Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Democratic Convention, Dancing With the Stars, and Disney Disappoints a Gotz.
By:
The Dude on the Right
I
have to admit that new postings got derailed a bit with my trip to the old
country, but I'm not apologizing, I'm just saying. I'm also saying that
Stu Gotz and I got back together for a
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and in the last couple of weeks there has only
been a couple of things to witness in the mainstream media, namely The Olympics
and talk of the upcoming Democratic Convention. Wouldn't you know it, both
of us are happy that The Olympics (and Michael Phelps talk) are over, and now we
both wonder if Hillary Clinton can pull off total "C"-word-dom during the
convention (a word Stu heard this weekend, from an unlikely source). Me,
though, I really hope that Barack Obama stops drunk texting me at odd hours in
the morning with his "pick" for Vice President of Joe Biden, and he would
finally text me the truth - that Hillary Clinton is his running mate, if only
for the shear newsworthiness for the next five years.
Politics aside, Stu ruins my pronouncement of the latest contestants of "Dancing With the Stars" for this podcast, there's a marriage that was done, I had to pee and didn't want to cut my wiener, and one of the Little Gotz's gets some disappointment and doesn't understand how the "movie" world works thanks to the changing of the release date of Disney's "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" from his birthday weekend, to, well, October 3rd. With Little Gotz's dreams now crushed, the next thing you know he'll be asking Daddy Gotz to watch "The Bad Lieutenant. Like Father, Like Son.
Even with my trip to the old country, both of our weekends were kind of boring. Since I don't know if I'll get a podcast posted this Thursday (we'll see if I can get things together with The W.G.N.), I hope your upcoming Labor Day weekend is more exciting, especially, well, if you end up in labor. Screw the workers - birthing babies is really about labor, at least so I'm told, read, or see in the movies. Happy labor! Or just enjoy the day, and think about working, or having a baby.

