Ahh, a movie inspired by true events, usually meaning some of it is sort of true, but some of it has to be punched up a bit to make a better movie. Even so “In the Valley of Elah” looks to be a really good film on the indie side of Warner Bros.

Pretty much the story is a soldier returns back from Iraq, alive and with all of his limbs. At first the family is happy, but then the kid goes missing. Dad is played by Tommy Lee Joes and mom is played by Susan Sarandon, and both of them smell some shenanigans since their son actually made it back to the States, and now disappears. But Dad is a war veteran, with a lot of street smarts, and he starts to investigate things, butting heads at times with the detective played by Charlize Theron who actually is on dad’s side.

You’ve got a great cast, you’ve got Paul Haggis of “Crash” fame directing what is sure to be an emotional thriller, and even though some parts of the story might be changed to make it movie-friendly, if this one makes it way to my gigaplex I’ll try to see it.

That’s it for this preview! I’m The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
