The Tigger Movie
A Movie Review

A Review by
The Dude on the Right
What’s wrong with this picture?  Me, Big Cooter, and Whammy going to see “The Tigger Movie.”  It was Whammy’s idea, Big Cooter figured he’d tag along, and me, well, it’s been just about forever since I’ve seen a classic-style Disney movie, especially in a theater, so I said “Sure, I’ll go.”  The other thing wrong with this picture?  I think Whammy, Big Cooter, and I seemed to enjoy the movie more than the kids in the audience.  Maybe I’m just a kid at heart, maybe I just needed to see something like “The Tigger Movie,” but I enjoyed it.

A classic Winnie the Pooh movie, “The Tigger Movie” brings together Pooh, Tigger, Ru, and the rest of the gang for a story of Tigger trying to find his family.  Tigger, ever the jovial, bouncing self, finds himself kind of sad because no one wants to bounce with him – they’re all too busy preparing for winter, and then realizes that no one is like him, just like his song says, but he wishes someone was like him, just wanting to bounce.  Ru tries to help him, but Tigger is now on a quest to find his family.  The rest of the gang hatch a plan to show Tigger he has a family, but Tigger mistakes it that his family is coming to visit.  The others know that won’t be the case, Tigger sets off in a blizzard to find more Tiggers, but the story has the happy ending you would expect as Christopher Robin helps them all.

A standard tale, Eyore ended up being my favorite with me busting a gut just about every time he was on the screen, Pooh was his bear-old self, and the movie just goes to show that sometimes kid’s stories are still the best.

As for the kids at the show, like I said, they didn’t seem to laugh like I laughed, they didn’t seem to get the “Tigger Family” song (classic shot of the Tigger Brady Bunch family, Tiggers as chorus line dancers, and just good, clean fun), but I didn’t hear too many kids squirming a lot so I suppose it did keep them engrossed in the movie.

And so, with that, I’ve got to get to more Disney movies I think.  I give “The Tigger Movie” 4 stars out of 5.  I would have given it 5 stars, but I almost had a coronary with the Lou Bega “Mambo #5 for Disney” opening.  The kid in me enjoyed it and Eyore is a riot.

That’s it for this one!  I’m The Dude on the Right!!  L8R!!!