The Chicago Air & Water Show, "Tropic Thunder," Mark Your Calendars, and The Olympics!
By:
The Dude on the Right
I'm
flying solo for this podcast, hoping that The W.G.N. doesn't hate me now,
but I wanted to get it done early so that I could watch Michael Phelps, tonight,
win another gold medal, thus getting him one more gold medal closer to beating
Mark Spitz. I just wonder if Michael Phelps could win those gold medals
wearing the sleek and stylish, red white & blue, bathing suit of Mr. Spitz?
Now as much as this podcast has some talk about The Olympics, about my wondering about the fakery of the Chinese, about being grossed out by a weightlifting injury that I can't find the video, only some photos, for, and my dedication to the sport of fencing but not women's beach volleyball, I also give you some dates to mark on your calendar, thanks to the return of "Entourage" and when "Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince" will be in movie theaters.
More importantly, though, for this podcast, I am stoked for seeing the Chicago Air and Water Show, which happens this weekend, and even though it sort of signals the end of summer, as an Aerospace Engineer, and someone who would have seriously considered flight school back in the day if I had 20/20 vision rather than 10/400, I just love the sights and sounds of aircraft.
And, oh yea, even though we are planning a "Stu & The Dude Reviewin' the Movies for You!" episode of "Tropic Thunder," I give you my take on the movie during this podcast (Hint: Go and see it!), how anytime I hear Flo Rida's "Low" that a different image will enter my head, and if you don't see the movie, well, you must be a reta$#, umm, never mind, I don't want to get boycotted. Oh wait, maybe I do.
Anyway, thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Nakedness, Lottery, Movies, and a Noid.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Sure, normally
the "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast with me and Stu Gotz is posted on a Monday
night, but even though we recorded this episode yesterday, a trip to the Chicago
White Sox game (where the White Sox lost - bummer) got in the way of getting it
out in the internet for all to hear, although my BFF did
get to meet Stu and Mama Gotz at The Cell for the game, and that might be a topic of
conversation for next weekend's wrap-up. For this weekend wrap-up, though, I
tell Stu about my walking around naked on Saturday, thanks to my BFF getting me
some sandals to show off my "pedicured" feet, and I also tell Stu about a story
missed from the weekend before where my BFF and I won the lottery.
As is
normal for Stu and I, we do a lot of movie talk, with me discussing
"Mamma
Mia!," and both of us talking about "The Dark Knight," the Batman sequel where
Christian Bale is great as Bruce Wayne/Batman, except for his vocal affectations
when he is Batman, and the, as everyone else also professes, fantastic
portrayal that Heath Ledger gives The Joker. Stu has some issues with the
movie, I have none, but then again, Stu also got to see "Space Chimps," because,
well, Stu's got kids.
TV talk is also present in this podcast, Stu is becoming a Mac guy, and I state my case to, well, Stu, as to why I still have a "Noid," and why no one should ever underestimate the power of The Noid, and although not part of this podcast, you also shouldn't underestimate the power of an M&M dude getting a sun-tan, nor a wind-up Mr. Potato Head, nor a purple armadillo, nor a plastic chick with a big sword, nor Partying Smart, nor Normy for President, and in no way, ever, a Transformer.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The BFF Meets the Family, Lots of TV Talk, and an iPhone Update.
By:
The Dude on the Right
In an anomaly of a weekend during the summer movie season, I explain to Stu
Gotz,
during our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, that I didn't see any new movies over
the weekend, although Stu and Mama Gotz did get a chance to see
"Get Smart." My reasoning for not seeing any new movies was because of
a trip to the old country,
Lorain, OH, with my BFF, to visit some of the members of my family.
Sadly it was a trip with my mom not feeling well (Mom, get well soon!), but I
think mom meeting my BFF did help lift mom's spirits a bit. I also tell
Stu of my taking some of the family to
Applebee's,
giving my girlfriend a tour of the old country that she hasn't seen in nearly 20
years, how we went to get some ice cream sundaes (thanks to my observant
nature), and played some miniature golf (thanks to my iPhone, which wasn't even
updated to my having a lightsaber yet), with both the getting sundaes and
playing miniature golf not happening in Lorain :-(. I did forget, though,
to mention to Stu about my BFF and I winning the lottery, thus necessitating a
trip back to Ohio. If The WGN and I have a podcast on Thursday, well, I'm
sure he will want to know the portion of the winnings he might be getting!
(Don't hold your breath The WGN!)
Stu Gotz, along with his movie viewing, did have a lot of excitement over his weekend, some of it family related which caused him to miss a Cubs' game, but also some of it dealing with his love of SCUBA.
The podcast also talks about the Mr. Men show, Stu's love of cable TV shows on USA, and how Deanna on "The Bachelorette" picked the snowboard dude, Jesse, even though I keep referencing him as "the skateboard" dude. Oh well.
We also talk about new movies coming out this weekend, even though there is really only one movie for everyone to see, and me to review, namely "The Dark Knight," though the dudettes can go and see "Mamma Mia!"
You know what, chicken butt, but this podcast synopsis is already too long, just go and listen to it for yourself!
And because I can, because this is my website, another shout-out to my mom - "Mom, get well soon!"

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! RV-ing, Penn & Teller, Movie Talk, Toilet Paper, and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz's delay in getting back to the Chi-Town area after an RV-ing adventure
(complete with a trip to
Herkimer N.Y.) led
to our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast being a day late, but even with an extra day of
preparation, I somehow manage to screw-up our opening. Oh well! We
don't do a lot of movie talking, just a quick thought about
"Wanted" from me, some quick thoughts about
"Wall-E" from both of us, but the movie clip that actually had all of us
laughing, from Stu and Mama Gotz to the Little Gotz's, and from myself to my BFF,
was the animated short, "Presto," that preceded "Wall-E," about a cute little
rabbit, just wanting to get fed, and a magical hat.
Stu did manage to catch up on some of his Netflix viewing, loving "Letters from Iwo Jima," while I regale Stu with my loving the new season of "Penn & Teller: Bullshit," especially their take on "New Age Medicine," the magic of a kazoo, and I can't believe I forgot to tell Stu about the toilet plunger therapy and how Penn & Teller seem to know their audience is a bunch of men because suddenly their booby quotient is a lot higher than in past episodes. I do advise Stu that now might be the time to get Sirius Satellite Radio, and no, not because of the merger with XM, an approval decision that has so far lasted longer than it takes for a baby to be conceived, born, and eating solid food, but because for a couple of weeks they are going to have "ABBA Radio," all ABBA, 24/7, in celebration of the upcoming "Mamma Mia!" movie. We also have some tattoo and piercing talk, and as I tell Stu to go and look for the video, there was a fight during the one of the latest Chicago White Sox/Chicago Cubs Crosstown Classic games, and nope, it's not about rival fans beating each other up, but rather about joining together in the love.
And, go figure, Stu has toilet paper issues.

