-D and thought the story sucked but was good for the kids, and Mama Gotz wouldn't let him finish watching "Delta Farce" thanks to his Netflix queue. He also tries to analyze an episode of "The Big Bang Theory," and we both loved the "Naked Man" episode of "How I Met Your Mother."
Me, I tell Stu about me and my BFF having dinner with The Dude on the Left and Trash; lunch with The Mystery Dude and Mama Mystery Dude; how I didn't see any movies over the Thanksgiving weekend (but am looking forward to a review of "Australia" from The W.G.N.); how little ones are becoming gamblers; and am thankful that the Chicago Bears loss to the Minnesota Vikings might save me some hours from watching football for the rest of the season, although that time might be now taken by listening to Britney Spears' new CD, "Circus."
So much more, so much less, but as always, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Fireworks, Movies, Manners, and a Cheap Dude
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu
Gotz is here for
our "Weekend Wrap-Up! Podcast" and he started grumpy, but now is just
perturbed at me because I'm too cheap to take a quick Apple class to get our
podcast to sound better with the two USB headsets I'm trying to use. Me,
I'm just stubborn, and yes, I am cheap.
My cheapness aside, myself, I skipped the movies with my BFF, instead catching the end of the Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights Parade, where maybe our vantage point was crap for float viewing, but if you want the perfect view for the fireworks, I know the spot and I'm not telling. Stu didn't catch a parade, didn't take the little Gotz's to see "Bolt," but his seeing "Quantum of Solace" did lend us to some James Bond talk. On the funnier front, Stu revisited "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," while I have Netflix viewing to catch up with, including "Tropic Thunder!"
There
is a little talk about The Chicago Bears and their leading the division yet
still sucking, Stu ponders his Twitter
Tweets, manners, and a way to help save the environment because you only
wipe your butt with one hand.
Stu, being the Scuba man that he is, lastly reminisces on the ending of the YMCA Scuba Training, with a little but of animosity.
Neither of us know if we will see "Transporter 3," "Australia," or "Four Christmases" at the movies this week for Thanksgiving, but did enjoy Justin Timberlake in a black unitard on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago.
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Quantum of Solace," The Chicago Bears Suck, A Crabman, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
I
think I had a more exciting weekend than Stu Gotz, but to really find out, I
suppose you'll have to listen to
this week's "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast.
For Stu, well, most of his weekend was about family. He caught a movie with Mama Gotz, "27 Dresses," a movie I watched a few weeks ago with my BFF, and Stu kind of liked it. He also is keeping track of "Entourage" on HBO, and really isn't that sad that "My Own Worst Enemy" got cancelled from his TV schedule because he thought the show blew its load way too early in the season. He did find it surprising that YouTube booted his short video of one of the Little Gotz's when he got a message that his video was booted for having copyrighted material, even though it did contain copyrighted music. so, I guess, ahh, the Wild West of the universe might have really found a new sheriff, but I was just surprised that Stu actually knew what an algorithm was!
Me, I prognosticated, via Twitter, that the Chicago Bears would beat the Green Bay Packers by a score of 96 to 3, whereas sadly the score was almost exactly the opposite. I tell Stu how much the Bears sucked, even though I didn't get to see most of the game because the BFF and I went to see, "Quantum of Solace," which I still haven't decided if that was a good or bad thing, and we also went to the NBC Travel Expo at Navy Pier in Chicago and were both kind of disappointed at the representations of some Caribbean locals we were thinking of vacationing to. I did get to see Crabman and Catalina from "My Name is Earl," though only from afar, my BFF and I got to admire Mike Adamle (and I so wish I had a video camera) eating popcorn, and nothing wraps up an exciting weekend like cleaning your garage!
Sure, there are some other things we talk about, but for those, well, you'll just have to listen to the podcast.
And as always, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Bubble Tea, Families, Movies, and an Injury.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz is here for our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, where he makes fun of the fact I've been dating
my BFF for six months. But this podcast is not only about Stu making fun
of me, somehow we cram tons of talk of tons of things into almost twenty minutes
of a podcast.
Included in our talking is a quick discussion about bubble tea, with me and the BFF finding "Chill Bubble Tea" at Woodfield Mall on the way to an early Thanksgiving family get-together where "Mexican Fiesta" was the theme, and I am still in wonderment at the family gatherings of my BFF because they are so different from how mine are. Of course we talk about movies, with Stu Gotz seeing "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" with the Little Gotz's and Mama Gotz, at the IMAX theater at Navy Pier in Chicago, while I got to see "Role Models" and really enjoyed it, in an R-Rated kind of way. I was surprised to learn Stu actually knew of the movie "Like Water for Chocolate," which I watched with my BFF thanks to my Netflix queue (and liked it), and Stu reminds me I might want to catch up on "Entourage" on HBO and reminds the ladies that if they want to see wieners in movies, they might want to catch "Zack and Miri Make a Porno," "The Piano," or "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."
We also give our breakdown of the Chicago Bears' loss to the Tennessee Titans, and Stu is injured thanks to digging dirt and playing with his Wii. That's his Nintendo Wii, and playing with his other Wii didn't seem to help build up any muscles.
So much to talk about, so little time, but somehow we cram it all in, and are both looking forward to the new James Bond flick coming this weekend, "Quantum of Solace."

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Making a Porno, Don't Forget Sarah Marshall, The Elections and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
After re-listening to
our latest "Stu & The Dude Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, it doesn't sound
as bad as I thought it might, though there is a slight echo, being recorded on
my new MacBook and all, but there are still some microphone issues, some sound
effects issues, and issues of shutting up Stu Gotz at times that I still need to
deal with, but for about 18 minutes we have a bunch of topics to cover as
quickly as we can.
Sure, there is a brief discussion about the passing of Mom on the Right, but as sometimes happens for us, especially over the weekend, movies seems to be a part of our lives, so I saw "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" and Stu liked, via Netflix, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" sans the wiener.
Stu and Mama Gotz didn't get to see a movie, but they did hit some places for the kids over the weekend, namely a place with jumpy stuff for the kids at a birthday party, and someplace called "Space Golf" where Stu wonders if the people who run the place bought too much over-priced sci-fi crap. It does, though, give a new place for my BFF and I to continue our miniature golf competition.
TV talk also proliferates this podcast, with talk of "My Name is Earl" and "South Park," and what would a podcast on the eve of the Presidential Election be without talk about the Presidential Election, or in Chicago, voting early and voting often.
It was great to talk with Stu again for a podcast, even if there were some audio issues, but as Stu comments about Studs Terkel, it ends up obvious that neither of us read many books, but we do watch TV and both liked John McCain on "Saturday Night Live."

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! No More Hooters, Football, A Chihuahua, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu
Gotz is back! That's right, he's here in all his nasally glory for another
episode of our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. With Stu back he tells of a birthday party
for one of the Little Gotz's, complete with a trip for a group of little tykes
to see "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." Stu mentions if he liked the movie and
also if it good for kids, that even though he saw it a while ago he didn't think
"Speed Racer" was that bad, and hated the ending of "How to Lose Friends and
Alienate People." Movies aside, I tell Stu about my and the BFF's
experience at Hooters which was simply supposed to be a to-go order of ten
medium flavored wings which turned into a forty minute odyssey resulting in two
giant orders of cold fries, two orders of blue cheese and celery, two large
glasses of water, ten wings that had no sauce whatsoever, and a feeling that the
BFF and I will not be visiting, at least not together, a Hooters anytime soon.
And if that isn't enough for fifteen minutes of conversation, Stu and I also discuss Mama Gotz wanting to sell Beanie Babies on eBay, guns for kids, a fake e-mail about Barak Obama dealing with The American Flag and The National Anthem (come on people, use snopes.com), and, ever so briefly, we talk about movies that will be opening this weekend.

Chicago Sports, Stu's Schnoz, Apples, and A Happy Faced Barn.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu
Gotz was worried about his ticker but found out it was only his giant nose, so
I'm flying solo for
this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and even though my impression of Stu sucks,
and I don't keep it going throughout the podcast (mostly because it would have
probably been really annoying), I let you know what Stu sort of sounds like
right now, or maybe not. But this is a podcast about my weekend, and like
many Chicagoans, it was a lot about sports. Sure, the Chicago Cubs
finalized their meltdown, with this year's team securing their history in Cub's
lore as the team that made them not win a World Series in 100 years, and the
Chicago Bears are actually looking good, and as a Kyle Orton athletic supporter,
I was happy to see him do well, but were the Detroit Lions really a good
indication of their Bear-ness? And then there are the White Sox, breathing
life into the hopes of Chicago baseball fans, or at least south-side fans, for
another game. The crappy part is that as I'm typing this, and recorded the
podcast, the White Sox aren't doing well (in fact they lost), and I'm blaming
their losing this series on the fact that the White Sox management people urged
fans to wear black, but then gave the fans those dumb-ass, white, towels, which
you might as well just call "Homer-Hankies," or something else gay like that,
instead of refilling the order at "Bed, Bath & Beyond" for 40,000 black towels.
Blackouts only work when everything is black, and I hate to create my own
conspiracy theory, but what the hell? When the Chicago White Sox had their
original "blackout" for the one game playoff, well, fans donned their black
outfits, the fans were given black towels, and on TV it looked eerily cool,
especially with Halloween coming. Then came the playoffs, and on TV you
know what looks contrasting? People dressed in black while waving white
towels. Do you know who waves white towels? Managers in the corners
of a boxer, a boxer who is about to be pummeled beyond all recognition.
They don't throw in a black towel; they throw in a white towel, and that's what
the White Sox fans are flailing above their heads during this game. Black
towels are south side Chicago - White towels are lame-asses.
Enough
about sports and TV conspiracy theories, my weekend also included something way
out of normalcy for me, thanks to my BFF, and it might be something both of us
needed - a trip to do some apple picking, at some place called
The Elegant Farmer,
which plunged me into a world of wondering if people have fallen off of the
hayride, why we kept getting in line at the donut shack only to have them run
out of donuts, and I don't care how the apple people try to sell it - hail
damaged apples look gross, I'm not putting them in my basket, and I have no idea
how I didn't fall off of that ladder!
Most of my weekend was really about apple picking, so I'm sorry for the baseball rant, but in a bizarre way I thought the Chicago White Sox could actually pull off a second win, but with those dumb-ass white towels, the White Sox fans now look like every other dorky fan in the Major Leagues. A blackout means black, that you are a bad-ass - white towels mean you give up.
And, oh yea, during this podcast I also tell how I might start a new spotlight dealing with "The Biggest Loser."
This is probably the longest synopsis for a fifteen minute podcast ever, but I can't believe both Chicago baseball teams sucked this bad.
That's it for this one! I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Lots of Movies, Sports, and Spelling Julio.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu
Gotz is back for a
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, just in time to ruin the story of what I thought
was a lovely moment at dinner with my BFF, at "Uncle Julio's Hacienda" (and you
spell "Julio" with a "J" and not an "H", and the drink I thought was called
something like "The Squirrel" is actually called
"Swirl"
, and they have way-good food), in Chicago, and he also explains that he doesn't
know how to hang up his phone.
Dinner and a cell phone aside, the both of us saw some movies over the weekend, with Stu not liking the Jimmy Buffett-backed movie, "Hoot," that he saw on cable that much, my liking both "Eagle Eye" with Shia LaBeouf, in the theater and "The Hammer" with Adam Carolla, on DVD, and both myself and my BFF thinking "Ghost Town" with Ricky Gervais was too long. Both Stu and I are happy the Chicago Bears won, and Stu gives his detailed analysis of the new design of the Chicago Tribune newspaper. Thankfully he let me take his paper because my subscription is still on vacation hold and the store was sold out, although, since they were actually free today, wouldn't they have actually been free out? And me, I also give Stu my quick analysis of my TV viewing, complete about "Dancing With the Stars," "Survivor: Gabon," and "The Biggest Loser: Families."
Anyway, what would a timely podcast be without my impersonation of Tina Fey impersonating Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," with the both of us amazed at Tina Fey's impersonation of Sarah Palin, though Stu was not amazed at my impersonation of Tina Fey impersonating Sarah Palin.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Rain, Movies, TV, and A Loud Starbucks.
By:
The Dude on the Right
So Stu Gotz calls me and says, "Dude, I can't meet you at my place, so let's do
our
'Weekend Wrap-Up!' podcast at the Starbucks in Bolingbrook, IL." I
should have known better, because I've met Stu at that coffee shop before, and
the music is always WAY loud, but rather than doing another solo podcast, oh, I
thought, "What the hell? Let's give it a try!" At least we get
background music.
But loud, Starbucks' music aside, our podcast deals with talk of rain, because here in the Midwest we got tons of rain. Sure, it wasn't as much rain as those folks in Texas, with Hurricane Ike making landfall over the weekend and my sister almost getting thrown out into the storm (a topic for a future podcast with The W.G.N.), but one must wonder if God, or maybe the Devil, or who is Mother Nature anyway, might be pissed at us, and I think those people who "stuck it out" in Galveston should be left to fend for themselves. Sure, that's a segue into some religion talk, but with the rain, both of our weekends dealt with some movies having Stu catch "3:10 To Yuma" via his Netflix queue, and my seeing "Burn After Reading" at the theater and "I Want Someone to Eat Cheese" thanks to my Netflix queue, both with my BFF. Stu is freaked by a "Joe's Crab Shack" commercial, I got to see Carlos Zambrano pitch a no-hitter, and Stu is excited about his cable TV shows finishing up while I have TiVo setting up to do as "The Biggest Loser," "Heroes," "Chuck," and nearly every other show I love to watch on TV starts up in the next couple of weeks.
And we both thought Tina Fey was great as Sarah Palin, yet Michael Phelps, not so great as most of anything (except his "diet" skit) on Saturday Night Live this past weekend.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Cheese Curls, Google Chrome, A Favorite Shirt, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
I
was a little worried about seeing Stu Gotz for
this "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast because as much as my Labor Day weekend was
very fulfilling, well, it wasn't that much exciting, and I figured Stu was going
to be the person to show that my weekend vacation exploits were lame.
Little did I know that Stu decided that painting projects around the house were
the order of the weekend for the Gotz family, that seeing Stu in his "most
comfortable shirt" from Long Beach Island, NJ, might give me ideas for "easy
access" nightwear for both dudes and dudettes, and while I got my BFF addicted
to the tastiest cheese curls in the world, those "Snyder of Berlin Cheese Curls"
(and I still can't believe the Snyder folks haven't sent me a free case to eat,
I mean give away, thus solidifying my legend as the Midwest "dealer," giving the
rest of the world their "free" taste), Stu recommends some musical accompaniment
for the podcast when I have "trips to the 'Old Country.'"
Sure, we talk about snacks, we talk about Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and we talk about things left in hymnals at church, and we even talk about Google Chrome. I'd like to say we don't talk about "Tropic Thunder," but Stu just can't resist, and please, send all comments about "Slut or Whore" to stu@entertainmentavenue.com

