What’s New? Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! Baseball, A Carnival, and Dogs.

This
might just be a first, but for

their "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast
neither The Dude on the Right nor
Stu Gotz saw a movie, and as such, can’t give you a movie review of anything
(although both of them will probably see

"Swing Vote"
next weekend).  They did, though, both see a Chicago White
Sox and Chicago Cub’s baseball game during the week, where The Dude’s BFF wasn’t
mortified at meeting any of The Dude’s friends (even at the Cub’s game where
some of them were slightly over-served), and Stu has found out that one of his
sons might be a future roller coaster enthusiast.  The boys also talk about
dogs and fish, and as Stu gives his scientific theory on boobies, well, he might
as well apply for a grant for further study because if someone can get a grant
to study the correlation between pedestrian accidents while texting, why not
give one to study the correlation of growth hormones and boobies?

Well
this is different.  Normally the

"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast
with Stu Gotz talks a lot about movies, but,
oddly enough, this weekend had neither of us actually going to see a movie, and
both of us are tired.  Yup, there’s only a little "Step Brothers"’ talk and
a little "The X-Files: I Want to Believe"’ talk, instead my weekend started by
being spent in the old country (that’s Lorain, OH, for those of you who don’t
normally follow my blog or our podcasts) where I comment on how, if the
residents of Lorain shoot down a $20 fee to improve the roads, well, they
deserve to live in a ghost town, and wonder why they are going to lengthen Tower
Blvd. rather than rebuild the original Tower Blvd.

But this podcast isn’t
really about a town that has tons of potential but right now is just a giant
speed bump, nope, a lot of this podcast is about baseball, namely seeing a
Chicago White Sox game last Monday where my BFF got to meet Stu and Mama Gotz,
and then yesterday where she got to meet
The
Dude on the Left
,
Trash,
Slick, Boner, and Stinky, saw Stu in a slightly different light than when she
met him last Monday, and her not being mortified at meeting four, slightly
over-served, college buddies of mine.

Stu,
though, did get to have some family time over his weekend by attending a local
carnival where he found out one of the Little Gotz’s might be a future roller
coaster enthusiast, Stu’s family has a new puppy that was almost dead, and I
explain to Stu why I have fish and have never gotten a dog.

And, oh yea, this podcast also gives Stu’s scientific analysis/theory of why he
thinks teenage girls are being endowed with larger boobies.

Finally, we do discuss the upcoming movies of next weekend,

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
and

Swing Vote
, and both agree that our significant others will probably want to
see Kevin Costner as a schlub rather than see another mummy movie.  The
strange part – both Stu and I, also, would rather see Kevin Costner as a schlub
instead of another mummy movie.

Thanks for listening!

What’s New? A Podcast of: Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! Nakedness, Lottery, Movies, and a Noid.

The
Dude on the Right couldn’t believe that he actually got naked on a Saturday,
well, sort of, and for

this episode of Stu & The Dude’s "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast
, he
explains his nakedness.  Both The Dude and Stu Gotz do their normal weekend
wrap-up about the movies they have seen, including "Mamma Mia!," "The Dark
Knight," and "Space Chimps," The Dude tells Stu about what he and his BFF have
been up to, and The Dude also tries to influence the attitude of Stu as to why
he still has a figurine of "The Noid."

Netlix rentals are topics of discussions, as is Stu getting a Mac, as is winning
the lottery, and as is, well, a wedding.

Sometimes the days of Stu and The Dude are very complicated.

The Dude on the Right

Sure, normally

the "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast
with me and Stu Gotz is posted on a Monday
night, but even though we recorded this episode yesterday, a trip to the Chicago
White Sox game (where the White Sox lost – bummer) got in the way of getting it
out in the internet for all to hear, although my BFF did
get to meet Stu and Mama Gotz at The Cell for the game, and that might be a topic of
conversation for next weekend’s wrap-up.  For this weekend wrap-up, though, I
tell Stu about my walking around naked on Saturday, thanks to my BFF getting me
some sandals to show off my "pedicured" feet, and I also tell Stu about a story
missed from the weekend before where my BFF and I won the lottery.

As is
normal for Stu and I, we do a lot of movie talk, with me discussing
"Mamma
Mia!,"
and both of us talking about "The Dark Knight," the Batman sequel where
Christian Bale is great as Bruce Wayne/Batman, except for his vocal affectations
when he is Batman, and the, as everyone else also professes, fantastic
portrayal that Heath Ledger gives The Joker.  Stu has some issues with the
movie, I have none, but then again, Stu also got to see "Space Chimps," because,
well, Stu’s got kids.

