Although this movie is on the indie circuit, I’m hoping it
makes its way to my local gigaplex because it looks very
entertaining. Don Cheadle, who is usually fantastic in
anything he plays, is “Petey” Green. He’s been in jail and
sort of becomes the prison’s official DJ. In Washington
D.C., he’s hired at a radio station and begins his outspoken
radio show mixed with music. He likes to tell it like it is,
and in the midst of racial turmoil in the 1960’s, sometimes
he seems to be the voice of reason.
Like I said, Cheadle is usually great, and the trailers
for the movie show him doing another fantastic job. If I
can’t catch it in the theater, this will be high on the DVD
priority list.