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Democratic Convention, Dancing With the Stars, and Disney Disappoints a Gotz.
By:
The Dude on the Right
I
have to admit that new postings got derailed a bit with my trip to the old
country, but I'm not apologizing, I'm just saying. I'm also saying that
Stu Gotz and I got back together for a
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and in the last couple of weeks there has only
been a couple of things to witness in the mainstream media, namely The Olympics
and talk of the upcoming Democratic Convention. Wouldn't you know it, both
of us are happy that The Olympics (and Michael Phelps talk) are over, and now we
both wonder if Hillary Clinton can pull off total "C"-word-dom during the
convention (a word Stu heard this weekend, from an unlikely source). Me,
though, I really hope that Barack Obama stops drunk texting me at odd hours in
the morning with his "pick" for Vice President of Joe Biden, and he would
finally text me the truth - that Hillary Clinton is his running mate, if only
for the shear newsworthiness for the next five years.
Politics aside, Stu ruins my pronouncement of the latest contestants of "Dancing With the Stars" for this podcast, there's a marriage that was done, I had to pee and didn't want to cut my wiener, and one of the Little Gotz's gets some disappointment and doesn't understand how the "movie" world works thanks to the changing of the release date of Disney's "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" from his birthday weekend, to, well, October 3rd. With Little Gotz's dreams now crushed, the next thing you know he'll be asking Daddy Gotz to watch "The Bad Lieutenant. Like Father, Like Son.
Even with my trip to the old country, both of our weekends were kind of boring. Since I don't know if I'll get a podcast posted this Thursday (we'll see if I can get things together with The W.G.N.), I hope your upcoming Labor Day weekend is more exciting, especially, well, if you end up in labor. Screw the workers - birthing babies is really about labor, at least so I'm told, read, or see in the movies. Happy labor! Or just enjoy the day, and think about working, or having a baby.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Long Life, Beautiful People, Car Crashes, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
This
podcast episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" opens, and sort of
closes, with how to live a long life, care of Ernest Borgnine, although it might
not cause you to prosper. But living a long life wasn't a part of mine nor
Stu Gotz's weekend, instead, I risked my life, and the life of my BFF, by going
to the "Chicago Air and Water Show," where I sort of wished I were part of "The
Beautiful People" crowd, though I'm also happy that I wasn't a part of "The
Beautiful People" crowd, because, well, they can be assholes. Thankfully
no airplanes crashed on us, and thanks to my BFF my feet only got a little red
because I'm starting to think she might be the smart one of our duo.
Meanwhile, in risking lives, Stu risked his life, and learned a lot about car crashes, boobs, and mullets, by taking the Gotz family to a Demolition Derby, he still has dude-love for Minor League Baseball with a bachelor party night out with Officer G, and of course is still watching cable TV series, and comments about "Psych."
We
are both tired of The Olympics and Michael Phelps, although Stu is still
watching women's beach volleyball while I'm watching fencing, I recommend The
Buckingham Fountain light and music show in Chicago to Stu, and the both of us
recommend seeing the movie "Tropic Thunder." Stu also thinks if you are
totally dedicated to Starbucks, well, getting a tattoo of their logo on your arm
might just show your love for your coffee, though might not advance you in the
company.
And lastly, Stu found out about the new Lara Croft (although, as I researched her for this podcast after we recorded this episode, Alison Carroll is not the new "movie" Lara, she's the new "video game" Lara - Stu, get your story straight before you try and brag about something I try to think I know about), and I tell Stu that there is one reason why I don't like my iPhone, and Stu found out why.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! RIP Chef, Calliope Music, and Stu Doesn't See "The Scorpions" but Does Eat Tamales!
By:
The Dude on the Right
For this
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast with Stu Gotz, we do a different kind of tribute
than most folks did to Isaac Hayes, especially since we are bigger fans of
"South Park" than we are of "Shaft." R.I.P. Chef, we'll miss your
"Chocolate Salty Balls." And other than tributing to dead people, we also
do some movie talk, namely my seeing
"Pineapple Express" with my BFF, and I might just get struck down my
lighting yet with my observations of attending church at what is right now the
church of Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago.
I do explain to Stu that my BFF and I also watched "Blazing Saddles" on DVD, but Stu has his own movie, and also TV talk, with his Netflix queue (not really liking "Someone To Eat Cheese With" yet) and cable TV viewing of shows like "In Plain Sight," "Psych," and "Burn Notice."
Stu apologizes about his making fun of me about my Twittering thanks to Twissney, and renews his loves for not-so-hot tamales, instead of the hot tamale girl he found, when his normal tamale girl was missing.
I didn't realize Stu was such a fan of The Scorpions when I got clearance to cover their show, so sadly he wasn't my +1 for seeing the show (that review should be posted in a day or so), and what would the end of this summer be without some talk about the 2008 Olympics.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Movie-ing, Salespeople-ing, Turtle-ing, Food-ing, but No Twittering (yet).
By:
The Dude on the Right
This podcast of Stu & The Dude's "Weekend Wrap-Up!" begins with Stu Gotz's
explanation of what
"turtling" is, which he had going on at a Starbucks, to which I incorrectly
reference it as something about a gopher when actually I meant
"prairie doggin" it, a term I was introduced to during the movie
"Rat Race." But enough about animals, my weekend, as has been
happening lately, included time with my BFF where car shopping was the order of
the day, I ordered a pork chop with some fufu when we went to dinner at
Carnivale, and
with no time to watch the "Blazing Saddles" DVD, we did go and see
"Swing Vote" together. Stu is becoming delighted with my BFF and her
influence on me.
Stu's weekend wasn't very exciting, just catching up on some things around the Gotz house, but he tries to entice me to visit the Apple Store near him for a total "why I should buy an Apple" class, and also temps me for lunch at Ricobene's for a breaded steak dripping with red sauce, mozzarella, and for me, sweet peppers, with of course, their fabulous fries. Do I cave in? The podcast might answer those questions.
And finally, I try to explain to Stu why I'll be seeing "Pineapple Express" this weekend, and hope an old review of Melissa Etheridge doesn't ruin my chances to cover one of her shows this week in Chicago. I also tell Stu that maybe I should be twittering, because, well, I ran into a dudette in the elevator who was twittering and asked me if I twittered, and lately it seems likes blogs and podcasts aren't cool anymore, that the hip people twitter, and I so want to be hip. If I were twittering, right now I could twitter that I'm writing my podcast synopsis and it includes talk about twittering. Then later I could twitter how I posted this podcast which included talk about twittering. And then later than that, if the weather forecast holds, I could twitter that we are getting deluged by a big thunderstorm. And then later still, I could twitter that I survived our big thunderstorm. And then later than later still, I could twitter that I am going to bed. And then during the night, if I have a dream, I could wake up and twitter about it. Now I'm almost wishing I was twittering because I would twitter about how I'm wondering how I could incorporate my tweets (those are Twitter postings, as if you didn't know) instantly into Entertainment Ave! What the hell am I thinking? I haven't even finished building our virtual "Entertainment Ave!" in Second Life yet, and now I'm thinking of twittering? Although if I were twittering I could twitter about wondering if I should be twittering instead of building our virtual bar in Second Life. Maybe I should just concentrate on reviewing concerts again, although if I were twittering I could twitter about how I should concentrate on reviewing concerts again. Ugh!!!!
Please just listen to the podcast.! I promise I don't talk nearly as much about twittering as I have written in this synopsis.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Baseball, A Carnival, and Dogs.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Well
this is different. Normally the
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast with Stu Gotz talks a lot about movies, but,
oddly enough, this weekend had neither of us actually going to see a movie, and
both of us are tired. Yup, there's only a little "Step Brothers"' talk and
a little "The X-Files: I Want to Believe"' talk, instead my weekend started by
being spent in the old country (that's Lorain, OH, for those of you who don't
normally follow my blog or our podcasts) where I comment on how, if the
residents of Lorain shoot down a $20 fee to improve the roads, well, they
deserve to live in a ghost town, and wonder why they are going to lengthen Tower
Blvd. rather than rebuild the original Tower Blvd.
But this podcast isn't really about a town that has tons of potential but right now is just a giant speed bump, nope, a lot of this podcast is about baseball, namely seeing a Chicago White Sox game last Monday where my BFF got to meet Stu and Mama Gotz, and then yesterday where she got to meet The Dude on the Left, Trash, Slick, Boner, and Stinky, saw Stu in a slightly different light than when she met him last Monday, and her not being mortified at meeting four, slightly over-served, college buddies of mine.
Stu,
though, did get to have some family time over his weekend by attending a local
carnival where he found out one of the Little Gotz's might be a future roller
coaster enthusiast, Stu's family has a new puppy that was almost dead, and I
explain to Stu why I have fish and have never gotten a dog.
And, oh yea, this podcast also gives Stu's scientific analysis/theory of why he thinks teenage girls are being endowed with larger boobies.
Finally, we do discuss the upcoming movies of next weekend, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Swing Vote, and both agree that our significant others will probably want to see Kevin Costner as a schlub rather than see another mummy movie. The strange part - both Stu and I, also, would rather see Kevin Costner as a schlub instead of another mummy movie.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Nakedness, Lottery, Movies, and a Noid.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sure, normally
the "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast with me and Stu Gotz is posted on a Monday
night, but even though we recorded this episode yesterday, a trip to the Chicago
White Sox game (where the White Sox lost - bummer) got in the way of getting it
out in the internet for all to hear, although my BFF did
get to meet Stu and Mama Gotz at The Cell for the game, and that might be a topic of
conversation for next weekend's wrap-up. For this weekend wrap-up, though, I
tell Stu about my walking around naked on Saturday, thanks to my BFF getting me
some sandals to show off my "pedicured" feet, and I also tell Stu about a story
missed from the weekend before where my BFF and I won the lottery.
As is
normal for Stu and I, we do a lot of movie talk, with me discussing
"Mamma
Mia!," and both of us talking about "The Dark Knight," the Batman sequel where
Christian Bale is great as Bruce Wayne/Batman, except for his vocal affectations
when he is Batman, and the, as everyone else also professes, fantastic
portrayal that Heath Ledger gives The Joker. Stu has some issues with the
movie, I have none, but then again, Stu also got to see "Space Chimps," because,
well, Stu's got kids.
TV talk is also present in this podcast, Stu is becoming a Mac guy, and I state my case to, well, Stu, as to why I still have a "Noid," and why no one should ever underestimate the power of The Noid, and although not part of this podcast, you also shouldn't underestimate the power of an M&M dude getting a sun-tan, nor a wind-up Mr. Potato Head, nor a purple armadillo, nor a plastic chick with a big sword, nor Partying Smart, nor Normy for President, and in no way, ever, a Transformer.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The BFF Meets the Family, Lots of TV Talk, and an iPhone Update.
By:
The Dude on the Right
In an anomaly of a weekend during the summer movie season, I explain to Stu
Gotz,
during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, that I didn't see any new movies over
the weekend, although Stu and Mama Gotz did get a chance to see
"Get Smart." My reasoning for not seeing any new movies was because of
a trip to the old country,
Lorain, OH, with my BFF, to visit some of the members of my family.
Sadly it was a trip with my mom not feeling well (Mom, get well soon!), but I
think mom meeting my BFF did help lift mom's spirits a bit. I also tell
Stu of my taking some of the family to
Applebee's,
giving my girlfriend a tour of the old country that she hasn't seen in nearly 20
years, how we went to get some ice cream sundaes (thanks to my observant
nature), and played some miniature golf (thanks to my iPhone, which wasn't even
updated to my having a lightsaber yet), with both the getting sundaes and
playing miniature golf not happening in Lorain :-(. I did forget, though,
to mention to Stu about my BFF and I winning the lottery, thus necessitating a
trip back to Ohio. If The WGN and I have a podcast on Thursday, well, I'm
sure he will want to know the portion of the winnings he might be getting!
(Don't hold your breath The WGN!)
Stu Gotz, along with his movie viewing, did have a lot of excitement over his weekend, some of it family related which caused him to miss a Cubs' game, but also some of it dealing with his love of SCUBA.
The podcast also talks about the Mr. Men show, Stu's love of cable TV shows on USA, and how Deanna on "The Bachelorette" picked the snowboard dude, Jesse, even though I keep referencing him as "the skateboard" dude. Oh well.
We also talk about new movies coming out this weekend, even though there is really only one movie for everyone to see, and me to review, namely "The Dark Knight," though the dudettes can go and see "Mamma Mia!"
You know what, chicken butt, but this podcast synopsis is already too long, just go and listen to it for yourself!
And because I can, because this is my website, another shout-out to my mom - "Mom, get well soon!"