A Special Guest Podcaster, The WGN, Joins for TV, Comedian, Gun, and Socially Inept Talk!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Gosh, it is so much easier to do a podcast when you've got someone to talk to,
so, via the magic of Skype, I am thrilled to have the WGN (World's Greatest
Nephew) back to join me for
this Thursday's podcast, and with his new headset and him plugged into his
Mac, things are sounding a hell of a lot better than the last time we tried
this. For this podcast I introduce my nephew to the magic of "America's
Got Talent," and am happy to hear that the boy, who actually isn't a boy
anymore, loves George Carlin, even having some of Mr. Carlin's material on his
iPod. My nephew is pretty cool, isn't he, and he reads, too!
We talk some Texas, how my Nephew has a job at a law firm, has shot a gun even though I haven't (which is topical with the Supreme Court ruling today), and how I probably can't help with his GF's accounting class. I do my best to explain the differences between our family gatherings and my BFF's family gatherings to him, and even though my nephew was -4 when Night Ranger's "Sister Christian" came out, he knew of the band, and he also regales his story of seeing Radiohead, which I hope to see at Lollapalooza, maybe even with my nephew as the guest reviewer!
And lastly my nephew might have ruined me by suggesting a game, "Dolphin Olympics 2." You will know that has happened if I don't have any new posting for a couple of weeks.
I hope you have fun seeing "Wall-E" this weekend (especially if you have kids), or catch "Wanted," or just have fun.

A "The Swell Season" Preview, Meeting Family, The Bachelorette, and Missing "Nessun Dorma" on "America's Got Talent."
By:
The Dude on the Right
My nephew might be a guest podcaster guest next week, but today I'm
flying solo for this podcast where I talk about seeing an Oscar winning
group called "The Swell Season," with
the likes of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova,
the duo from the movie
"Once," as I try to get back into the concert reviewing
scene. And what a great concert it was, and as the folks are leaving the show,
what better song than "Love Me Sexy" by Jackie Moon to lead people into the
night.
The full review for that concert will be coming soon, but this podcast also lets me trepidate about seeing most of the balance of the family of my BFF (I hope the first half of the family will have my back!), I think I have some ideas about how to have my BFF visit the old country to visit my family, and I'm probably one of the few people left watching "The Bachelorette," but I'm so wishing one of the dudes would just star crying instead of the dudette.
I also can't figure out how I missed "America's Got Talent," especially, since, during the premier for the summer, they had a dude do a fantastic job of "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's "Turandot." Yes, I admit it, I like some Opera, though I've never actually seen one.
Your new movie choices for this weekend are "The Love Guru" and "Get Smart," but, if either of those movies give you pause, and you want a big blast of action-enjoyment, at least at the movies, and if you haven't seen it yet, go and see "Iron Man" while you can, on the big screen, while you are just waiting for "Hancock" to come out over the 4th of July weekend.

