This is a remake, I guess, of the movie that came out in 1975, but
what really caught my eye was Frank Oz being the director. His resume
is fantastic so that leads to much hope that this could really be a
great film, but, there are some rumors out there that this film is
having problems. I hope not.
In any case, pretty much the story is that Joanna (Nicole Kidman)
moves to Stepford, and makes friends with Bobbie (Bette Midler).
They
make a discovery that the wives of Stepford are actually robots (what
more could a man want!). Now Joanna is freaked because it seems her
husband, played by Matthew Broderick, is getting interested in having
the perfect wife and getting rid of Joanna.
There are a lot of good names in this film, and I’m always a fan of
Christopher Walken, so we’ll see how things shape up as we get closer
to its release date.