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Hancock," Fireworks, Cars, Church, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
I am happy to say that both Stu Gotz and I made it through the 4th of July
weekend with all of our appendages attached, however, during
our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, Stu regales me with a story of some friends
who are sort of lucky to have done the same! But this podcast isn't all
about danger - though my going to mass over the weekend did bring thoughts of a
lightning bolt occurring on a sunny day - in any case, nope, we talk about
simpler things like the movie
"Hancock." I tell Stu of my time with my BFF which included my making
her dinner, going with her to test drive some cars (showing I don't really know
BWM models, but that doesn't matter because I preferred the VW Eos anyway), and
putting my life into her hands as we stepped through the church doors. I
also want to know where my Netflix movies disappeared to. Stu lets me know
that he liked the movie
"Nancy Drew," and gave some bombshell news about one of our friends.
And what podcast would be complete without talk about Pringles and my realizing, because I'm slow sometimes, that they aren't really potato chips.
And lastly, a shout-out to my Mom to get well soon!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! RV-ing, Penn & Teller, Movie Talk, Toilet Paper, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz's delay in getting back to the Chi-Town area after an RV-ing adventure
(complete with a trip to
Herkimer N.Y.) led
to our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast being a day late, but even with an extra day of
preparation, I somehow manage to screw-up our opening. Oh well! We
don't do a lot of movie talking, just a quick thought about
"Wanted" from me, some quick thoughts about
"Wall-E" from both of us, but the movie clip that actually had all of us
laughing, from Stu and Mama Gotz to the Little Gotz's, and from myself to my BFF,
was the animated short, "Presto," that preceded "Wall-E," about a cute little
rabbit, just wanting to get fed, and a magical hat.
Stu did manage to catch up on some of his Netflix viewing, loving "Letters from Iwo Jima," while I regale Stu with my loving the new season of "Penn & Teller: Bullshit," especially their take on "New Age Medicine," the magic of a kazoo, and I can't believe I forgot to tell Stu about the toilet plunger therapy and how Penn & Teller seem to know their audience is a bunch of men because suddenly their booby quotient is a lot higher than in past episodes. I do advise Stu that now might be the time to get Sirius Satellite Radio, and no, not because of the merger with XM, an approval decision that has so far lasted longer than it takes for a baby to be conceived, born, and eating solid food, but because for a couple of weeks they are going to have "ABBA Radio," all ABBA, 24/7, in celebration of the upcoming "Mamma Mia!" movie. We also have some tattoo and piercing talk, and as I tell Stu to go and look for the video, there was a fight during the one of the latest Chicago White Sox/Chicago Cubs Crosstown Classic games, and nope, it's not about rival fans beating each other up, but rather about joining together in the love.
And, go figure, Stu has toilet paper issues.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Computer Issues, Movie Talk, The Rest of the Family, and Remembering George Carlin
By:
The Dude on the Right
Computer
issues seem to be proliferating the lives of myself and Stu Gotz, so for this
podcast episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!", well, we, among
other things, lament about our computer problems. Mine deal with not
getting new reviews posted, namely I haven't gotten my movie review of "Get
Smart," nor the concert review of "The Swell Season" posted yet (those are
coming soon since things are fixed, I hope, with the testingness of getting this
podcast posted should show things are resolved), while Stu is waiting for a
package to solve his computer issues, although Mama Gotz might have come up with
a cheaper solution.
Stu,
along with his computer issues, also talks about his Netfilx viewing, and Mama
Gotz still hating me because, now, of their seeing
"No Country for Old Men," and even though I didn't give my official review
of "Get Smart" yet, I do give Stu my take on the movie during the podcast.
Me, I also saw more of the family of my BFF over my weekend, (happily, or maybe
sadly, without them greeting me with bags over their heads), I lent Stu the
extended version of "Stripes" because of the deleted scene of P.J. Soles, and
the UPS Store Girl aside, Stu and I are sad to hear of the passing of George
Carlin who died yesterday. We talk about his comedy,
our seeing him, his great movie roles (and yes, screwing that up George
Carlin was actually Cardinal Ignatius Glick instead of a Bishop, as we
referenced him, in the movie
"Dogma"), and neither of us really knew why Mr. Carlin's
"Seven Dirty Words"
joke ended up being so controversial. We are both so young, yet getting
old.
And in honor of George Carlin, and to Kevin Smith, and the folks of "Dogma," "Snootch to the motherfuckin’ nootch!" And maybe Jesus should just be your buddy.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Meeting the Parents, Minor League Baseball, Movie Talk, and a Dirty Health Scare.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sometimes Stu Gotz and I struggle to find anything to talk about because our
weekends, respectively, are boring, but for whatever reason the cosmos' collided
and
suddenly we generated a 20+ minute podcast about our past weekend. I
mean, who knew doing some painting in a garage could be so exciting over the
entire weekend, and so full of stories, at least for Stu & Mama Gotz? Stu
also re-remembered the joy of attending the Kane County Cougars - minor league
baseball in a western suburb of Chicago, and found a new/old Jimmy Buffett song.
There was also a health scare in the Gotz family, but happily all is well!
Me, I gave Stu my take on seeing
"The Happening," mostly wondering why myself and Richard Roeper seem to be
liking some of the same movies lately, even though sometimes for different
reasons, and let Stu know that even though
"The Incredible Hulk" marketing is in full force, much like
"Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" it might just be best
to buy the little Gotz's the Hulk toys for them to create stories with their own imagination,
rather than give them nightmares by seeing a giant, green dude beat the
daylights out of numerous people on the movie screen.
For me, though, my largest portion of the podcast gives Stu my tales of meeting some of the family of my BFF, but most importantly her Mom and Dad. It was a Father's Day celebration for her family, but, for me, it was part "inquisition" (as it should be) and part "Norman Rockwell Family Gathering," and way different than most, if any, of this Dude's family gatherings, especially since no one went to go and see a movie after dinner. But, to all of the members of the family of my BFF that I did meet and might be reading this, I want to give all of you a shout-out for making me feel welcome, and hopefully my right wrist will heal by the next family gathering so I can play some guitar, although I have a feeling I'll have some kind of finger ailment on my left hand by then, and maybe laryngitis!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Echoes," Movies, T-Ball, an Attic, and a Tornado!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sure, we're a day late and a dollar short, but Stu Gotz and I are here for
our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast! It was sort of a weird weekend for the
both of us because, for me, I went home to
visit Mom in the Old Country, while Stu, hanging with his Gotz family, saw
"Kung Fu Panda" and hunkered down in his basement following a call from Jim
Cantore from The Weather Channel. Me, at home, I helped clean out an attic
in oppressive heat, saw
"You Don't Mess With the Zohan" solo (It's just not the same seeing a movie
without your BFF! Sorry, I digress!) toured some cemeteries, and ate some
ribs, while Stu, well he realizes a little Gotz might not be the baseball star
he was hoping he would be (who knew that T-Ball can't keep a kid's attention?),
almost saw a tornado (although our grave-digger friend was a couple of hundred
yards outside the path of it), and Mama Gotz now hates me thanks to Stu Gotz's
choice on his Netflix queue of
"Walk Hark: The Dewey Cox Story."
The both of us also talk about a disappearing lake named Lake Delton, a flying dog, and the upcoming "The Incredible Hulk" movie. Through it all we listen to "Echoes" from Pink Floyd, - it is, after all, over 15 minutes long, and if you strap on some headphones during this podcast, you might hear the song as well, because, well, it is a "Headphones Only" kind of song.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A MySpace Page Change, Catch and Release, and "Sex and the City."
By:
The Dude on the Right
So I made a significant change to
my MySpace
Page, and the fallout is now happening. Sadly Stu Gotz and I recorded
our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast prior to the fallout, but Stu had his own way of
avoiding a question he has asked two times before, and to my dismay I can't
believe I actually enabled him by supplying him with a music clip.
Weekend-wise, though, Stu's wasn't that exciting, but hanging with your family
on a little vacation doesn't have to be that exciting, just relaxing and showing
the kids that you can catch a fish, take a picture, and throw them back in the
water (the fish, not the kids) can be time well spent. Me, I tell Stu how
my BFF got me to expand my culinary horizons at a variety of restaurants in
Chicago, such as Red Light, Sushi Wabi, and Marche, how we went to see
"Sex and the City" and both liked the movie, and how I was a little
surprised to hear opera singing at Chicago's Gospel Fest.
But the podcast isn't all about us, nope, I regale Stu with clips from a Pastor/Minister/Whomever, wondering how he doesn't get sued, and Stu leaves me high-and-dry for part of the podcast, searching the Internet for potential nip-slips from yesterday's "MTV Movie Awards" gold-carpet show.
Now I just have to wait and see when my other BFF disowns me!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Skype Works, Stu's Sick, A Cougar Movie, and an Indy Movie.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu and I couldn't meet up together for our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but through the magic of Skype it's almost like
he was sitting next to me, if sitting next to me means an ever so slight delay
in our conversation and occasionally losing his voice for a second or two.
Actually, our internet experiment worked, complete with sound effects, so I know
that guest podcasters is an option for the future. But this a podcast
about our respective weekends, so here's the basic rundown of what we chat
about...
Stu's sick (so it's also a good thing we didn't meet up) and hanging with the little Gotz's as Mama Gotz is working. He had plans for some backyard camping, but being under the weather it turned into a Netflix weekend for him with his seeing two movies at the opposite end of the spectrum, namely "Wild Hogs" (good for the family), and "Cougar Club," (not for the family, or anyone for that matter) with a list of recognizable actors and actresses, including Faye Dunaway. And even though he wrote a review of his new "Wii Fit," I'm guessing he didn't use it much this weekend, his being sick and all.
As for me, I regale Stu with tales of seeing "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and fireworks, having a nice dinner, needing to buy a new filter for my fish tank, and why I had "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" in my Netflix queue.