TV talk is also present in this podcast, Stu is becoming
a Mac guy, and I state my case to, well, Stu, as to why I still have a "Noid,"
and why no one should ever underestimate the power of
The Noid, and
although not part of this podcast, you also shouldn’t underestimate the power of
an M&M dude getting a sun-tan, nor a wind-up Mr. Potato Head, nor a purple
armadillo, nor a plastic chick with a big sword, nor Partying Smart, nor Normy
for President, and in no way, ever, a Transformer.

What’s New? A Podcast of: Technology Sucks, No WGN, iPhone Schematic Requests, and a Cowbell.

The Dude on the Right has internet issues so he told The WGN to be patient and
wait until next week to do a podcast.  But internet issues won’t keep a
good Dude down, so he recorded a quick podcast about "Batman: The Dark Knight," with Heath
Ledger, his need for some iPhone schematics, and how having a cowbell on his
iPhone just makes him smile.  Do you have a "cowbell" on your cell phone?
Good luck with that!

Technology Sucks, No WGN, iPhone Schematic Requests, and a Cowbell.

The Dude on the Right

I recorded

tonight’s podcast
a few hours ago, and my intermittent internet connection
is somehow allowing me to actually post it, tonight, being on July 17th.
I’m sad because I was worried about doing this podcast with The WGN, so I told
him to go back to his normal programming for the evening, because, with my
internet issues, I was afraid of intermittent connections screwing up our Skype
connection. So, for this podcast, I’m flying solo, mostly because I haven’t
easily set up swapping my cable TV internet connection for my DSL connection,
nor figured out (and hey, if you have the "iPhone" headphone stripe connection
for audio and voice schematic, I would really appreciate a copy) how to connect
my iPhone to my podcast mixing board.

As lame as this solo podcast probably
is, I do reiterate my upcoming love for "Batman: The Dark Knight," and tell of
my love for the music of Danny Elfman for when Jack Nicholson played The Joker
rather than Heath Ledger, although I have a feeling Mr. Ledger will do a better
job, in his own right, and I can’t wait.

The other thing about this podcast is
simply that, thanks to my iPhone, I now have a cowbell, and what better song to
put it to good use than Ram Jam’s "Black Betty."  I love my iPhone!

Thanks for listening!

What’s New? A Podcast of: Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! The BFF Meets the Family, Lots of TV Talk, and an iPhone Update.

The Dude on the Right took his BFF to visit some of his family in the old country, while Stu Gotz missed a Cubs’ game, and those are just some of the topics they both cover in
this podcast of
“Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!”

Sure, they also talk about miniature golf, give
a shout for The Dude’s mom to "Get well soon," the uber-coolness of the iPhone
update, and The Dude is psyched to see "The Dark Knight," but let’s not forget
Stu’s love of "Burn Notice," SCUBA, and the younger Gotz’s love of "Mr. Men."
Now if only The Dude would have talked about his and his BFF’s lottery winnings,
well, this podcast might be complete, but that might just have to wait for The
Dude chatting with The WGN, and explaining to said The WGN why opening car doors
for girls could be fixed by more-advanced, door-unlocker key fobs.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! The BFF Meets the Family, Lots of TV Talk, and an iPhone Update.

The Dude on the Right

In an anomaly of a weekend during the summer movie season, I explain to Stu
Gotz,

during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast
, that I didn’t see any new movies over
the weekend, although Stu and Mama Gotz did get a chance to see

"Get Smart."
My reasoning for not seeing any new movies was because of
a trip to the old country,
Lorain, OH
, with my BFF, to visit some of the members of my family.
Sadly it was a trip with my mom not feeling well (Mom, get well soon!), but I
think mom meeting my BFF did help lift mom’s spirits a bit.  I also tell
Stu of my taking some of the family to
Applebee’s,
giving my girlfriend a tour of the old country that she hasn’t seen in nearly 20
years, how we went to get some ice cream sundaes (thanks to my observant
nature), and played some miniature golf (thanks to my iPhone, which wasn’t even
updated to my having a lightsaber yet), with both the getting sundaes and
playing miniature golf not happening in Lorain :-(.  I did forget, though,
to mention to Stu about my BFF and I winning the lottery, thus necessitating a
trip back to Ohio.  If The WGN and I have a podcast on Thursday, well, I’m
sure he will want to know the portion of the winnings he might be getting!
(Don’t hold your breath The WGN!)

