What’s New? A Podcast of: A Chubbier Nephew, Lorain, and A Christmas Tradition.

The Dude on the Right is home from home for the holidays and worries that his nephew is trying to be a little too much like him. Such is one of the musings for this podcast. The Dude is also closer to being “street” thanks to a gift from his niece, and as a gift back he takes his 16 year old to another R-Rated movie, this time “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” The Dude’s movie review should follow soon.
Anyway, he also ponders his mother being in the hospital over Christmas, looks forward to seeing a boatload of movies over the upcoming weekend, and wonders if any college students realize the impact that Momofuku Ando had on their life’s, or even celebrated Mr. Ando’s life hearing about his death back in January of 2007. If you are a college student you should probably chug a beer, that you can now afford, thanks to the invention by Momofuku Ando.

A Chubbier Nephew, Lorain, and A Christmas Tradition.

The Dude on the Right

So I’m home from home for the holidays and

what better way to celebrate than with a podcast
. As Christmas is always an
interesting trip to the old country of Lorain, OH, it occurred to me again that
whoever let a railroad be run along the lake front failed to see the future
value of said lake front in Lorain, especially with the loss of the Ford plant
and the reduction of the steel mill. But that wasn’t really the shock, what was
the shock was the weight gain of my nephew. I know he looks up to me, Uncle
Dude, but he shouldn’t try to look like me!  My niece gave me some bling
for a present, my mom was in the hospital (which sucks on one hand but had her
missing a blow-out on the other), and my Christmas tradition of taking my under
17 year old niece to an R-rated movie continued for the last time (next year
she’ll be 17) with a trip to see "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet
Street."

And in a story probably missed by many, even me, there was a death in
2007 of one of the most important people to affect the life of college students
everywhere – Momofuku Ando. If you want to know why, you’ll just have to listen.

I hope to do one more podcast for 2007 reflecting on this upcoming weekend
where I hope to see four movies, will probably watch the Chicago Bears win but
still suck, and maybe hint at my resolutions for 2008.  Then again, I might
just clean my fish tank.  We’ll see.

Thanks for listening and Happy New Year!

What’s New? A Podcast of: Merry Christmas, A Nasally Cold, A Parenting Book, Ringtones, and Shooting at Santa!

The Dude on the Right is still sporting a head cold for this podcast, but he powers through without mentioning the name “Jamie Lynn Spears.” Instead he mostly talks about Christmas and shooting at Santa. Also, since it’s the end of the year, those end of the year lists start popping up, with The Dude being surprised at how out of the loop he seems to be by not realizing the popularity of Shop Boyz and their hit “Party Like a Rock Star.” After hearing it, though, he might be adding the song to his exercise playlist. Sadly, though, it also means he may never hear it again.

Merry Christmas, A Nasally Cold, A Parenting Book, Ringtones, and Shooting at Santa!

I still have a head cold, but at least

for this podcast
I don’t have a shirt sleeve full of dry snot!  I do
want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, or whatever you are celebrating this
time of year, because unless I get really ambitious or one of my relatives wants
to participate in a podcast next Monday (though I doubt they have the guts), our
next podcast won’t be until next Thursday, after the celebrated day that most
music award winners need in their lives in order to win their awards.

I do
promise that, for this podcast, I don’t speak the name "Jamie Lynn Spears," and
after AT&T released their top ten ringtones of 2007, I realize I am so behind
the music curve because who knew Shop Boyz, with their hit song "Party Like a
Rockstar," was so popular, and after listening to it, I liked it and might add
it to my exercise playlist, and with the New Year upon us, the New Year’s
version of the ringtone might be a festive add to my iPhone.

On an ending
Christmas note, I do spotlight why Chicago is the better choice over Rio De
Janeiro for the upcoming 2016 Olympics, especially in the terms of our (I mean
Chicago’s) treating of Santa Claus.

Thanks for listening and Merry Christmas!

What’s New? Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up Podcast! They Both See Movies, The Dude has a Cold, and Stu’s Getting Old.

Stu Gotz and The Dude on the Right overcome some health issues to get together for another podcast of “Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!” They both saw “I Am Legend” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” so there’s discussions about the good and bad of those movies, while Stu’s Netflix queue gave Stu a good movie while The Dude recommends a movie Stu should add to the queue. They also discuss Dan Fogelberg‘s death where The Dude gets it correct, TV shows are wrapping up, and what better thing this Christmas season than Mr. Chocolate Rain, Tay Zonday, orating “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” at least The Dude on the Right thinks so.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! They Both See Movies, The Dude has a Cold, and Stu’s Getting Old.