The World's Greatest Nephew Needs a Nickname, Some Politics, Some Eddie Murphy, and Some Toilet Talk!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Maybe not as audio-ly smooth as when Stu Gotz and I did our podcast last Monday,
but tonight I had a guest podcaster, through the magic that is the internet, and
I might have to send him a few bucks to get a better headset thingy. Yup,
it was the
World's Greatest Nephew joining me for a podcast, and even though calling
him WGN is cool, I am a little worried about Sam Zell trying to sue me.
I'd call him his old nickname, Squirt, but that doesn't seem to apply anymore,
what with him being all grown-up and all!
Right out of the box I hit him with some audio of Father Michael Pfleger doing his worst Hillary Clinton impression, but then we nicely settle into college talk, summertime talk, movie talk (he does have taste, liking "Iron Man" nearly as much as I did), and even he seems confused as to why Eddie Murphy might be coming back to reprise his role as Axel Foley in a new "Beverly Hills Cop" movie.
I did forget to ask him his opinion on 16 year olds having a coed slumber party after prom, but we did get in some nice toilet talk, and both congratulate Clay Aiken if he indeed will be a daddy.
It was great to talk to him, and the best part is that the conversation was free. Sure, there are some audio issues to fix, but I'm blaming it on his being cooler than me by owning a MacBook "something or other" (which we couldn't get to work together), thus his having to borrow a different laptop, to be stuck with me, in Windows' land.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Skype Works, Stu's Sick, A Cougar Movie, and an Indy Movie.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu and I couldn't meet up together for our
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but through the magic of Skype it's almost like
he was sitting next to me, if sitting next to me means an ever so slight delay
in our conversation and occasionally losing his voice for a second or two.
Actually, our internet experiment worked, complete with sound effects, so I know
that guest podcasters is an option for the future. But this a podcast
about our respective weekends, so here's the basic rundown of what we chat
about...
Stu's sick (so it's also a good thing we didn't meet up) and hanging with the little Gotz's as Mama Gotz is working. He had plans for some backyard camping, but being under the weather it turned into a Netflix weekend for him with his seeing two movies at the opposite end of the spectrum, namely "Wild Hogs" (good for the family), and "Cougar Club," (not for the family, or anyone for that matter) with a list of recognizable actors and actresses, including Faye Dunaway. And even though he wrote a review of his new "Wii Fit," I'm guessing he didn't use it much this weekend, his being sick and all.
As for me, I regale Stu with tales of seeing "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and fireworks, having a nice dinner, needing to buy a new filter for my fish tank, and why I had "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" in my Netflix queue.

The Best Singer on the "American Idol" Finale Didn't Win, and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
By:
The Dude on the Right
So, yes, I wasted two hours and five minutes of my life watching an over-bloated
finale of "American Idol," and even though I recapped it yesterday
in my blog,
for this podcast I've got some audio! Yup, product placement was all
over the place, the Idol people had two hours to tell us who was this year's
"American Idol," but if Ryan Seacrest had held the suspense about 30 more
seconds, well, millions of TiVo viewers would have been (or at least me),
cursing hell and high-water because the TiVo broadcast would have ended with
"This year's 'American Idol' is David.... bing '(Would you like to
delete this recording?)'". At least, thank God, they gave us the return of
Renaldo Lapuz, singing "We're Brothers Forever," or "I Am Your Brother," or I
don't care, because he was great, especially with the USC Marching Band, and I
can't help but sing along! David Archuleta fans, I am so sorry, but David
Cook fans, well, one last "Hooray!!!!"
It is, though, the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, I almost came close to cancelling my cable TV service, and hopefully the only TV show I'll get sucked into this summer will be "The Bachelorette!"