I Could Have Won $0.40, or even Millions, I've Got Too Much Stuff, and Here Comes Indiana Jones!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Boo hoo! I'm flying solo for this
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and even though I could try to blame Stu, I've
really only got myself to blame. But that's okay, because this upcoming
week brings the finale of "American Idol," which I'm predicting might have
the weakest ratings for any Idol final because do we really care if David or
David, as in Cook or Archuleta, wins? That said, this is a podcast about
my weekend, so my weekend brought about a chance, that I didn't take, to make a
couple of million bucks (Sure, I would have needed about $10,000,000 to do it,
but hey?), a movie I didn't care for (Maybe I should have
seen the first "Chronicles of Narnia," well, first?), and a revelation that
I have too much stuff (Do you want a Chicago Suburban Area phone book from 1995,
a movie idea on a 3 1/2" floppy, a "Southern Comfort" flag, or a hand-held,
black & white scanner?). It might be time to rent a dumpster.
And, oh yea, here comes Indiana Jones, a crystal skull, and maybe some aliens!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Speed Racer," The Dude Leaves his Bunker, and Baseball Nuts.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz and I finally got back together for an actual
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and with our being separated for so long we end
up with a lot to talk about, and actually it's only about this past weekend!
Stu gives his synopsis of "Speed Racer," actually saying that even though it is rated PG, well, it's probably not that great a kid movie, and since I didn't see a movie on Saturday I had to inform Stu as to what my diversion was, namely I left my computer bunker and had a great time visiting a classmate from years gone by. Stu, of course, goes "blue" about my nice day, and then goes more "blue" talking about his trip to see the Chicago Cubs with the little Gotz's (thankfully he, nor Mama Gotz, didn't let loose in front of their kids).
I also give Stu my analysis that Amanda Kimmel should have been the winner on "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites," but instead Pavarotti, I mean, Parvati Shallow, actually won the million bucks, Stu saw some British film I didn't care about, movie season is coming into full bloom, and in the middle of this podcast there is so much more!

Miley Cyrus and Mindy McCready being 15 Years Old, Roger Waters has a Pig, and Happy Birthday Theta Xi!
By:

I almost forgot this is supposed to be
a "Weekend Wrap-Up" podcast during this podcast, especially since Stu Gotz
isn't around to remind me, but I did remember I saw
"Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" and
"Baby Mama" towards the end of my 15 minutes of talking. The thing is,
with the scandal of 15 year old Miley Cyrus and her "embarrassing" pictures in
Vanity Fair, and the story about Mindy McCready being involved with Roger
Clemens when she was 15 years old, I couldn't help but wonder what is the deal
with 15 year old girls, and I give my 2 cents worth of commentary. There
is also a story of the not 15 year old Cheri Oteri and the death of her dad
which caught my eye, and at the end of the podcast I wonder why the story of
Roger Waters at Coechella is a surprise since he's been releasing a giant,
inflatable pig scribbled with political writing into the air at least since
I saw him in 2006. Maybe it was because we have found out that Roger
is a Barack Obama fan.
I
also do some singing during this podcast as tomorrow, being April 29th, holds a
sort of special place in my heart as it is the 144th birthday (if I added things
correctly), of my fraternity,
Theta Xi. Thankfully, back in 1864, Peter Fox, Ralph Packard,
Christopher Waite, George Brainerd, Samuel Buel Jr., Henry Farnum, Thomas
Raymond, and Nathaniel Starbuck decided forming a fraternity at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York would be a good thing. This
event resulted in my having a group of lifelong friends, and especially meeting
The Dude on the Left with the two of us forming
"The Unknown Reviewers" for beer money, which eventually developed into
Entertainment Ave!, which eventually led to this podcast. Funny how
something 144 years ago influenced today. Sadly this last paragraph should
have probably been told during my podcast as my podcast tribute to Theta Xi's
birthday is kind of lame, except, for, well, my singing.

Movie Talk, Artie Lange Talk, End of the World Talk, "Survivor" Talk, and more Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
It's mostly my fault that Stu isn't here for
our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but as it turns out I've got a lot to talk
about. I discuss male nudity thanks to the movie
"Forgetting Sarah Marshall," I discuss the convergence of two Martial Arts
stars thanks to
"The Forbidden Kingdom," and I am happy that Artie Lange is back on
The Howard Stern Show
after his fake tirade, set up just to give all of us fans a cliffhanger before
the Stern Show went on vacation for a week. I'm just kidding. I
don't care what anyone says because I think the fight with Teddy Microphone was
real, that it was a damn good thing Artie didn't actually hit Teddy, and why am
I telling you all of this when you should be listening to the podcast?
I also think the end of the world might be near, what with an earthquake here in the Midwest and the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox now in first place (Come on Cleveland Indians, get your act together!), and thought Ozzie getting booted from "Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites" might have been the best tribal council ever last week.
See, I told you I have a lot to talk about.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Golf, Movies, Religion and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Here comes the Pope, here comes the Pope! Actually here comes
another podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!," but I thought I
would welcome Pope Benedict to these United States, and for whatever reason, Stu
Gotz found it necessary to bring up religion for this podcast. He also
brings up the fact that Grandma Gotz and Mama Gotz, and for that fact himself,
are sometimes on different wavelengths in raising the little Gotz's, and it
oddly enough relates to
"Scooby
Doo" and
"SpongeBob SquarePants" (Did you know he lives in a pineapple under the sea,
and Stu, I hate to toss you to the wolves, or at least Mama Gotz, but did you
realize the absorbent and yellow and porous one is rated TV-Y7?) which all came
to a head this Sunday with the little Gotz's singing a song and being afraid of
monsters.
Not having kids I didn't have the difficulties Stu encountered over the weekend, mostly because I was watching Tiger Woods not be able to sink a put to save his life and lose The Masters, am still backed up on my watching "Battlestar Galactica" because my TiVo decided it wanted to watch Skinemax instead, but we both talk about a lot of movies, namely "Prom Night," "Smart People" (which, the more I think about it, I over-rated it for my written review), "Enchanted," and "The Kingdom." We also talk a bit about TV, and my recommendation for watching the finale of "The Biggest Loser: Couples,"
At least we don't talk about politics.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Prairie Fires, Movies, Dieting, and Poop.
By:
The Dude on the Right
With the weather breaking Stu Gotz and I did what we do best when the weather is
nice - see a lot of movies. So,
for this podcast Stu gives his take on "Run, Fatboy, Run" and his Netflixed
movie
"License to Wed." Meanwhile, I tell Stu what is wrong with
"Leatherheads," and the fact that I liked
"Nim's Island."
I did get out to enjoy nature, or at least a prairie fire, and while I was grilling a great steak, Stu tells me that Mama Gotz was on a diet that actually caused her waistline to grow. Either that, or she should have pooped first before measuring that waistline.
And, oh yea, we talk some "South Park" where Stu can't understand the making fun of Canada.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Dude's a Handyman and Stu's Bad Days.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Easter weekend has come and gone, but
Stu Gotz and I are still here and podcasting. Aren't you excited?
Well you should be because during this podcast I relate how during the weekend I
found I can still shovel snow and am still a handyman (much to the surprise of
my sister), while Stu, and I, I suppose, forgot that stores are closed on Easter
Sunday, much to the dismay of the little Gotz's.
In the meantime I relate to Stu my inability to pick the NCAA March Madness Final Four, why quitting the TV show "Survivor" is lame, while we both discuss "South Park" blowing off the top half of Britney Spears' head and no one going to see "Drillbit Taylor" yet still seeing "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who." Stu, meanwhile, has been having a bad day because he had to poop, learning a valuable lesson. Listen to make sure you learn the lesson, too.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Stay Awake on a Plane, Horton, DVD's, and Child Rearing.
By:
The Dude on the Right
I give Stu Gotz a live listen to how I might want to start our podcasts, but
with him being here for our
"Stu & The Dude Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, he just thinks it might make you
not listen because who wants to hear a reason why I don't fall asleep on an
airplane. The new opening is inspired by a web site called
"Wallstrip," but after
telling Stu another reason I don't sleep on airplanes, and Stu telling how he
can't not help but sleep on an airplane, we get into the heart of the podcast
with both of our takes on
"Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" Movie time discussion then turns into
raising and disciplining children, and I tell Stu about my DVD Sunday because
Stu's weekend was pretty boring.
For what it's worth, by the time you read this synopsis, Erin Go Bra-less, and if there isn't another podcast before this weekend, and you are a Christian, Happy Easter! If not, I hope you can at least save some money during the Easter Weekend sales.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "10,000 B.C.", DST, Stu's Netfilx Movies, Killing a Hawk, Some Politics, Arena Football, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz tried to blame me for our not getting together last week, but never
fear, we set our differences aside for
a new podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!", and what better way to
kick of the episode than my telling Stu about
"10,000 B.C." Stu doesn't get to the movies that often, but he does
use his Netflix queue diligently, and let me know about the movie "Next"
starring Nicolas Cage, while we both recall
"Live Free or Die Hard."
Stu wasn't the only one to watch a DVD this weekend, because after discussing both of our not liking the change to Daylight Saving Time anymore, I tried to compensate by watching "Spiral," which I briefly tell Stu a little bit about ahead of my full review this week. Stu wonders what the consequences will be for a pro golfer who killed a hawk, we actually talk some politics, Stu went to a Chicago Rush game while I reminisced seeing one of the first ArenaBowls (I thought it was #1, but Wikipedia says it was #2), and what would a Stu & The Dude podcast be without some talk about boobs.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Oscar Talk, Who's Jimmy Kimmel "F"-n, and Stu Won't Shut Up.
By:
The Dude on the Right
For this blue (and I'm not talking sad, I'm talking bad language) episode of our
"Weekend Wrap-Up Podcast!" Stu Gotz just doesn't want to shut up (nor keep
it clean), not that there's anything wrong with that. What it does do,
though, is lend this to a podcast of topics just about everywhere and anywhere.
We give our wrap-up of "The Academy Award" broadcast, how some missed out on the coveted Oscar, and both Stu and I thought it was really cool that they let Marketa Irglova come back out and give her speech for winning the best song Oscar for "Falling Slowly" from the film "Once" after the band cued her and Glen Hansard off the stage after Glen spoke. We also discuss fashion, which is scary, and found it funny that John Stewart slammed "Norbit" even though it was up for an Academy Award.
Stu saw a couple of movies over his weekend, one via his Netflix, namely "The Ex," the other without Mama Gotz, namely "Be Kind, Rewind," and lets me know what he thought of them, while I tell Stu about the joys of buying a meat slicer. There's also talk of the return of "Saturday Night Live" with a fake commercial called "Annuale" that Stu said nearly had Mama Gotz fall out of bed (we both found it very funny), and I have to admit I was wrong because it was Fred Armisen who was doing the Barack Obama impression during the opening, not someone new, although I still think Darrell Hammond doing Jesse Jackson doing Barack Obama would be better.
I did hip Stu to the fact that Jimmy Kimmel has figured out how to get back at Sarah Silverman, namely because Jimmy Kimmel is fucking Ben Affleck, and we find that Jimmy has the star power Sarah only wishes she had. Stu also wants us to start a porn site because that's where the real money is, only I have trouble with the domain name he wants to buy. Finally, since Stu still can't stop talking, he now hates Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel because Jim woke the Gotz family up at three in the morning just to tell him about an upcoming Winter Storm Warning and not a tornado.
Thanks for listening! And Mom, get well soon!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! At the Movies, Watching the Grammy's, A Song Not for The Grammy's, and The Dude isn't a Pimp.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Maybe it took the bone-chilling cold, or maybe the threat of snow, or just the
never-ending winter, but whatever the reason Stu Gotz and I were able to get
back together for a new episode of
“Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcast. First off, I won’t apologize
for offending anyone with some of our content for this podcast because it is
labeled “Mature,” but Stu is pissed at the ongoing writer’s strike and he can’t
take it anymore. Meanwhile I give some quick Grammy Award talk followed by
spotlighting a song by
Riskay – The
Drama Queen, which most likely has no shot in hell at winning a Grammy
Award. And no, I’m not a pimp.
But as is usually the case with our weekend wrap-up we also talk about movies. Stu mentions his seeing the movie “Atonement” in the theater and catching “The Nanny Diaries” via his Netflix queue, while I get to break the news to him that the Paris Hilton movie “The Hottie & The Nottie” didn’t do too well at the theaters, but I did see “Fool’s Gold” and “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show….” We also discuss “The Spiderwick Chronicles” because Stu’s kids want to see the flick. It is rated PG, but Stu wonders just how kid-friendly it is especially after his disaster in letting his kids see “Zathura.”
Here's for hope and thanks for listening!

