It’s the late 1800’s. Hidalgo is Frank’s horse, with
Frank being played by Viggo Mortensen. It seems Frank and his horse
are pretty good together, enough to get them, well at least Frank, to
be considered best rider in the western lands while he worked for the
US Cavalry. It also seems that there is this horse race called the
Ocean of Fire across the Arabian Desert which was pretty much only
open to the wealthy with pure-bred Arabian horses. Lastly it seems
Frank gets invited to the race, where no one really wants to see him
even finish the race, let alone win it.
I know this should be a good action movie, but can I get wrapped
into the story enough about a horserace set in the late 1800’s? I
don’t know, but I’ll probably catch it anyway.