Shania Twain is Unattached, Starbucks Almost has Nudity, David Will Win American Idol, and a Tease for Monday.
By:
The Dude on the Right
So I sometimes steal story ideas from other radio people, and while I usually
try to give some credit where I heard something,
for the start of my podcast, well, this story is all mine. You see, I
suppose that if I am going to woo Shania Twain now that it has been announced
she is splitting from her hubby, Mutt Lange, I might have to actually get a
passport, what with her being from Canada and now living in Switzerland, and
all. But as much as that process of getting a passport is in the works, I
heard on "The Roe Conn Show"
here in Chicago, and no, Christina Filiaggi still isn't back on the air there as
of my typing this, that Starbucks is a detriment to society now that it is
bringing the naked mermaid back to its cups of coffee as a logo. I'm just
pissed that I didn't think of trying to organize a boycott, therefore getting
the publicity that some resistance group is getting.
I am still sad that Amanda didn't win "Survivor: Fans v. Favorites," I do know that David will win "American Idol," and yea, I know that's a bad joke that I stole that from a whole ton of places, and the Spring TV season is coming to a close. Boo hoo. But I also tease some earlier audio I first heard on "The Howard Stern Show," leading to more audio for Stu Gotz and me when we hopefully meet on Monday!
And this podcast also has a couple of shout-out "Happy Birthday" wishes!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! "Speed Racer," The Dude Leaves his Bunker, and Baseball Nuts.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz and I finally got back together for an actual
"Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, and with our being separated for so long we end
up with a lot to talk about, and actually it's only about this past weekend!
Stu gives his synopsis of "Speed Racer," actually saying that even though it is rated PG, well, it's probably not that great a kid movie, and since I didn't see a movie on Saturday I had to inform Stu as to what my diversion was, namely I left my computer bunker and had a great time visiting a classmate from years gone by. Stu, of course, goes "blue" about my nice day, and then goes more "blue" talking about his trip to see the Chicago Cubs with the little Gotz's (thankfully he, nor Mama Gotz, didn't let loose in front of their kids).
I also give Stu my analysis that Amanda Kimmel should have been the winner on "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites," but instead Pavarotti, I mean, Parvati Shallow, actually won the million bucks, Stu saw some British film I didn't care about, movie season is coming into full bloom, and in the middle of this podcast there is so much more!

So, Like, It's Like Idol, Survivor, TV, and Like, So, Girls Just Want to Have Fun!
By:
The Dude on the Right
The spring TV season is starting to come to a close, but not, like, so, I talk
about, like,
during this podcast, like, this dudette who, so, well, like, she likes to
talk with, like, the word like "like, and so, well, so, she also likes to like
talk with the word "so." But back to that TV season.
"Survivor: Fans v. Favs" is quickly coming to a close, with the finale being this Sunday, on Mother's Day (hope you already sent your card), and "American Idol," like, well, thank God, Jason Castro is gone because, like, I didn't like him that much. I so don't like David Cook that much either, but I am so in the Syesha camp.
I also did get a chance to see the DVD of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," (with a full DVD review coming soon) where if you want to see what Sarah Jessica Parker looked like when she was 19ish, what Helen Hunt looked like when she was 21ish, and what Shannen Doherty looked like when she was 14ish, this is the rental for you. Also, if you are a mom from who was a teen in the 80's, and you want to torment your daughter, rent this DVD.

Happy Birthday to Me!, Vote for Syesha, Jason was Dumber, and Here Comes "Iron Man!"
By:
The Dude on the Right
As I quickly approach year 41 in my life, yet still act like I'm about 22, I
sing myself
"Happy Birthday" during this podcast because right now I have no birthday
plans. But that's okay, because now that I'm going to be out of my 40's,
well, happy days are here again! In anticipation of my birthday, though,
and having to renew my driver's license, I got a haircut by one of the most
entertaining of people today, she who blamed her "sounding like she was stoned"
on a hoarse throat from a previous cold, as opposed to sounding, well, like she
was stoned because, well, she was a stoner dudette.
But stoner haircutting dudette aside, I try my best not to make fun of Paula Abdul's blunders during the recent "American Idol" and now throw all of my support to Syesha because do we really want to see a final three of all dudes? And if "American Idol" wasn't goofy enough, how about maybe the dumbest contestant in "Survivor" history, that being Jason who, after witnessing Ozzie be too cocky to play the immunity idol and getting blindsided, the dude actually trusted the dudettes not to vote him out, so alas, he didn't play the immunity idol he found and got blindsided. I would like to think I wouldn't be that stupid if I were on "Survivor," but I'm more confused as to what family member or friend I would beckon to visit me on some remote island, this being "family reunion" week for "Survivor."
None of that matters, though, because the coming of my birthday generally signifies fantastic movies, and for the past many years it has meant a "Spider-Man" flick. This year has "Iron Man" opening up, which I almost think I am looking more forward too than the Spidey flicks. Dudettes, you are lucky, though, because if you don't want to see a superhero you can at least go see Dr. McDreamy in "Made of Honor." In maybe ruining my birthday weekend, I'll probably see that movie as well.
That's it for this one! I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!