An Apology, Movie Talk, Some New TV and MTV, but No Stu.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz and I couldn’t get our schedules to meet today so I’m flying solo for
this weekend wrap-up podcast. Starting off I do some apologizing to my mom
and anyone else who might have read the early version of yesterday’s blog where
my writing got a little blue, and not blue as in being sad. Personally I was
grumpy, and I probably should have just written about my grumpidom, but instead
the f-bomb and s-bomb showed up. Oh well. There’s also a little bit of analysis
on my movie viewing over the weekend, namely seeing “Rambo”
and “Meet
the Spartans,” but a lot of this podcast deals with TV stuff, and maybe it’s
finally time for MTV to change its name, maybe to something like ANTMMTV
(America’s Next Top Model Marathon TV). You know, thinking about it as I type
this, maybe MTV is appropriate, but instead of Music Television maybe it’s time
for them to rebrand it to Marathon Television. I wish I had thought of that as I
was recording this podcast. C’est la vie!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Lots of Movies, Mama Gotz's Issues, A New Ringtone, and Peeing on a Stick.
By:
The Dude on the Right
After my being away for a week
for some sadness, Stu Gotz and I are back
together for some happiness, and what better way to be happy than with a
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. My return to normalcy has been all about movies
so I tell Stu about
"Cloverfield,"
"27 Dresses,"
"Jimmy and Judy," and my attempt to keep my niece innocent and wholesome by
taking her to see
"The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything." But while I was attempting to promote
wholesomeness it seems Stu got a provocative photo from Mama Gotz, and he also
describes a commercial he saw about a pregnancy test.
We also talk some football during the podcast, what with the upcoming Super Bowl and all, and I also let Stu know what I’ve changed my ringtone to for him (it’s also the new ringtone for my nephew and sister). And, oh yea, Stu wants you to watch "psych" on the USA Network, and I still don't know why.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Movies & TV, Britney & Lindsay, Weather & Delilah.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Man, those holidays on a Tuesday really screwed with our
“Stu & The Dude Weekend Wrap-Up!” podcasts, but thankfully tomorrow is just
January 8th so Stu and I got together to reflect on weeks gone by, or at least
to talk about last weekend. Movies were a big topic of conversation as I told
him about
“One Missed Call,” while Stu’s Netflix cue was working overtime. And as much
as movies are important, Stu and I have different views on Dr. Phil’s intrusion
into the latest BUI episode (that would be Britney Under the Influence for those
of you who don’t read our sister site,
mostlyentertainment.com), and
why not talk about Lindsay Lohan if you’re talking about Britney?
Stu’s looking forward to a lot of TV shows returning on cable, I school him on "American Gladiators," and I still like my concept for The Golden Globe Awards, but the weather in Chicagoland is still a warm topic, and as much as I hate Delilah I’m also starting to hate Stu’s obsessing about my hating Delilah.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! They Both See Movies, The Dude has a Cold, and Stu's Getting Old.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Even though I’m sporting a head cold, and Stu Gotz just got over one (go ahead,
make your own conclusions), we stuck it out and got together for another
episode of "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. Both us saw
"I Am Legend" and
"Alvin and the Chipmunks," so of course we dissect them. We also talk a bit
about the death of Dan Fogelberg, and I was correct, he died from prostate
cancer and not skin cancer which is what Stu thought. I also hip Stu to the
latest doings of Mr. Chocolate Rain,
Tay Zonday, while Stu
wonders what movies are coming out over the Christmas holiday (I
tell him, of course).
There are a few more tidbits during our podcast, so I don’t want to spoil them here, but let’s just say I’m not buying the fact that Stu injured his right hand and arm doing real work, but rather doing something right-handed dudes are likely to do with their hand and arm.
Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "The Golden Compass" Analysis, Weather Woes, and More Movie Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz and I brave the ice and snow to get together, but it will take a lot
more than Stu falling on his ass to stop us from doing our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. Both of our weekends were filled with
seeing
"The Golden Compass" with both of us not really liking it. Our
analysis is one for the Hollywood books! And as we discuss a current film,
we also talk a bit about the upcoming "I Am Legend" movie, which I couldn't
remember is based on a book from the 1950's and a couple of films, namely
"The Last Man on Earth" and
"The Omega
Man," and as much as Stu might want to add those movies to his Netflix
queue, it seems Mama Gotz has taken over the Gotz Netfilx selections, unless,
well, Stu has a thing for Marie Antoinette.
Sure, we talk a lot about movies, but we also discuss some football, including the streaks of the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, some TV with Mama Gotz's solution to the writer's strike, and how Stu has no taste in music anymore, possibly costing me some concert clearance.
Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Weekend with Friends, Sports, and TV.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Both Stu Gotz and I survived a weekend of seeing old friends, although for this
episode of
"Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, well, I’m feeling blue about
the latest Chicago Bears’ loss while Stu just lets his talk lean to the blue
side. Podcasts like this are why sometimes I wish I had never gotten my Mom a
computer so she couldn’t listen. Don’t blame me, Mom – it’s Stu!
So we reminisce about a weekend of seeing old friends, some new bars, and Whammy’s sex life, but we also talk some about a Jennifer Love Hewitt controversy and Stu’s liking her curvy body and boobies, how I think James, whom I originally wanted so much to win the latest "Survivor," is an idiot even if he could bury me, and yes, "American Gladiators" is returning for your TV viewing pleasure - thank you writer's strike! And me, I fill Stu in on how I humor myself in my mind, this time because of smelly perfume and smelly soap.
This week is a little more normal so I should also have a new, solo, podcast this Thursday, but for now we just have a podcast showing why we probably will never get a show on terrestrial radio even though Don Imus is still there. Maybe Stu and I are too edgy for terrestrial radio anyway? Maybe Howard Stern could use a new radio show on Channel 101? Maybe I'm still just humoring myself in my head? And no, Mom, I never slept with a hooker in Las Vegas.
Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend (and Thanksgiving) Wrap-Up! The Dude Calls 911 Twice, Stu Sees Movies and a Parade.
By:
The Dude on the Right
No one should have to get good at it, but my Thanksgiving weekend honed my
skills at dialing 911, which I briefly explain why to Stu Gotz during our
"Weekend (and Thanksgiving) Wrap-Up!" I did get to see "March of the
Penguins" complete with 40 minutes worth of commercials, but Mom laughed at some
of my jokes during the movie so it was okay.
Stu, though, had a hugely busy Turkey Day weekend filling me on his seeing "Enchanted" and "August Rush" on the big screen, seeing "The Guardian" on the small screen, and taking the Gotz family to see the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade from the comfort of a hotel room. Stu can be very ingenious at times.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Tig old Bitties, Mots of Lovies, and Gama Motz!
By:
The Dude on the Right
It's a Monday, it's another
podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!", and we've got a special
guest, namely Mama Gotz, and this time she is more talkative, as opposed to the
last time she was a special guest. Maybe it's because this time we have so
much to talk about.
First we talk about "Tig old Bitties," which seemed to be a way the TV show "30 Rock" found to get around the FCC censors, and Stu gets into a huge rant about the TV writer's strike and its affecting his favorite shows. I try to calm Stu down so eventually all of us discuss our movie going weekends, including "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium," "No Country for Old Men," and "Beowulf." Stu wanted to make fun of me for missing Garth Brooks at the movies while I tell him it's probably a good thing I lost my ticket, but I do hip Stu to my seeing "Shaw/Blades," even with my valet disaster.
Thanksgiving is also upon us all, so from all of us to all of you, Happy Turkey-Day!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Movie Talk, Football Talk, Scuba Talk, Garth Talk, and More Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Again, finally. Stu and I have been able to connect again, finally to do a
podcast. Again, finally. As much fun as it is doing a podcast alone,
it is so much funner to do them with someone, and for
this episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" we've got a lot to talk
about, and it's not even about when Stu was away.
Nope, our weekends were action-packed, with both of us seeing Fred Claus and giving our takes on it, and I hip Stu into many things football, especially the Chicago Bears new quarterback controversy and the Ohio State Buckeye's implosion. Stu tells me that I was right about printer cartridges, and I was at a 60th birthday party. We also talk some about my seeing an upcoming Garth Brooks' concert, Stu has a lot of scuba talk, and intermixed in all of that is even more, like both of us digging Natalie Portman!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Bears Blow Up, Stu saw Movies, The Dude and a Wheel, and a Bachelor Meltdown.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Thank God it's a Monday and Stu Gotz is here for our
"Stu & The Dude Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast because I'm a little distraught
that I
wasted a Sunday afternoon watching the Chicago Bears. I was also able to get
a lot of things off of my chest, like feeling bad for the people who dumped
their loved-ones ashes along the vines at Wrigley Field, and my not getting
picked to go on stage for the
"Wheel of Fortune"
auditions. Back to Wrigley Field, Stu and Mama Gotz had an idea for making some
money for a charity via sod, with Stu boasting about his heritage brothers, and
Stu also saw a couple of movies,
"Smokin' Aces" and
"Employee of the Month," thanks to cable and his Netflix queue, but couldn't
understand a dude he observed while he just wanted some breakfast. Lastly, I
give Stu a listen as to why last week's "The Bachelor" might have been the
greatest episode ever.
So much to talk about in under twenty minute. Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Dude does Movies, Stu does Jewel, The Dude Walks, and Stu MySims.
By:
The Dude on the Right
The fall weather
finally seems to be upon us here in Chicagoland today, but the weekend was
anything like fall. I’m surprised Stu Gotz was able to make it, but here we
both are for our
Weekend Wrap-Up Podcast! Me, I did catch a couple of movies, namely “The
Comebacks” and “Rendition,”
so I give Stu my take on them, while Mama Gotz took Stu to see Jewel who
still
hasn’t sent Stu some of her underwear. We also talk some sports
especially since the loss by the Cleveland Indians left me in mourning,
but talking with Stu about the Chicago Bears win got me to afternoon.
As far as the enjoying the weather part I at least got out to enjoy it with a couple of walks, while Stu missed it although he did walkthrough his MySims game.
I also tell Stu about my dream to be on "Wheel of Fortune," and since they are having auditions in Chicago this weekend, I'm thinking of giving it my shot as the "Wheelmobile" visits nearby for an upcoming Chicago taping. Sure, the website says over a million people tried out with only 600 getting on the show last year, leaving my chances at actually making it all the way to the show at something like a whopping .06%, but hey, what else would I have to do on a Saturday afternoon other than see "Saw IV?"
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Cubs are Gone, The Bears are Back, "Balls of Fury" is Done, and Stu is "Sim"ed.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz was so anxious to get things started for our
weekend wrap-up podcast that he talks over our intro music, but that's okay
because we both have so much to talk about. Stu got the privilege of attending
the last Chicago Cubs game of the season and witness the culmination of
the last 99 years of Cub history. Me, I had a chance to go to the game but opted
out to feverishly finish our
"Stu & The Dude Reviewin' the Movies for You!" episode of "Balls of Fury"
before it's totally out of theaters.
With the Cubs done with their season I also fill Stu in on the Chicago Bears and how they are turning their season around and now are destined for the Super Bowl. We also discuss The Chicago Marathon, especially since neither of us had any delusions of running in it, even without the high temperatures of the day. Stu, meanwhile, has become an addict and might need an intervention soon. Nope it's not alcohol and it's not drugs - his lawn still needs mowing because he's becoming addicted to the MySims for his Nintendo Wii.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "The Big Bang Theory" and More TV, The Cubs and More Sports, and eBay Dummies.
By:
The Dude on the Right
On a dreary Monday, after a Chicago Bears' loss, nothing brings joy to my heart
like chatting with Stu Gotz about our weekends
for our podcast. Thank God Stu was around to actually participate, so we
chat a lot about new TV, especially "The Big Bang Theory," a little about
"Chuck," Stu got weepy at Flower’s death on "Meerkat Manor," and
I’m getting sucked into "The Bachelor" again.
On the movie front I regale Stu with my tales of seeing "The Kingdom," while he gives his breakdown of his Netflix viewing of "The Darwin Awards." It also being the Monday after a Bears' game we also talk some sports, especially since the Chicago Cubs won their Division and are in the playoffs. Stu also gets worked up a lot, especially about a stupid eBay bidder and helping an elder with a computer, so he drops a few F-Bombs here and there, but just feel lucky that you didn't get to see him scratch his balls.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! A Family Outing, Watching Movies, Chicago Sports, and Breaking in Shoes.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz is back from his cruising the highways and byways of these United
States with the Gotz family, in his tenement on wheels, and rejoins me for this
week's
Weekend Wrap-Up Podcast! Stu talks a tad about his trip and his seeing "Invincible"
and "Shooter,"
while I tell Stu to stay away from "Good
Luck Chuck," even though it has tons of what Stu likes to see, namely boobs.
We also breakdown, well, I breakdown The Chicago Bears loss to the Dallas
Cowboys yesterday, and hope the Chicago Cubs can hang on and not have the worst
collapse, or at least one of them, in baseball history. Stu also tells me the
proper way to break in new running shoes, or at least his way, sadly two days
too late for the back of my heels, and we are both excited about the new TV
season starting, especially the return of "Heroes," but were disappointed in the
Christian lady who bolted from the "Welcome to Our Land" ceremony on last
week's "Survivor."
Thanks for listening.

