Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up! Kids are Turning Japanese, Journey Scores a Top 5 Single on Sirius, Wii Workouts, and Movie Talk.

By: The Dude on the Right
This week's weather is looking hot, but the weekend was cool, just like Stu Gotz and I, so cool in fact we are back with all of the cool stuff we did this weekend in this episode of "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up" podcast.  I hip Stu to the resurgence of Journey, namely with "Don't Stop Believing" finding itself at #5 on the Sirius Hits 1 Weekend Countdown. Stu also has what will hopefully be our last "Soprano" story ever. Stu was wondering about his fathering abilities as one of the CD's his kids love to listen to is a compilation of songs, with one of their favorites being "The Monster Mash." The thing is that the CD also contains "Turning Japanese" by The Vapors, and "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas, and as little boys will be little boys, well, Stu wonders about the political incorrectness of his boys when they sing.  I think Stu might at well just get it over with and teach his kids the f-bomb and s-bomb, but then again I don't have kids.

With the weekend also comes movies, and I give Stu my rundown of "Evan Almighty," and "1408," and being a little sad that "Live Free or Die Hard" which opens Wednesday will be rated PG-13.

Stu also has been getting some exercise lately playing his Nintendo Wii, although sadly he keeps losing at boxing to his 4 1/2 year old son.  Little Stu obviously doesn't care about Big Stu's rope-a-dope or fancy footwork.  I'm guessing Little Stu is just using the punch-a-dope boxing style, which for the Wii means, well, you'll just have to listen.

Three Vetoes From President Bush, I Should be The Next Host of "The Price is Right," and Maybe Meredith is Nicer than Barbara.

By: The Dude on the Right
Sorry to get a little political, but let’s say you’re President of the United States for a bunch of years now, and one of the strongest powers you have is the power of the veto. I remember the power of the veto from my younger days, watching “Schoolhouse Rock,” and hoping Bill will become a law. President Bush, it seems, wields his power by fighting our “War on Terror,” destroying human life in the hopes of saving human life. He then vetoes, for the second time, a bill regarding embryonic stem cell research stating, well, “Destroying human life in the hopes of saving human life is not ethical.”

During this podcast I don’t talk that much about President Bush and his vetoes, but rather devote most of it as to why I think I should be the next host of “The Price is Right.” Hell, I’ll even take the bag off of my head. Also, you’ll be pleased to remember Paris Hilton will be getting out of jail soon, and I’ll bet most of you would have done similar time with the same payday she is supposedly going to get. Looks like Barbara Walters isn’t her friend anymore, or the Meredith Vieira people opened up their pocketbooks a little more.

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up: Stu's Early "Ratatouille" Review, More Movie Talk, and a Skin Flute.

By: The Dude on the Right
A weekend full of movies brings Stu Gotz and me together for our weekend wrap-up podcast. Stu Gotz gives his early opinion on the latest Disney/Pixar flick, "Ratatouille," that had a sneak-peak screening over the weekend. He also saw "Ocean's Thirteen," and he liked it. Me, I tell Stu what I thought about "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and that yes, he will probably like "Nancy Drew." We also do some reminiscing of movies in college, and discuss sneaking beer into a movie theater in anticipation of the "Transformers" movie opening soon.  There's all that, Stu and I realizing we need to get back on the diet and exercise wagon, and the podcast starts out with some skin flute talk as heard on a TV station from Cleveland, O Hi O.

Thanks for listening!

Jessica Alba - I Volunteer, Cicada Sounds, Go Cavs, and Go Away McGreevey's.

By: The Dude on the Right
Jessica Alba has announced that she is looking for one night stands, and I'm more than happy to announce my services, which might not even make it to a one evening stand.  In any case I will give her my guarantee I won't be there to snuggle in the morning.  Also in this podcast, here in Chicagoland, it is time for the return of the 17 year cicada, and happily they are nowhere near my neighborhood, but the sound I found on the internet (thanks to radio dude Steve Dahl and The Chicago Tribune) can give you a listen as to what you might be missing.  The site with the sound also has ambient sound from around the world, but so far I haven't heard any juicy conversations, just birds and badly miked house music from Oslo, Norway.  Back in my college days I could have been the King of Ambient Sound by hanging a microphone outside my fraternity bedroom window, especially on weekend nights, but that's a story for another day.