Lee Elia Rants, Carly Smithson is Booted, and RIP Kenneth Keith Kallenbach.
By:
The Dude on the Right
In Chicago Cubs' lore there are many things that tickle the fancy of Cubs'
historians, but as the 25th anniversary of Lee Elia going ballistic approaches,
I give a salute
during this podcast to the fact that 15% of those without jobs pissed off
Lee just enough so that he gave us some of the sweetest audio ever. A word
of warning, though, because my salute is uncensored, with no bleeping, with all
of the f-bombs in full glory. And as much as Lee was a master of words, it
seems Carly Smithson wasn't the master of music because she got booted from
"American Idol," and I have to say I'm not that sorry to see her go. What
is exciting me, though, is that next week we get to see five people butcher Neil
Diamond songs, while I'm just hoping that he actually tries to teach some of
these people to be performers.
TV is back in full bloom and "Lost" returns, again, Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay this weekend, and I actually have a Kenneth Keith Kallenbach story, he a wack-pack member of The Howard Stern Show. R.I.P. Dude who could blow smoke out of your eyes.

Movie Talk, Artie Lange Talk, End of the World Talk, "Survivor" Talk, and more Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
It's mostly my fault that Stu isn't here for
our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but as it turns out I've got a lot to talk
about. I discuss male nudity thanks to the movie
"Forgetting Sarah Marshall," I discuss the convergence of two Martial Arts
stars thanks to
"The Forbidden Kingdom," and I am happy that Artie Lange is back on
The Howard Stern Show
after his fake tirade, set up just to give all of us fans a cliffhanger before
the Stern Show went on vacation for a week. I'm just kidding. I
don't care what anyone says because I think the fight with Teddy Microphone was
real, that it was a damn good thing Artie didn't actually hit Teddy, and why am
I telling you all of this when you should be listening to the podcast?
I also think the end of the world might be near, what with an earthquake here in the Midwest and the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox now in first place (Come on Cleveland Indians, get your act together!), and thought Ozzie getting booted from "Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites" might have been the best tribal council ever last week.
See, I told you I have a lot to talk about.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Golf, Movies, Religion and More!
By:
The Dude on the Right
Here comes the Pope, here comes the Pope! Actually here comes
another podcast of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!," but I thought I
would welcome Pope Benedict to these United States, and for whatever reason, Stu
Gotz found it necessary to bring up religion for this podcast. He also
brings up the fact that Grandma Gotz and Mama Gotz, and for that fact himself,
are sometimes on different wavelengths in raising the little Gotz's, and it
oddly enough relates to
"Scooby
Doo" and
"SpongeBob SquarePants" (Did you know he lives in a pineapple under the sea,
and Stu, I hate to toss you to the wolves, or at least Mama Gotz, but did you
realize the absorbent and yellow and porous one is rated TV-Y7?) which all came
to a head this Sunday with the little Gotz's singing a song and being afraid of
monsters.
Not having kids I didn't have the difficulties Stu encountered over the weekend, mostly because I was watching Tiger Woods not be able to sink a put to save his life and lose The Masters, am still backed up on my watching "Battlestar Galactica" because my TiVo decided it wanted to watch Skinemax instead, but we both talk about a lot of movies, namely "Prom Night," "Smart People" (which, the more I think about it, I over-rated it for my written review), "Enchanted," and "The Kingdom." We also talk a bit about TV, and my recommendation for watching the finale of "The Biggest Loser: Couples,"
At least we don't talk about politics.