O.J. Simpson, The Bears, The Browns, Mr. Woodcock, Once, The Emmy's, and No Stu.
By:
The Dude on the Right
It's a Monday which would normally mean it's a Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!
Podcast, but sadly Stu Gotz is traveling in his RV, or as he calls it his
"Tenement on Wheels," with Mama Gotz, the two little Gotz's, and the two dog
Gotz's. Lucky him! In any case, that leaves me flying solo
for this podcast which had more things happening over the weekend than I can
fully discuss in about fifteen minutes, but I give it a try.
I've got football talk about the Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns; I've got talk about O.J. Simpson being arrested in Las Vegas; I've got talk about the movies I saw over the weekend, namely "Mr. Woodcock" and "Once"; And we find out that you might not be able to say "Goddamn," "Screwing," or mouth the word "Shit" on broadcast TV anymore. We found that out during the Emmy Awards last night, and also found out having an award show "In-The-Round" probably isn't a good idea. I just can't believe the Fox folks censored Frog from "Smokey and The Bandit." Welcome to "We really aren't sure what we can broadcast anymore" TV.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Britney's Mom-Ass, "Shoot 'Em Up" Talk, and Smelly Coffee.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sneezing is a part of allergies sometimes, and Stu's nose is all full of
allergy, but he's muddling through it for
this podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Stu's weekend wasn't
that exciting, just finishing up his basement cleaning and being amazed at the
olfactory senses that his son possesses. Me, I regale Stu with my seeing
"Shoot 'Em Up," but for the most part both of us caught Britney Spears on
the MTV Video Music Awards so, much like everyone else broadcasting today, we
give our take. Stu totally recognizes Ms. Spears' mom-ass, and I almost feel
sorry for her. Sometimes I can be sympathetic, but I will say that the entire
VMA package was a complete train wreck. Even so, it's a good thing the
VMA's were on because I really didn't want to talk about watching the Chicago
Bears nor the Chicago Cubs respective losses, which I also viewed over the
weekend.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Stu is Leaking at Both Ends and The Dude Walks 10 Miles.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Well, Labor Day Weekend has come and gone so what better way to see if our lives
are exciting than by doing a
weekend wrap-up podcast! Stu, sadly, was waylaid by a lot of things
leaking, some of them human, and one structural. The leaking did allow him
to catch up on some TV watching, including the movie "Idiocracy"
on cable, and think about re-doing the Gotz basement. He also let the Gotz
boys get a good sugar buzz at a Chicago Cubs game, and even though the Cubs
lost, the Gotz family didn't think it was cool for the fans to boo Carlos
Zambrano.
Myself, I started my extended weekend with a viewing of "Balls of Fury" with Stu, and continued by seeing the Chicago Cubs win. I also caught the movie "Halloween," cleaned the dude-pad, and maybe more importantly, walked ten miles. No, not all in one day. Now if I could only follow my eating plan I would probably lose weight. Oh well.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Mr. Bean's Holiday," Stu Saw "Superbad," & The Dude Left His Pad.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sometimes I wonder how we fit it all in, but Stu Gotz is here for another
weekend wrap-up podcast so let's get to the summary before your listening
pleasure.
For this podcast the both of us saw "Mr. Bean's Holiday." Stu's perspective is a little different since he has kids, but we both liked the ending. Stu finally got to see "Superbad," and although Mama Gotz probably won't admit it, Stu says she sure laughed a lot and agrees that if we were best friends in high school, that yes, he would be Seth and I would be Evan. I question Stu about door etiquette, especially since I ventured out of The Dude Pad to interact with the outside world, and I also hoped for a bike accident while I went for a walk. I also tell Stu why I think Michael Jackson might actually be a good parent, thanks to seeing "Rescue Me," and Stu mentions The Gotz's Sunday Family Ritual, as well as his grass cutting woes.
But as summer is coming to a close that only means one thing: The Fall TV season is almost upon us. Shows like "My Name is Earl," "The Office," "The Biggest Loser," and "Survivor: China" are on their way, I have to prep my TiVo Season Passes, and Stu would like some help with his TiVo to see if he can really transfer shows to his laptop. Since I'll be back to watching TV again, we'll have even more to discuss in the fall.
See, I told you we talk about a lot of stuff!
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Illegal Aliens, RVing, "Superbad," and a Cubs Game.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz survived his first overnight getaway in the family RV so he is here for
this episode of our
weekend wrap-up podcast. As you can probably guess we will discuss Stu's RV
getaway where even the youngest Gotz realized mommy didn't have the appropriate
utensil for eating yogurt. For me the weekend was all about "Superbad,"
and how I think Stu could be the Seth character, other than the part of not
having sex before graduating high school. Stu saw "Hot
Fuzz" on his RV trip, lets me know what he thought the flick, and we both went to
see a Chicago Cubs game, got our floppy hats, got on TV, and even though Big Cooter didn't make it to the game, someone in our group took over his role.
Now as compelling as all of that is we also do some discussing about the
immigration debate, how we are both happy Elvira Arellano finally got deported,
and how one of the first things our grandparents did when entering the United
States was learn and, for the most part, always speak English. Sometimes we can be so serious.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Being Late Etiquette, "Rush Hour 3," A White Trash Picnic, and More.
By:
The Dude on the Right
So much to talk about and yet so little time, and with Stu Gotz around for this
podcast of our weekend wrap-up sometimes I have to pray my mother doesn't
listen. In any case this podcast delves into something near and dear to my
heart, "being late etiquette," and how our friend Whammy doesn't seem to have
it. I tell Stu about my seeing "Rush
Hour 3" and cleaning my fish tank. Stu, in the meantime, enchants me
with his story of the family's white trash picnic, and we both wonder if
Wal-Mart still lets you park an RV in their lot overnight. I let Stu know
our
location in Second Life is coming along and might be ready for visitors in a
couple of weeks, but Stu is afraid of Second Life because he read a story
(involving a lawsuit - kind of like real life) where you can get virtual body
parts that let you have virtual sex, and he really just wants to limit his
perversions to searching out normal internet porn because he fears if he went to
Second Life, well, he might cross the line looking for virtual world sex.
And would a weekend wrap-up podcast be complete without some TV talk? Of course not, so we've got some talk of "Rescue Me" and how I hope I don't see David Duchovney's ding-dong during "Californication."
Thanks for listening.

"Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "The Bourne Ultimatum," Debating - Gladiator Style in Chicago, Chocolate Rain, and Poo.
By:
The Dude on the Right
We had some slight audio issues to start
this podcast, or at least Stu Gotz and I thought we did, but maybe we're
just suffering from heat exhaustion since the both of us did so much work
outside this weekend. We happily share all of our outdoor exploits with
you during this episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-up!", and along with
all of our outside activities, I thrill Stu with my talk about "The
Bourne Ultimatum" and "Hot
Rod," two movies that I caught this weekend, and I actually overtook Stu in
watching "Rescue Me," ruining a couple of plot points for him from the last
episode.
Stu, though, is ahead on the "Entourage" viewing and loves "Who Wants to Be a Superhero," but that isn’t nearly as important as our discussion on how to make the Democratic debate at Soldier Field more exciting (think "Gladiator" combined with a wet t-shirt contest when it starts to rain, complete with Pay-Per-View). And as exciting as that might sound just remember, everything "Comes Down to Poo" and "Chocolate Rain," because sometimes there isn’t anything as compelling as poo, which, I suppose, could sometimes be chocolate rain.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "The Simpsons Movie," It's Not Stu's Fault, and Boinking Animals.
By:
The Dude on the Right
After weeks apart Stu Gotz and I are back together again for
this podcast, and because the news is so timely, only happening a couple of
weeks ago, I was happy to find out that Stu didn't find out who the Emmy
nominees are for “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics,” and I hip him to a
couple of the potential winners (Go Dick, boo Poo).
In other news Stu tries to defend himself after my last podcast stating he is not the reason I am chubby, and we both reminisce of our catching "The Simpsons Movie." Stu didn't do much else over the weekend, it seems he’s too busy listening to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Yup, that’s right, he’s too lazy to read the book and bought the audio version. His latest Harry Potter issues don’t seem to be helping his sex life any, but Mama Gotz got a free ride for the younger Gotz at a carnival, and Stu had to hip her as to the probable reason why.
Me, I missed "Entourage" yesterday, but Stu says I should watch it soon, something about animal boinking. Thank God for HBO On Demand - animal boinking here I come! Wait a minute, that sounds really wrong. I mean "Watching animal boinking, here I come!" I guess that doesn't seem to sound any better, now I'm just a voyeur and not a participant. Third times a charm - "Entourage," here I come!
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! An RV, Not Running Drugs, and Harry Potter.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu's back, barely, so we're back to our standard
podcast programming of a weekend wrap-up. I say Stu's back, barely, because
thanks to his not believing Mama Gotz would be diligent enough to find one to
his specifications, well, the Gotz family is now the proud owner of a
recreational vehicle. Yup, that's right, better than a family truckster, the
Gotz's have an
RV.
So, for Stu's weekend wrap-up, his was all about flying out to Arizona to drive
the thing back with his buddy, Cell-Phone John. He saw a giant cross,
got pulled over by a cop who helped him learn a thing or two about drug
smuggling, and made it back to the Gotz household at 3AM this morning. He
also explains why you can't always count on Google Maps to be correct in telling
you how long your trip will take (the Google folks seem to forget something very
important in their calculations).
Me, I wish my weekend was nearly as exciting as Stu's, but I kept it simple by seeing "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," of which I give Stu my take on the film, going for a walk, and working on our Second Life location. I also tell Stu that in his place next week I might try to persuade my niece to join me for a podcast. We'll see how that goes, but I doubt she'll grace me with her presence, so, instead, I might be flying solo.
Thanks for listening.

