A Review by
The Dude on the Right
I never saw "Toy Story" in the theaters. Finally, I think it was over Christmas a couple of years ago I saw it while visiting my sister. The computer geek in me was fascinated by the animation, the kid in me loved the story, and the adult in me loved the hidden jokes set for adults but laughed at by children for a different reason. Happily, oh so happily, the Toy Story people did it again, even better I think, in the likes of "Toy Story 2."

We've got most of the same cast of characters in "Toy Story 2." This time the story revolves around Woody being "kidnapped" by an evil toy collector, ready to sell him off to an Asian museum. Buzz and the rest of the gang set out to rescue their friend while Andy is off at camp. Woody, though, has found a life he didn't know he had, as a toy hero, thanks to the likes of Jessie. While his friends are having their adventures finding Woody, Jessie opens Woody's eyes to the fact that one day Andy won't play with him anymore. She's been locked up in a box for low these many years and is looking forward to being a display item, and works to convince Woody that rather than face the harsh reality of Andy eventually putting Woody aside. But it is Woody who opens her eyes, how it would be better to be a toy that is played with for one more day than on display.

Sure, there is more than that, but come on, do I need to explain it. Graphics-wise "Toy Story 2" is even better than the first, adding just phenomenal things like dust and a great scene of cheese curl eating, but what keeps "Toy Story 2" a step above the first is that they were able to make a story that is even more fun that the first. This time we get funny lines geared at the "Star Wars'" films, we get the same adult humor that makes the kids laugh for a different reason, and we get just one of the most enjoyable movies out there.

I'll keep this short and just say go see "Toy Story 2." Another great story. Another great movie for kids and adults. Another story that makes you wonder exactly what your toys would say if they could talk. And this time a story that might make you wonder what happened to that favorite toy you gave away, kinda sad you tore apart your Stretch Armstrong to see what was inside, or bit the toes off of your Barbie. It's 5 stars out of 5!

That's it for this one! I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