Artie Lange, Tiger Woods, and Paula Abdul. How About That Mix?
By:
The Dude on the Right
Just in time for a vacation hiatus for The Howard Stern Show, Artie Lange has a
meltdown, resigns, quits, and may or may not be going to Amsterdam, because of
many reasons people are surmising/assuming (even myself) especially since there
are no real updates, anywhere, and not ever here,
during this podcast, though I do talk about it. There will probably
never be another day when "Artie Lange" and the "Stern Fan Network" share the #1
and #2 position on Google Trends, especially when Tiger Woods and The Masters
would normally be the Google interest of the day.
So even though I wonder, during the podcast, if Artie will come back to the show, wonder if Tiger Woods can win The Masters and the Grand Slam of golf, I also report that during my extensive studying of my TiVo'd episode of "American Idol" from Tuesday, there does not appear to be a nip-slip by Kristy Lee Cook. And trust me, I studied that area as extensively as I could once I heard the rumor. We've also got this week's inclusion of "Paula Abdul Clips of the Week," where if anyone was close to a nip-slip during Tuesday's "Idol," it was Paula, but no, that didn't happen either, as I studied her as well.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Prairie Fires, Movies, Dieting, and Poop.
By:
The Dude on the Right
With the weather breaking Stu Gotz and I did what we do best when the weather is
nice - see a lot of movies. So,
for this podcast Stu gives his take on "Run, Fatboy, Run" and his Netflixed
movie
"License to Wed." Meanwhile, I tell Stu what is wrong with
"Leatherheads," and the fact that I liked
"Nim's Island."
I did get out to enjoy nature, or at least a prairie fire, and while I was grilling a great steak, Stu tells me that Mama Gotz was on a diet that actually caused her waistline to grow. Either that, or she should have pooped first before measuring that waistline.
And, oh yea, we talk some "South Park" where Stu can't understand the making fun of Canada.

An NKOTB Warning, Adam's Still Dancing, and Paula Abdul Clips of the Week!
By:
The Dude on the Right
A Thursday podcast, and I'm flying solo. Boo hoo. I do wish I
had someone to talk to but just don't know if I'm ready yet for a stranger to be
a part of a podcast via Skype, Google, or Yahoo Talk, nor if it will even work.
If you might want to be a part of the experiment, e-mail me at
podcast@entertainmentavenue.com.
That, though is not what this podcast is about, nope this podcast begins with a
warning, namely about a five letter acronym, and those five letters are simply "NKOTB."
Hope you're hangin' tough.
But as TV is usually my thing for a Thursday chat, this podcast relates my happiness that March Madness is done (it has to be, doesn't it, because it's, well, April?) and "Survivor: Fans v. Favs" is back! I also lament that I haven't, as of yet, gotten back into the swing of "The Bachelor: London Calling" and the totally stable women who are on the show, but agree with Adam Carolla on "Dancing With the Stars" that Julianne Hough is wearing too many clothes.
Lastly, I give you some hints at movies opening this weekend, but more importantly it's the triumphant return to the podcast of "Paula Abdul Clips of the Week!"

Welcome "Tripping the Rift" Fans, Poor Chikezie, and "The Biggest Loser" Talk.
By:
The Dude on the Right
This podcast is a little shorter, which is surprising because I usually have
so much to say, but it kicks off welcoming fans of "Tripping the Rift" thanks to
our recent DVD review of
"Tripping the Rift: The Movie," and its web site,
www.sixsells.com.
That or people keep trying to type in sexsells.com but can't spell. I'm
also getting frustrated with "The Biggest Loser" because the show doesn't need
to be two hours long anymore, and in keeping things brief, and not getting into
politics, I do some "American Idol" talk, being bummed that Chikezie got booted
last night.
See, short and sweet and thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! The Dude's a Handyman and Stu's Bad Days.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Easter weekend has come and gone, but
Stu Gotz and I are still here and podcasting. Aren't you excited?
Well you should be because during this podcast I relate how during the weekend I
found I can still shovel snow and am still a handyman (much to the surprise of
my sister), while Stu, and I, I suppose, forgot that stores are closed on Easter
Sunday, much to the dismay of the little Gotz's.
In the meantime I relate to Stu my inability to pick the NCAA March Madness Final Four, why quitting the TV show "Survivor" is lame, while we both discuss "South Park" blowing off the top half of Britney Spears' head and no one going to see "Drillbit Taylor" yet still seeing "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who." Stu, meanwhile, has been having a bad day because he had to poop, learning a valuable lesson. Listen to make sure you learn the lesson, too.