The Dude on the Right

Even though I’m sporting a head cold, and Stu Gotz just got over one (go ahead,
make your own conclusions), we stuck it out and got together for another

episode of "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast.
  Both us saw

"I Am Legend"
and

"Alvin and the Chipmunks,"
so of course we dissect them. We also talk a bit
about the death of Dan Fogelberg, and I was correct, he died from prostate
cancer and not skin cancer which is what Stu thought. I also hip Stu to the
latest doings of Mr. Chocolate Rain,
Tay Zonday, while Stu
wonders what movies are coming out over the Christmas holiday (I
tell him, of course
).

There are a few more tidbits during our podcast, so
I don’t want to spoil them here, but let’s just say I’m not buying the fact that
Stu injured his right hand and arm doing real work, but rather doing something right-handed dudes are likely to do with their hand and arm.

Thanks for listening!

What’s New? A Podcast of: Hannah Montana, Baseball & Steroids, The Golden Globe Nominations, and Here Comes Santa!

The Dude on the Right is hoping during this podcast that a lot of baseball dudes get together and sue some of the major networks and radio shows for spouting that they did steroids even before the Mitchell Report came out, which then didn’t list them. He was also hoping Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus would be adding some new shows near his niece so he could try to get her tickets as the perfect Christmas present.
The Dude was also disappointed that the Golden Globe nominations didn’t include “Knocked Up” nor “Superbad” this year, and also wonders if Dewey Cox can out-funny McLovin? He also wants to lose weight next year, but what year doesn’t The Dude on the Right not want to lose weight?

Hannah Montana, Baseball & Steroids, The Golden Globe Nominations, and Here Comes Santa!

By:

The Dude on the Right

As Christmas is less than two weeks away I realized I need to kick into gear my
holiday shopping and would have had the perfect gift for my niece, but sadly
Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus isn’t playing near my niece with the newly released
tour dates.  Now I have to come up with something lame for her.  I
still might try to get tickets for Hannah’s next show in Chicago, though,
because as much as the curiosity in seeing her might be overwhelming, not seeing
Hannah might be even more exciting if I’m able to get a thousand bucks a ticket.

But this podcast
isn’t really about Hannah Montana, nope, I’m rallying some
sports’ figures to join together and sue a bunch of news outlets who said they
did steroids before the Mitchell Report was actually released. I also wonder
about the sense of humor of the members of the
Hollywood Foreign Press
Association
because they failed to nominate

"Knocked Up"
nor

"Superbad"
for a Golden Globe Award in the "Best Motion Picture – Comedy or
Musical" category.  I guess there were too many musicals this year for them
to be giddy about rather than a reason to laugh.  At least they did
nominate John C. Reilly for his role in

"Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,"
but since that movie hasn’t been released
yet, I can’t tell you if he was better than Christopher Mintz-Plasse, but I
doubt it because how can you top McLovin in "Superbad"?

"Survivor:
China"
is almost done and I’m putting my money on the skinny dudette, the TV
season is almost over, and it’s time to start thinking about your New Year’s
Resolutions.  Even though, during the podcast, I say that losing weight
will probably be on that list, now that I think about it I should have something
more realistic in mind, so I’m thinking that at the top of my resolution list
will be to win the Lottery.  One has to start on their life goals at some
time, don’t they?

What’s New? Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up Podcast: “The Golden Compass” Analysis, Weather Woes, and More Movie Talk.

Stu Gotz and The Dude on the Right reunite for another “Weekend Wrap-Up” podcast, and a lot of it deals with movies. They both saw “The Golden Compass,” discuss some things about “I Am Legend,” and Stu wonders how he let Mama Gotz hijack his Netflix queue. They also talk some football, mostly about the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins since the Chicago Bears have been sucking lately, they also talk some TV as the fall season winds up, and Stu thinks Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne aren’t relevant anymore. Send your complaints to stu@entertainmentavenue.com

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! “The Golden Compass” Analysis, Weather Woes, and More Movie Talk.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Stu Gotz and I brave the ice and snow to get together, but it will take a lot
more than Stu falling on his ass to stop us from doing our

"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast.
Both of our weekends were filled with
seeing

"The Golden Compass"
with both of us not really liking it.  Our
analysis is one for the Hollywood books!  And as we discuss a current film,
we also talk a bit about the upcoming "I Am Legend" movie, which I couldn’t
remember is based on a book from the 1950’s and a couple of films, namely

"The Last Man on Earth"
and
"The Omega
Man,"
and as much as Stu might want to add those movies to his Netflix
queue, it seems Mama Gotz has taken over the Gotz Netfilx selections, unless,
well, Stu has a thing for Marie Antoinette.

Sure, we talk a lot about movies,
but we also discuss some football, including the streaks of the New England
Patriots and Miami Dolphins, some TV with Mama Gotz’s solution to the writer’s
strike, and how Stu has no taste in music anymore, possibly costing me some
concert clearance.

Thanks for listening!