Stu Gotz, along with his movie viewing, did
have a lot of excitement over his weekend, some of it family related which
caused him to miss a Cubs’ game, but also some of it dealing with his love of
SCUBA.

The podcast also talks about the Mr. Men show, Stu’s love of cable TV
shows on USA, and how Deanna on "The Bachelorette" picked the snowboard dude,
Jesse, even though I keep referencing him as "the skateboard" dude.  Oh
well.

We also talk about new movies coming out this weekend, even though there is
really only one movie for everyone to see, and me to review, namely

"The Dark Knight,"
though the dudettes can go and see

"Mamma Mia!"

You know what, chicken butt, but this podcast synopsis is
already too long, just go and

listen to it
for yourself!

And because I can, because this is my website, another shout-out to my mom – “Mom, get well soon!”

Thanks for listening!

The Old Country With my BFF, Back to Normal Programming, Spock Philosophy, and an iPhone Update.

By:

The Dude on the Right

As you may have noticed there haven’t been any new posting since nearly a week
ago, and I have to admit that part of it was some laziness, part of it was being
a busybody, and part of it was caused by a quick trip to the old country, where
my BFF got to meet some of the members of my family. Yup, you can guess it, they
all like her more than they like me! Oh well. I’ll talk more about that trip
when I talk to Stu Gotz for our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast tomorrow, and
hopefully I’ll have my nephew along for this Thursday’s podcast so I can explain
to him why car doors do not need to be opened for dudettes anymore.

For some
quick notes about the trip home, though, some of it was tad melancholy as my mom
isn’t feeling too well, and I would have preferred my BFF’s first visit being
under a different light, but on the other hand, mom’s meeting my BFF seemed to
lift mom’s spirits, especially when she could give my BFF her two word, blunt,
synopsis, of the old country. The trip was also a great time for family members
to pummel me about my lack of chivalrousness, when I was just trying to do some
recon to assess the threat assessment of our group and make sure the coast was
clear on the treacherous path from the safety of the craft store to the safety
of the dude-mobile. I risk my life for the safety of the group, just like Spock
philosophied in "The Wrath of Kahn," that "The needs of the many outweigh,"
responded by Kirk "The needs of the few," with Spock coming back, "Or the one.,"
and what happens, I get chastised for it! Some people are so ungrateful, but I’m
sorry, I digress.

The trip home also had the tech nerd in me in total withdrawal because, while
I was gone, Apple came out with their giant update for the iPhone, and although
I’m waiting for a 3g version of the phone that will hold all of my music before
I buy a new one (and from the news reports of the activation meltdowns that
occurred last Friday I’m kinda glad for that), I kept looking at my iPhone, with
its old, crappy, obsolete version of firmware, knowing it would be days before I
could have a lightsaber duel with another iPhone user, be able to "scratch my
records" like a DJ, or have a better way to organize my grocery store list. As
I’m typing this blog, though, my iPhone is doing all of its updating, and
hopefully, as opposed to those poor schlubs who had problems on Friday, maybe my
utmost patience (it is a virtue, don’t ya know?) in not pulling out my laptop
while I was at the old country, on Friday, to spend the time to upgrade it the
minute I could and ignore my BFF, will pay off. See, who says chivalry is dead?

Well, my iPhone is almost done upgrading, it’s time to get back to work, so
normal programming of Entertainment Ave! is ready to be back on track tomorrow,
with a fantastic, phenomenal, enlightening, and exciting new podcast of "Stu &
The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast. I hope.

That’s it for this one!

What’s New? A Podcast of: Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! “Hancock,” Fireworks, Cars, Church, and More!

The Dude on the Right and Stu Gotz survived the 4th of July weekend with all of their appendages attached, but more surprising was the fact that The Dude didn’t get struck down by lightning as he entered a church with his BFF, especially since The Dude, at times, wondered more about what the sensors were at the top of the ceiling and why parents let their kids wear street clothes to mass, as opposed to focusing on what was really a nice homily, about an “e-mail” from God. This podcast, though, of “Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! isn’t all about fire and brimstone, or at least fireworks and religion, the boys also talk about cars, “Hancock,” “Nancy Drew,” Pringles, and some upcoming nuptials. The Dude also sends “Get Well Soon” wishes to his Mom.