Ashley Alexandra Dupre (a.k.a. Kristen), Idol Talk, Nice Weather, and a Toilet.
By:
The Dude on the Right
I
thought I would change the way
I open the podcast so I hope you like it. Maybe at a time down the
road I'll let you know what inspired it (Here's a hint: A cute dudette giving
witty banter about stocks), but part of it also goes along with my, well, I
don't know, all I know is that with the weather getting nice I was able to get
out for a walk, though it wasn't warm enough for me to don my Speedo. I
also talk a little about Ashley Alexandra Dupre, a.k.a. Kristen, but I don't play
any of her music because it appears her MySpace page was taken down, and I'm not
going to pay for it. Get it? "Pay for it." If you don't, well, you've probably been living under a rock for the last couple of days. My little podcast
also talks a bit about "American Idol" with David Hernandez getting the boot,
and wraps up with a story about a woman who, I hope but I doubt, had the
greatest bathroom, or at least the most comfortable toilet, ever (Sis, I don't
care if you hate it).
Otherwise
there is absolutely no reason for your skin to grow around a toilet seat.
And in the spirit of Easter, even the Easter Bunny has to go to the bathroom
sometimes.

Abducted by Space Aliens, Bye Brett, Voice Mail, Strippers, and Thank a Pig.
By:
The Dude on the Right
Last night, or I suppose I should say sometime this morning, I fear I was
abducted by space aliens, and I explain why during
this Thursday episode of our podcast. All I will write, for your reading
pleasure, is that as freaked out as I am of my possibly being screened and scanned by dudes with big heads and giant eyes, at least I
didn't get an anal probe. On a lighter note, though, I also talk about
Brett Favre and his retirement.
But this podcast isn't just about aliens and Packers, nope, I also do my best to explain the proper etiquette for voice mail, hope some of the dudette "American Idol" singers might have been strippers, and let you know that if you need an anticoagulant named Heparin, well, thank a pig, a scientist who thought of a pig, and pray it's not a batch from some Chinese pigs.
And, oh yea, remember to spring your clocks forward this weekend, even though it isn't spring yet.

RIP Jeff Healey, GWS Eddie Van Halen, Oops Jimmy Buffett, and Oprah.
By:
The Dude on the Right
A
lot of this podcast is about music, the rest is about Oprah and her Big
Give, and since Stu Gotz and I couldn't get together, well, I'm flying solo.
First off, I was saddened to learn of the passing of a fantastic guitarist, Jeff Healey, and if you don't know who he is his most noteworthy song was called "Angel Eyes," and if you think it looks weird in the picture of how he plays guitar, well, he was blind, this is the way he learned, and like I said, he was fantastic. Happily I got to see him and his band back in 1995, at The Skyline Stage in Chicago. Jeff Healey, R.I.P.
Another guitarist I talk about is Eddie Van Halen, and with the tons of rumors flying around today, the official Van Halen website doesn't give too many answers, only that the Spring tour isn't cancelled, only that some dates are being rescheduled.
And in other music news I talk about how I might not be seeing Jimmy Buffett this summer because I'm an idiot.
Finally, because as much as I poke fun, you still have to give credit to Oprah because she is one smooth businesswoman and now had the highest rated show last Sunday with "Oprah's Big Give." I hate her. I love her. I envy her. My Oprah feelings are so conflicted.

Lying is a Crime, Paula Abdul Needs to be Watched, and Dumb Robbers in Australia
By:
The Dude on the Right
Our federal government has nothing better to do like looking for terrorists,
trying to find Osama Bin Laden, figure out how to get out of debt, make a
decision on the Sirius / XM Satellite Radio merger, or take a hard look at the
immigration issue, nope, what's most important is who lied - Roger Clemens or
Brian McNamee? Yup, baseball seems to be the most important thing for our
government to work on, and I talk about it during
this podcast episode.
I also give a little bit of insight into this season of "Survivor: Micronesia," and I am worried about David Archuleta on "American Idol" (who should win this competition hands down) because Paula Abdul seems to want to decapitate him and hang his head from her rear-view mirror. And sometimes there is nothing better than a story about stupid robbers in Australia, complete with bad sound drops via me.
Thanks for listening! And Mom, get well soon!
