Super Troopers
A Movie Review

MPAA Rated - R

It's 1:40 Long

A Review by
The Dude on the Right
You will probably laugh when you go see "Super Troopers," whether you want to or not. You will either laugh out of amusement of what may be one of the dumbest movies out there, or you will laugh because it may be one of the dumbest movies out there. Here we go…

"Super Troopers" lets us into the world of a wacky group of highway patrol officers in Vermont. Not much happens on their stretch of highway, so our group of goofballs get their kicks by messing with the stoners and assorted speeders who have no clue what they’re in for. Then of course there are their continuous pranks on each other. The problem is that the State is planning on closing their trooper station because, well, of complaints and the simple fact that they don’t seem to be needed, that the arch rivals of the troopers, the City cops, could cover their beats. This doesn’t sit well for our troopers, and when a drug smuggling/murder case lands in their jurisdiction, the troopers know if they can make the City cops look like boobs, well, the Governor would have no choice but to keep the station open.

But the story doesn’t really matter about this comedy, it’s the comedy antics of our Super Troopers that try to keep you laughing, and lest I give away any of these laughs, I will just say these few things… Some of the jokes are sick, some of the jokes are slapstick, some of the jokes are even funny, but most of the jokes will make you laugh even if the movie itself is pretty dumb.

More like an "Animal House," "Vegas Vacation," or "Stripes," but not up to that caliber, this is a comedy that does push the line, but steers away from the gross-out humor that you might be used to seeing now. Now what you are getting into and you’ll probably laugh a lot during "Super Troopers." Expect a masterpiece and you’ll be disappointed. Then again, The Dude on the Left went into the movie thinking it would be bad, commented as we left how bad the movie was, but he sure seemed to laugh a few times, or maybe they were more like groans. I guess I might just be a little more easily amused. It’s 3 stars out of 5.

That’s it for this review! I’m The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