Stu's Gone, A Missed Opportunity, iPhone Ringtones, and Live Earth.
By:
The Dude on the Right
So I'm flying solo for
this podcast which normally would be a "Stu & The Dude Weekend Wrap-Up!",
but Stu is traveling the nation so for this one, well, it's just me. The
odd thing was that even though I didn't think I had much to talk about, fifteen
minutes flies by as I let you know I might have missed my chance for stardom,
namely by not becoming a "Survivor" contestant. It's also been over a week
since I've had my iPhone, and I love it, do not regret my buying decision
because I knew what I was getting when I got it, but am patiently waiting for
the ever-rumored software/firmware update to enhance my ringtone assignments.
For now all of my cool friends simply sound like an old phone ringing (I
couldn't go the distance and make them sound like ducks), but one day, again, I
hope, when Harry Caray starts spouting "It could be, it is!", well, I'll know
The Dude on the Left is calling me.
And since I couldn't stop talking for this podcast, watching "Live Earth" got me reminiscing about probably the best Stu Gotz line in a review, ever, located in his Melissa Etheridge review. Sadly her performance on "Live Earth" let me down.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Part 1 is Entertainment and Part 2 is Stu and his Stories.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sure, sometimes Stu Gotz and I have a lot to talk about, but Stu had a weekend
that was filled with just too many stories, and we could have talked for hours,
but to simplify things for you, well, this week's "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap
Up!" has been split in two.
Podcast Part 1 deals with mostly things entertainment like us planning on
seeing "Transformers," (They're more than meets the eye you know!), my obsession
and getting an iPhone (those Apple folks sure have their act together), I
skipped
"Ratatouille" after both Stu and Richard Roeper's reviews (Do kids
comprehend cooking?), I saw
"Live Free or Die Hard," and we talk TV about "Entourage" and
"Burn
Notice." I also saw a lady try to cram a patio set into her
convertible Jaguar.
But Stu's weekend wasn't a lot about entertainment so we put that into Podcast Part 2, and on his plate were things like getting an RV (Never give a woman, especially Mama Gotz, a challenge), where not to have pictures of your old girlfriend when you get a new woman (Like his buddy who had them in his "My Photos" folder), Baptism etiquette,is Mama Gotz a heathen, and Stu just can't let go of the photos his buddy has lost.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Kids are Turning Japanese, Journey Scores a Top 5 Single on Sirius, Wii Workouts, and Movie Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
This week's weather is looking hot, but the weekend was cool, just like Stu Gotz
and I, so cool in fact we are back with all of the cool stuff we did this
weekend in this episode of
"Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up" podcast. I hip Stu to the
resurgence of Journey, namely with "Don't Stop Believing" finding itself at
#5 on the Sirius Hits 1
Weekend Countdown. Stu also has what will hopefully be our last "Soprano"
story ever. Stu was wondering about his fathering abilities as one of the CD's
his kids love to listen to is a compilation of songs, with one of their
favorites being "The Monster Mash." The thing is that the CD also contains
"Turning Japanese" by
The Vapors,
and "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas, and as little boys will be little boys,
well, Stu wonders about the political incorrectness of his boys when they sing.
I think Stu might at well just get it over with and teach his kids the f-bomb
and s-bomb, but then again I don't have kids.
With the weekend also comes movies, and I give Stu my rundown of "Evan Almighty," and "1408," and being a little sad that "Live Free or Die Hard" which opens Wednesday will be rated PG-13.
Stu also has been getting some exercise lately playing his Nintendo Wii, although sadly he keeps losing at boxing to his 4 1/2 year old son. Little Stu obviously doesn't care about Big Stu's rope-a-dope or fancy footwork. I'm guessing Little Stu is just using the punch-a-dope boxing style, which for the Wii means, well, you'll just have to listen.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Stu's Early "Ratatouille" Review, More Movie Talk, and a Skin Flute.
By:
The Dude on the Right
A weekend full of movies brings Stu Gotz and me together for our
weekend wrap-up podcast. Stu Gotz gives his early opinion on the latest
Disney/Pixar flick, "Ratatouille," that had a sneak-peak screening over
the weekend. He also saw
"Ocean's Thirteen," and he liked it. Me, I tell Stu what I thought about
"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and that yes, he will probably
like
"Nancy Drew." We also do some reminiscing of movies in college, and
discuss sneaking beer into a movie theater in anticipation of the
"Transformers" movie opening soon. There's all that, Stu and I
realizing we need to get back on the diet and exercise wagon, and the podcast
starts out with some skin flute talk as heard on a TV station from Cleveland, O
Hi O.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Soprano Analysis, Stu Gets Exercise, The Dude's Cable Woes, and Big & Rich do AC/DC.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Nothing like the most talked about "Sopranos" episode ever to bring Stu Gotz and
I together to talk about our weekend during
this podcast. Of course we do our analysis of the series finale of
"The Sopranos," because, well, who hasn't, and it's complete with the changing
of our opening theme music. Stu, also, was quite the athlete this weekend,
doing some bowling, tennis, golf, baseball, and boxing all in the span of a
couple of days. You know what that means? Yup, he bought a Nintendo
Wii, but it's the way he bought it that is the story. At least he hasn't
thrown the remote, yet, like my sister did.
We also discuss my seeing "Ocean's Thirteen," Mama Gotz's not really seeing "Surf's Up," my life without TV for a couple of days, and I introduce Stu to a new version of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long," covered by Big & Rich. Stu can't wait to buy it, but me, not so much.
Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Importing Cicadas, "Knocked Up," Baseball, and Chicken Legs.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz’s kids got in the way of his seeing "Knocked
Up" and "The Sopranos," but at least his family may be involved in the
migration of the 17-Year cicadas to his neighborhood. He won’t know if their
science experiment worked until, well, 17 years from now, but the family antics
did lead to some fun discussions for this week’s
"Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast.
So what do we talk about? Well, along with transplanting cicadas (and Mama Gotz’s belief in siamese cicadas), Stu finally got to see "Spider-Man 3," and also questions some parenting skills involved with eating chicken legs. I do my best not to ruin the latest episode of "The Sopranos" for him, nor ruin "Knocked Up" as well (although I do mention about Chicago radio dude Jonathon Brandmeier seeing the movie where someone vomited during one scene). I also give my theory on why Chicago Cubs’ manager, Lou Piniella, is getting suspended for "bumping" into the umpire, and it’s mostly about Lou’s belly. The iPhone is also coming, June 29th, and our buddy Wimp gave us some simple advice, namely "Don’t drop it."
We could talk for hours, but still limit it to around 20 minutes, so thanks for listening, your comments, and just being cool for visiting our website.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Waitresses, Pirates, Walking, Baseball, Cornholing and Summer TV.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Memorial Day got in the way of our normal Monday podcast, but low and behold Stu
and I hooked up today to
chat about our weekend. Stu, he saw a baseball game, live and in
person, while I watched it on TV. We both saw
"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and I explain why little kids
shouldn't see it, and I saw
"Waitress" though Stu didn't. Stu is getting flustered, already, with
the summer TV season, but I'm happy it's sucking. Stu was saddened at the
death of Charles Nelson Reilly, while I worry about my townhouse development
burning down and should I be sad about missing the cornholing movement gripping
my townhouse community. We both are still excited about the "Transformers"
movie opening up July 4th, and Stu and Mama Gotz lost count on why Danny Ocean
now has 13.
So much to talk about, so little time. It's always the same.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Shrek" Talk, Stu Missed "The Simpsons," and Computer Woes.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu was back in town, and all we really had in common for our weekend was seeing
a movie, but in any case
"Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" is back, although a day late thanks to
some continuing computer issues.
We did both see a movie, and that movie, of course, had to be "Shrek the Third," especially since Stu has kids, and what else would I go see? We recollect our Shrek memories and rehash the film and Stu Gotz laments about missing the 400th "Simpsons" episode. Me, I've got computer woes which are making my uploading new content a pain in the ass, while Stu had travels that he really wanted to get out of. We know who wears the pants in the Gotz household! "Sopranos" talk is curtailed because Stu hasn't seen the latest episode, although I did spoil one line from the episode: "Get a mop."
Thanks for listening, and hopefully my computer woes will be fixed soon so I can get new things posted in a timely manner.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Second Life, Spider-Man 3, Yay for a Midas, and Marketing to Kids.
By:
The Dude on the Right
You would think that after all of our weekend wrap-ups Stu and I wouldn't have
so much trouble not talking over the intro music. Not so: We are
lately having issues getting our timing down, but since Stu was whistling, and I
couldn't, it's another episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!"
Stu's weekend was spent mostly counter-marketing the movie folks convincing his son that Spider-Man was great, and that to get great Spidey things they needed to visit the Burger King, which sadly for Stu, both of the King's store near him don't seem to be the cleanliest of locations. Me, on the other hand, spent my weekend trying to get a Second Life even though I'm not so sure about my first life, not getting screwed over when I went to get my brakes checked (thanks to the Midas at the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, IL.), and actually seeing "Spider-Man 3," which prompted Stu to question the hot-ness of Kirsten Dunst.
Want to know if I find Kirsten hot or not, what both Stu and I think might be Tony Soprano's fate, and if Yau Man can make it to the end of "Survivor: Fiji?" Then download and listen to this podcast episode!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Lame Movies, A Lame Weekend, and a Blower at a Ballgame.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Weekends are normally a time of excitement, a time of getting things done around
the house, of enjoying loved ones because you don't have the daily grind of the
weekday. Thank God Stu had an exciting story to tell because otherwise
this might have been the most boring episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend
Wrap-Up!" ever. My weekend was basically spent working on the
Entertainment Ave! redesign, making good headway in The Movie Theater section
(even though I didn't see any movies), and enjoying about two hours of the
fantastic weather we had in Chicago. I also had an issue with some meat,
so Stu recommended I visit Beecher Illinois and its meat shop.
Stu, on the other hand, went to see a ballgame, where he and Mama Gotz witnessed a blower at a ballgame.
We did talk a bit about the movie "Idiocracy," about "The Sopranos," about "Heroes," and Stu saw "Idol Rewind," witnessing the brilliance that would be Kelly Clarkson while wondering what happened with the talent on this season's "American Idol."
Want to know what exactly "a blower at a ballgame" is. Well, download and listen to the podcast.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Alanis' Humps, Movies to See or Not to See, and T.V. Sweeps are Coming.
By:
The Dude on the Right
First it was the Chicago Cubs getting in the way, then a nor'easter kept Stu at
bay, and then Stu and I actually recorded our weekend wrap-up but I had a
brain-fart and left my mobile podcast studio at Stu's. So it may be a
couple of weeks, and a day or a few dollars short late, but finally Stu and I
are back for our weekend wrap-up!
We had a lot to talk about, but not enough time, so I quickly introduced Stu to a fantastic version of "My Humps" by Alanis Morissette. And then it was off to the races as I told Stu he should see "Hot Fuzz," he told me not to see "Meet the Robinsons," and how him and Mama Gotz disagreed on "Rocky Balboa." Quickly things shifted to television where lots of shows are starting back up again, namely "Heroes," and I let Stu know that I am getting sucked into "Entourage," and that next week (April 29th) is supposed to be the episode with Artie Lange from The Howard Stern Show.
We also enjoyed a super-nice weekend weather-wise in the Chicago area, and reminisced college days when we used to hang out on the roof of the fraternity house, and how I once finished up my Vicodin prescription by getting a sun tan.
Next week should be a little bit less scatterbrained, since we'll only have one weekend to wrap up, but for now feel free to download and listen.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Freaky Fraternity Visitors, Movie Talk, and Nice Easter Eggs.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Baseball is coming, and so is Easter, and Stu Gotz joins me for another
podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!"
This episode opens with me questioning Stu if fraternity life has changed as much as a news report seems to say it has, and he reminds me of the foot-fetish caller that dialed our fraternity house during meals. We also talk a little bit about "Blades of Glory," but I let Stu know that if he wants to see a great movie, "The Lookout" might want to make it to his list.
We both were up to date that Donald Trump didn't get his head shaved for "Wrestlemania," although neither of us actually thought it would be The Donald's hair getting the cut. Stu's weekend also took an interesting turn at an Easter Egg Hunt where, while Stu was filming his kids, a friend of his comes up and starts commenting on the Easter Eggs on the MILF's at the hunt. Stu's got some video editing to do if he wants to actually show this video to his kids.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Trump Wants The Dude, Stu Saw Some Nija Turtles, The Dude Saw a Sniper and a Sandler, and Bad Starbucks' Etiquette.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu sneezed. You couldn't hear the sneeze because he turned his mike off,
but trust me, he sneezed. I burped, and trust me, you can hear me burp
because I didn't turn off my mike. Stu Gotz has better manners than I do,
and as disgusted as he might have been with mine he goes ballistic about
someone's lack of Starbucks' etiquette. And so we are here for another
episode of
"Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!"
Starbucks aside, and the NCAA March Madness aside (since I'm now officially a loser in all of my pools), pretty much for both me and Stu our weekends were about movies and enjoying the nice weather. Me, I saw "Shooter" and "Reign Over Me," and let Stu know whether or not he should add either to his Netflix cue. Stu, surprisingly for me, went to see "TMNT," that's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and lets me know that if I had kids, or a Netflix cue, that I shouldn't plan on trying to see the film.
I also brag to Stu about how important I must be because Donald Trump sent me a letter. Well, not really a letter, but an invite to a seminar complete with George from "The Apprentice." It doesn't look like The Donald will be there, and Stu is still wavering if he wants to come along. I still have to check my schedule if I want to give up this internet career for one in real estate, although I bet the real estate career might pay better.
I did forget to remind Stu about our rallying cry for another week, or at least Tuesday night with "American Idol" coming up, and that is simply: "Vote for Sanjaya!"
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Vote for Sanjaya, Movie Talk, Chris Rock, Building Shelves, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
I think Stu is now on board the
"Vote for Sanjaya" train! Yup, Stu Gotz is here for another
unbelievable episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!", and what an
action-packed
podcast it is. I fill Stu in on the beginning of last weekend's
"Saturday Night Live" where
Chris Rock kicked off the show, and I am a little off during the podcast
because Carol Burnett tugged her ear for her grandmother and not her mother, but
in any case she is suing "The Family Guy" folks. I remind Stu about coming
on board the
"Vote for Sanjaya" train, and he suggests we start an e-mail and cell-phone
texting list to remind people when to vote and what number to call. Stu
got to see "Premonition" and is fascinated by Sandra Bullock's butt, while I saw
"I Think I Love My Wife" and think Chris Rock lost focus of exactly what the
film was supposed to be.
Then there is some NCAA Basketball talk (Go Salukis!), a redesign of mostlyentertainment.com, I might try to lose weight again, and Stu tries to build some wacky shelves but mostly just pisses off Mama Gotz.
And, oh yea, I've also got mini bananas.
See, I told you it's an action-packed episode!
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Bet on Heather's Leg, Happy Birthday Stu, A Trip to Ohio, and "300."
By:
The Dude on the Right
For
last week's episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up" Stu Gotz told a
great story about boobs during his trip to Las Vegas. For
this week's episode I only went to visit the parents in Ohio, and my stories
have nothing to do about boobs, but I do have exciting topics such as bad radio
bits, bizarre restaurant reviews, people who can't divide $30,000, and whistling
an Abba song. Along with that we both talk a bit about the latest South
Park episode, "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson," and Stu Gotz celebrated a
birthday without getting what he really wanted for a birthday present.
I also give Stu my recap of the movie "300," and if I ever get to writing the review, I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars, and maybe I'll also place a bet on Heather Mills and her leg.
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "dirt," Movie Talk, and A Sweet 16 Party vs Vegas.
By:
The Dude on the Right
What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, but Stu isn't one to always
keep his mouth shut, so for this episode of
"Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up" I really have to remember that family
comes first because thanks to my travels to my niece's birthday party, I missed
a once-in-a-lifetime event. Sure, it was my niece's 16th birthday party,
and I suppose that is a once-in-a-lifetime event, but it was nothing like the
one Stu and The Dude on the Left witnessed in Vegas, one that I could have been
a part of, but my travel money was spent on going to Houston instead of Las
Vegas. "Family comes first." "Family comes first." "Family
comes first." "Family comes first." I have to keep reciting that
otherwise, when I win the Mega-Millions tomorrow night, I might just hold a
grudge against my sister (hey, it is technically her fault my niece's 16th
birthday was in January) and say something like "No money for you!" And if
my sister somehow wins the Mega-Millions game, I really hope she remembers that
I came down to help create the worst balloon drop ever, instead of going to
Vegas.
Anyway, while Stu was out in Vegas, witnessing the unbelievable, I caught the movies "Black Snake Moan" and "Wild Hogs," and watched my Tivo'd episode of "dirt" which sadly wasn't the episode where Jennifer Aniston kisses Courteney Cox, but it did have a nice homage to "South Park," almost. Those bastards.
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Academy Award Talk, "Reno 911!: Miami," and a Children's Museum.
By:
The Dude on the Right
I have really got to stop planning doing anything the morning after The Academy
Awards, which they schedule at 3 hours, because there is no way in hell it ever
lasts, well, 3 hours. As bad as it was for us in the Midwest, I'm sure the
East Coast folks dropped off way before the major awards were announced,
because, well, the Awards ended at around 11:20 PM my time, which puts them
around 12:20 AM East time. Stu Gotz didn't watch much of them, because he
was smart, but for this episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up" I start by
giving Stu my take on the Oscars, how I was bummed
"Pan's Labyrinth" didn't win its major award, and need to go back, thanks to
listening to Howard Stern,
and rent "Caligula."
I also tell Stu why he should go and see "Reno 911!: Miami" and Stu tells me that if you have kids, or are dating a dudette with kids, a good place to go in Chicago is the Chicago Children's Museum. He also explains that another great place to visit is the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, and was amazed at the size of the Komodo Dragon. It ain't a small lizard.

