Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! “dirt,” Movie Talk, and A Sweet 16 Party vs Vegas.

By:

The Dude on the Right

What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, but Stu isn’t one to always
keep his mouth shut, so for this episode of

"Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up"
I really have to remember that family
comes first because thanks to my travels to my niece’s birthday party, I missed
a once-in-a-lifetime event.  Sure, it was my niece’s 16th birthday party,
and I suppose that is a once-in-a-lifetime event, but it was nothing like the
one Stu and The Dude on the Left witnessed in Vegas, one that I could have been
a part of, but my travel money was spent on going to Houston instead of Las
Vegas.  "Family comes first."  "Family comes first."  "Family
comes first."  "Family comes first."  I have to keep reciting that
otherwise, when I win the Mega-Millions tomorrow night, I might just hold a
grudge against my sister (hey, it is technically her fault my niece’s 16th
birthday was in January) and say something like "No money for you!"  And if
my sister somehow wins the Mega-Millions game, I really hope she remembers that
I came down to help create the worst balloon drop ever, instead of going to
Vegas.

Anyway, while Stu was out in Vegas, witnessing the unbelievable, I
caught the movies

"Black Snake Moan"
and

"Wild Hogs,"
and watched my Tivo’d episode of
"dirt"
which sadly wasn’t the episode where Jennifer Aniston kisses Courteney Cox, but
it did have a nice homage to "South Park," almost.  Those bastards.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!: Academy Award Talk, “Reno 911!: Miami,” and a Children’s Museum.

By:

The Dude on the Right

I have really got to stop planning doing anything the morning after The Academy
Awards, which they schedule at 3 hours, because there is no way in hell it ever
lasts, well, 3 hours.  As bad as it was for us in the Midwest, I’m sure the
East Coast folks dropped off way before the major awards were announced,
because, well, the Awards ended at around 11:20 PM my time, which puts them
around 12:20 AM East time.  Stu Gotz didn’t watch much of them, because he
was smart, but for this episode of "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up" I start by
giving Stu my take on the Oscars, how I was bummed

"Pan’s Labyrinth"
didn’t win its major award, and need to go back, thanks to
listening to Howard Stern,
and rent "Caligula."

I also tell Stu why he should go and see

"Reno 911!: Miami"
and Stu tells me that if you have kids, or are dating a
dudette with kids, a good place to go in Chicago is the
Chicago Children’s
Museum.
He also explains that another great place to visit is the
Shedd Aquarium
in Chicago, and was amazed at the size of the
Komodo
Dragon.
  It ain’t a small lizard.

What’s New? Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! Britney Spears, The Daytona 500, and “Ghost Rider” Talk.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Not even a crash during The Daytona 500, resulting in someone crossing the
finish line, upside down, and on fire, could keep me and Stu from getting
together today for our latest installment of "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!"
And so we got together, to chat.

Stu wanted to rant about Britney Spears,
especially after her latest haircut episode.  I understood his point, but
thinking about it now, maybe her Aunt that just past away was her only true
friend.  From the life she has led I wonder if she has those true friends,
like most of us have, who have the ability to stop us from, well, shaving our
heads and getting tattoos, unless, of course, all of use are totally shit-faced
at the same time.

Both of us saw "Ghost Rider," and neither of us thought it really sucked.
Me, I watched The Daytona
500
, where 3/4 of the race was a tad dull, and then all hell broke loose
where it was a cross between, well,
NASCAR, and

"Talladega Nights."

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up! The Bag-Lady, “Norbit,” Scuba Diving, and TV Talk.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Stu is back from his travels, so I’m not flying solo for this installment of
"Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!"

Stu’s weekend was capped by a lot of scuba
diving stuff, complete with a night out with way-competitive scuba folks
(thankfully they weren’t diving, or with knives) and meeting the
"Deep Sea
Detectives."
His travels last weekend also took him to

Disney’s Pirate and Princess Party
where he dressed up Mama Gotz in a skimpy
pirate outfit, and makes fun of the dudes who didn’t grow a pair and dressed up
as Prince Charming.  He wouldn’t elaborate on any Pirate booty he may have
gotten, but the kids were with him so there was probably nothing to brag to the
guys about.

Me, I saw a dear old friend of mine, The Bag-Lady, with her
daughter, and could still kick myself in the ass for not going to see her
daughter’s tennis match in lieu of seeing

"Norbit."
I give Stu some of my take on The Grammy Awards telecast, as
well as my initial thoughts about the new season of
"Survivor."

So much to talk about, so little time.

Thanks for listening and your comments.

Some “Snakes on a Plane” Hopes, A Good Day for Our Web Site, and Needing Help With Printing a Google Calendar in Color.

By:

The Dude on the Right

I’m trying to appease my sister and my niece who think my podcasts are too long,
so this one is a little shorter than usual.  I keep my talk to only a few
topics, with the bulk of it being about the movie "Snakes
on a Plane
" which actually opens on August 18th rather than August 23rd
which I say in the podcast.  I also want to thank all of you out in
internet-land for helping this website achieve a milestone I have been looking
for.  And finally, I’m looking for some help with Google’s calendar web
application.  My problem is pretty simple:  I want to print the
calendar in color, in the simplest of ways.  The first person to e-mail me
or comment the key on how to accomplish this, an easy way to print my Google
Calendar in color, well, I’ll send you an Entertainment Ave! golf shirt and hat.
I hope my sister and niece like the shorter format, but the next time it might
get a little longer as I try to add a musical interlude.  And a
non-standard musical interlude it will be, if I can get off my ass and actually
get it set up.

Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up: Stu’s Father’s Day, Britney Talk, Movie Talk, and Some Fun but Dirty Songs.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Stu & I do our weekend wrap-up podcast.  Stu gets right into it regarding
Britney Spears and her interview with Matt Lauer, and has his feelings about her
and her people.  I think Britney, to solve her problems, needs to just move
out of L.A.  But it was Father’s Day weekend and since I’m not a father,
and Stu is, it was a weekend for Stu.  We also talk some about "Nacho
Libre
" and a little about "The
Lake House
."  I also get to play radio DJ, introducing Stu to one of my
new favoritist bands I was introduced to thanks to the folks at
Sirius Satellite Radio
The band is "Jesus H
Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse
", and I track through some of
their songs, namely one about Connecticut, another about a sad death, one about
realizing it’s time to stop looking for a "10," and finally one about some perky
things that summer brings out.  Fine, some of the audio is over-modulated,
if that is the right term, but it was a fun weekend for all!

Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up: Guess the Celebrity, Rude Old Ladies, Going Potty Before the Omen, and Champions.

By:

The Dude on the Right

This is one action-packed episode of Stu & me doin’ our weekend wrap-up!
First I give Stu Gotz a celebrity guessing game, then look for his input on if
elderly women should be given a pass for talking during a movie, the movie in
this case was "A
Prairie Home Companion
."  I also explain why you will love or hate the
movie as well.  I made an assumption earlier this weekend, but was also
correct in assuming Stu’s response regarding asking your kid if they have to go
potty before seeing "The Omen," and both us got weepy during "Cars."
There is a cool device I found for keeping your

drink cool around your computer
, but Stu warns to watch about spillage, and
also about not using your CD-ROM drive as a cup holder.  Chicago also has
some new champions!

Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up: Stu Did Nothing, The Dude Saw “The Break-Up” and Posted 20 Movie Previews.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Yay!  Another episode of "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!"  Stu’s
weekend wrap-up was pretty simple, he did a hell of a lot of nothin’.  I,
on the other hand, went to see "The Break-Up" with staff member Whammy.
Stu wanted to know if I played the "popcorn trick" on her, to which I told him I
only bought a bottle of water.  Hmm?  I might have to remember that
for the next time we catch a movie.  I hope she isn’t listening!  I
also told Stu about getting about 20 new movie previews up for the summer, and
Stu wanted to tell me a story about Whammy, but was afraid she might listen to
this podcast, like she told me she would, so he told me he would hold off for a
couple of weeks until we know Whammy won’t be listening.

Thanks for listening.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-up: The Da Vinci Code and Sports.

By:

The Dude on the Right

We’re back with an exciting new edition of "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up."
There’s even a special guest involved, namely Mama Gotz, although she was trying
to share Stu’s mike at times which didn’t work too well.  Anyway, we both
talk a bit about "The
Da Vinci Code
" and some sport’s fighting.  Stu was also perplexed as to
why Axl Rose was getting picked on by a clothing dude.

Thanks
for listening.

Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up: Technical Issues and Movie Talk.

By:

The Dude on the Right

In our headphones, as we were recording this podcast, both Stu Gotz and I
thought it sounded like crap.  I bitched and moaned and wasted precious
minutes bitching and moaning about how bad this podcast sounded, even to the
point that I forgot to mention two very important things I learned in the
morning.  Now, listening to the replay, the podcast sounds fine, I suppose,
except for my not being able to let it go that it sounded lousy in my
headphones.  I so think I might have OCD.

In any case, Stu and I talk
about our weekend, my catching of a couple of movies, namely "Just
My Luck
" and "Keeping
Up With the Steins
," and Stu figures he’ll probably go see "Over
the Hedge
" next weekend, rather than be damned to hell by seeing "The
Da Vinci Code
."  Me, I’ll be damned to hell because I plan on seeing
"The Da Vinci Code" on Saturday, and then my hell will be sitting in a theater
full of kids on Sunday as I try to catch "Over the Hedge."  Oh, it’s so
complicated.

We also talk about the influence about a President’s speech and
Oprah, and why is the President having a speech when we already know everything
about it, and it comes up during sweep’s week in May.  I questioned whether
Oprah or the President would win out, but it seems the folks at ABC, or Oprah,
decided to move her special up a week, probably much to the chagrin of the
millions of women who will have to throw out tons of food they bought for the
"Legend’s" parties they were going to throw.  Can you get the hint I’m a
little perturbed  at the President having a speech that, at the time of my
writing this, I can already read a transcript of what he is going to say, before
I can hear him say it, and his messing up my TV season finale viewing?  I
wonder if his TIVO is all screwed up like mine seems to be right now.  I
better not miss the end of "How I Met Your Mother."

Okay, I started getting
off on a tangent.  This podcast is about Stu and my weekend wrap-up, and
some ramblings, and my obsessing how the podcast sounded horrible in our
headphones.  Anyway, Stu and I had interesting weekends.  Okay, maybe
not interesting, but we both got through our respectives.

Thanks
for listening.