I'm hoping my hometown Cleveland Cavaliers can at least win one game in the NBA finals, but I don't even think the Michael Stanley Band song can help.  Who knows, maybe the Cavs can be the first team in history to come behind from a 0 and 3 deficit to win the championship, but that is almost as likely as New Jersey's gay ex-Governor McGreevey liking his wife's book.

Thanks for listening!

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Soprano Analysis, Stu Gets Exercise, The Dude's Cable Woes, and Big & Rich do AC/DC.

By: The Dude on the Right
Nothing like the most talked about "Sopranos" episode ever to bring Stu Gotz and I together to talk about our weekend during this podcast.  Of course we do our analysis of the series finale of "The Sopranos," because, well, who hasn't, and it's complete with the changing of our opening theme music.  Stu, also, was quite the athlete this weekend, doing some bowling, tennis, golf, baseball, and boxing all in the span of a couple of days.  You know what that means?  Yup, he bought a Nintendo Wii, but it's the way he bought it that is the story.  At least he hasn't thrown the remote, yet, like my sister did.

We also discuss my seeing "Ocean's Thirteen," Mama Gotz's not really seeing "Surf's Up," my life without TV for a couple of days, and I introduce Stu to a new version of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long," covered by Big & Rich.  Stu can't wait to buy it, but me, not so much.

Thanks for listening!

The MTV Movie Awards, The NBA Finals, and Maybe Paris Hilton Broke her Teeth.

By: The Dude on the Right
In entertainment news this has been a busy week, and I try to touch on some of that during this podcast.

Maybe you realized it, but probably not, MTV had its annual Movie Awards, which I think I even got screwed up calling them the MTV Video Awards during the podcast, either showing that I am really starting to get old, or maybe I just don't find MTV as relevant as I used to find them.  I did enjoy Sarah Silverman hosting the award show, but with Dane Cook filling in, I still find I'm not a Dane Cook fan yet.  In the hour I saw so far I did enjoy Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen accepting their award for Best Kiss, but then had to switch to the second to last episode of "The Sopranos," so hopefully I'll fire up my TiVo this weekend and see if there is any more funny audio to share with you folks.

I'm also excited about the Cleveland Cavaliers getting to the NBA finals, although I doubt most of you care.

But last, a podcast today could not be without talk of Paris Hilton being let out of jail after only three-ish days.  I have my theory as to what her "medical condition" might be, but maybe, going back to the MTV Movie Awards, Sarah Silverman was actually showing her clairvoyant side because maybe Paris actually broke her teeth.  If Sarah's lover Jimmy Kimmel didn't pick up on her clairvoyance on his show tonight, well, I'll be very disappointed in him and just have to say "Sarah, you looked adorable on the MTV Award show, and I can't believe Jimmy didn't see you for the psychic you are.  Feel free to dump him and jump into the arms of a man who sees the true talent you have - the talent to see the future."

Thanks for listening, and fine, go ahead and comment to me about how stupid I am for calling the "MTV Movie Awards" the "MTV Video Music Awards."  Do most of us really care anymore?

Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!: Importing Cicadas, "Knocked Up," Baseball, and Chicken Legs.

By: The Dude on the Right
Stu Gotz’s kids got in the way of his seeing "Knocked Up" and "The Sopranos," but at least his family may be involved in the migration of the 17-Year cicadas to his neighborhood. He won’t know if their science experiment worked until, well, 17 years from now, but the family antics did lead to some fun discussions for this week’s "Stu & The Dude’s Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast.

So what do we talk about? Well, along with transplanting cicadas (and Mama Gotz’s belief in siamese cicadas), Stu finally got to see "Spider-Man 3," and also questions some parenting skills involved with eating chicken legs. I do my best not to ruin the latest episode of "The Sopranos" for him, nor ruin "Knocked Up" as well (although I do mention about Chicago radio dude Jonathon Brandmeier seeing the movie where someone vomited during one scene). I also give my theory on why Chicago Cubs’ manager, Lou Piniella, is getting suspended for "bumping" into the umpire, and it’s mostly about Lou’s belly. The iPhone is also coming, June 29th, and our buddy Wimp gave us some simple advice, namely "Don’t drop it."

We could talk for hours, but still limit it to around 20 minutes, so thanks for listening, your comments, and just being cool for visiting our website.