What's New? Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Britney Spears, The Daytona 500, and "Ghost Rider" Talk.
By: The Dude on the RightNot even a crash during The Daytona 500, resulting in someone crossing the finish line, upside down, and on fire, could keep me and Stu from getting together today for our latest installment of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" And so we got together, to chat.
Stu wanted to rant about Britney Spears, especially after her latest haircut episode. I understood his point, but thinking about it now, maybe her Aunt that just past away was her only true friend. From the life she has led I wonder if she has those true friends, like most of us have, who have the ability to stop us from, well, shaving our heads and getting tattoos, unless, of course, all of use are totally shit-faced at the same time.
Both of us saw "Ghost Rider," and neither of us thought it really sucked. Me, I watched The Daytona 500, where 3/4 of the race was a tad dull, and then all hell broke loose where it was a cross between, well, NASCAR, and "Talladega Nights."
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Bag-Lady, "Norbit," Scuba Diving, and TV Talk.
By: The Dude on the RightStu is back from his travels, so I'm not flying solo for this installment of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!"
Stu's weekend was capped by a lot of scuba diving stuff, complete with a night out with way-competitive scuba folks (thankfully they weren't diving, or with knives) and meeting the "Deep Sea Detectives." His travels last weekend also took him to Disney's Pirate and Princess Party where he dressed up Mama Gotz in a skimpy pirate outfit, and makes fun of the dudes who didn't grow a pair and dressed up as Prince Charming. He wouldn't elaborate on any Pirate booty he may have gotten, but the kids were with him so there was probably nothing to brag to the guys about.
Me, I saw a dear old friend of mine, The Bag-Lady, with her daughter, and could still kick myself in the ass for not going to see her daughter's tennis match in lieu of seeing "Norbit." I give Stu some of my take on The Grammy Awards telecast, as well as my initial thoughts about the new season of "Survivor."
So much to talk about, so little time.
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Go Bears! And Movies, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Sweet Sixteen Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu was treated to a change in our theme music, at least for a few weeks, and
with Stu involved it must be another episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend
Wrap-Up!" Me, I'm psyched, because the
Chicago Bears beat up
the New Orleans Saints, and now it's the Bears v. the
Colts (of Indianapolis of
course) in Super Bowl XLI.
Aside from tattoo questioning, and wondering if Tony Dungy is bummed because
Lovie Smith will now always be known as the first black head coach to lead a
team to the Super Bowl, only because the Colts had the later game, Stu is
worried I'm going to start painting my face and belly. Both of us also saw
some movies, mine being
"Pan's Labyrinth," while Stu took his kids to see "Arthur and The
Invisibles."
Stu thinks I might be able to pull off wearing two ties to my niece's Sweet Sixteen party, and doesn't seem to find Sacha Baron Cohen's speech at The Golden Globe Awards nearly as amusing as I did.
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: "Alpha Dog" Talk, Football Talk, Weather Talk, and Anniversary Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
The snows didn't come last night, much to my dismay, so I had to hook up with
Stu and get our weekend wrap-up done. For this one I question the
qualifications of our Chicago meteorologists, but not Cleveland's
Dick Goddard, Stu, though, would rather talk about the Chicago Bears,
and how he was pissed that he liked Justin Timberlake's performance in
"Alpha Dog" because he can't stand Mr. Timberlake. Stu also wonders
why one page of the Chicago Sun-Times sport's section just seems to deal with
pictures of hot chicks (of which I fail to see the problem with that), and he
can't understand the hubbub of being married for five years.
Thanks for listening and your comments.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Birthday Elvis!, A trip to the Eye Doctor, and a Technical Weekend.
By:
The Dude on the Right
You guessed it! Stu was there, and I was there also, both of us in front of the microphones, so
it's time a another podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Stu,
being a minister, is planning for the big wedding of our staff members The Dude
on the Left and Trash, if he can get them both drunk enough to marry them while
they are all in Las Vegas. He also went to his local Wal-Mart with his
family to get their eyes checked (they all still have them), and wonders about
customer service. Me, my weekend was mostly about technical crap and
watching football.
There's also some discussions about the Chicago Bears upcoming playoff game, movie talk even though we didn't see any movies over the weekend, and I give Stu the rundown on "The Apprentice Los Angeles" and "The Knights of Prosperity."
And finally I enlighten Stu's day by informing him that Calvin and Hobbes is alive and well (or at least the comic strips are being re-run), thanks to gocomics.com (the RSS link is in the "Tools" menu).
And don't forget, "Elvis has left the building."

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Stu Talks "Night at the Museum," The Dude Talks "Dreamgirls," and Stu Worries About "The Sopranos."
By:
The Dude on the Right
It's a new year, and it's a new episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!"
It's actually sort of a holiday wrap-up since we haven't gotten together since
before Christmas. Of course we talk about Saddam Hussein and the hanging
video, a lot of folks thinking Jesus will make his way back in 2007, and I
wonder why Britney Spears falling asleep is news. Stu took his kids to see
"Night at the Museum" while I saw "Dreamgirls."
We also talk some football with the playoffs coming up, Stu worries about the
upcoming season of "The Sopranos," and still wishes "Carnivàle"
would get renewed since he wants some questions answered.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: SNL Suggests a Gift For Your Girl, Stu's Looking for an Angel, and The Dude is Looking for Puzzles.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Christmas is coming for us Christian folk, and Stu Gotz and I talk about some
things affecting us this weekend, before the weekend, before the big day.
Stu missed going to the zoo with his family because the weather folks messed up
their forecast for Sunday, while thanks to watching
Saturday Night
Live (look for "A Special Christmas Box," and be over 18), I give Stu a
suggestion as to what he might want to give Mama Gotz for the special day.
Stu is also looking for an Angel for the top of his Christmas tree (she needs to
have a big butt,) and me, well, I can't seem to find any jigsaw puzzles.
There's also some talk about murder,
happyness, and my TiVo hating the Sci-Fi channel.
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: "Apocalypto" and Childbirth, The Bears, and How to get a Cheap Christmas Tree.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Christmas is coming, and Stu Gotz shares his secret to getting very inexpensive,
and even free, Christmas trees. We both talk a bit about "Apocalypto,"
and Stu states that no woman better complain about how trying her giving birth
was without seeing what Jaguar Paw's wife had to go through. Stu also
wonders why there is going to be another "Rocky"
movie, even though both of us agree we will probably go and see it. I also
breakdown my end of the year TV viewing, Stu doesn't like "30 Rock" as much as I
do, and we both love "My Name is Earl." Sadly, my TiVo seems to hate "Battlestar
Galactica."

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Vin Diesil, X-Mas Cards, The Colonel's Great Grandson, Karen With Nice Boobs, and Six Degrees of Movie Quotes.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Much to the delight of some, the disgust of others, and the utter non-interest
of the rest, Stu and I are back for our Weekend Wrap-Up Podcast. My
weekend was filled with fun and merriment and a little booze as I got together
with some friends from college, and I fill Stu in on some of the happenings I
can remember. These include meeting someone who claims to be related to
Colonel Sanders, meeting someone with nice boobs, and just having a good time.
Stu, meanwhile, is having issues with Mama Gotz and Christmas cards, and watched
"Find
Me Guilty" with Vin Diesel. Stu also comes up with a new game dealing
with six degrees of movie quotes. My first challenge for him:
Connect "I'll never let go, Jack" to "His nose is cold" via six movies.
Excitement abounds!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Capon Talk, The Dude's a Bad Uncle, and Stu Saw a Parade.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Back from our respective Thanksgiving weekends, Stu Gotz and I had stories to
tell, especially me since Stu's homework assignment for me during our last
podcast was to have a funny story about my holiday. Stu's weekend seemed
sort of tame, catching the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade with his family, and
his shopping on Black Friday, able to hit Toys "R" Us (which had a decent line),
Office Max (which had no line), and Target (which had women stealing from
carts). Me, I regaled Stu with my story about the Thanksgiving capon, and
how I'm a bad uncle for taking my 15 year old niece to see "Borat."
I also hate building my Christmas display, and Stu looks for my analysis on the
latest Chicago Bears' game. And there is so much more!
Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Stu's Done with "The Family Guy" and "Happy Feet," The Dude Does "Casino Royale" and Wonders About a "Food Source Not Known."
By:
The Dude on the Right
Thank God in Heaven because Stu Gotz is back town and I was able to send Lou
packing for now! That means Stu and I give our weekend wrap-up, and as he
questions me as to what I've been up to while he's been gone, I can't really
remember. He got to see "Happy Feet" with his kids and did he like it?
Not so much. Me, I tell him of my escapades seeing "Casino
Royale." Stu was also a little worried one of
our favorite restaurants might be on the City of Chicago's
shut-down-because-of-shit list, or just shut down for health code violations,
but happily it wasn't on the list.
There was a place, though, with an unknown food source, and you
stereotypically might think is was a Chinese restaurant, but it wasn't.
We also try to catch up on our TV viewing, and Stu wants me to come back from my Thanksgiving travels with a good story and an interesting picture. We'll see how that goes.
In any case, it's good to have Stu back because I don't think I could have survived another podcast with Lou filling in.
Thanks always for visiting, and thanks for listening.

Lou & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: "Stranger than Fiction" and House Cleaning, with Special Guest Lou.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu is still out of town so I enlisted a friend, Lou, to sit in for what this
week is "Lou & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up." Looking back now, this seems
like a mistake.
In any case we hear about Lou trying to pick up "babes" in Orlando, and his wondering if Brad Pitt's baby was in the "Babel" movie since Will Smith has his son in Will's next flick. He also wasn't able to see "Borat," but I at least do my best to tell him a little about "Stranger than Fiction" and why sometimes men have to clean their house. Lou does have one compelling reason why I should run for Governor instead of President, and even tries to come up with a song for me.
Lou's a weird dude. I really hope Stu will be back next week because I don't think I can take another week of Lou.
Thanks always for visiting, and thanks for listening.
