Gosh, this is such a tough call. The potential is there, but why do
you try to re-make a movie when the original is such a classic?
The story is supposedly the same, inmates fight the prison guards,
and Paul (Adam Sandler), the quarterback, is told by the warden to
throw the game and he can get out of jail early.
The trailer shows the typical funny stuff you might expect in a
comedy about inmates playing a football game against the guards, you
know, things like the tryouts, the practices, and the bringing in a
coach (played by Burt Reynolds) who can whip the team into shape. But
is this enough to make another classic? I’m not so sure, but the movie
will probably be huge because it simply has Adam Sandler in a funny
role again.
I’ll most likely catch this one, I just hope it’s funny.
