A Review by
The Dude on the Right
I’m not going to spend too much time on this review because "White Chicks" is one of those movies best meant for cable, but I will say a few words after the synopsis.

Shawn and Marlon Wayans play Kevin and Marcus Copeland. They’re FBI screw-ups, blow a case, and for a last chance they are assigned to protect the Wilson sisters, two socialites on their way to the Hamptons, involved in a kidnapping plot. Well, they screw that up when they crash the car, and the sisters don’t want to go because they have a couple of boo-boo’s. But Kevin and Marcus cook up this plan, they can disguise themselves as the girls, with some plastic masks and boobs, and they head to the Hamptons to solve the kidnapping plot. Somehow two black men, in hideous masks and much taller than the original sisters, are able to convince everyone in the Hamptons that they are the Wilson sisters, and hilarity is supposed to ensue. Along the way they get in touch with their feminine side, are able to help the other socialites girls to understand men and stick up for themselves, and of course save the day.

That’s enough of a summary.

The concept is funny, and there are a lot of funny scenes (especially if you come from the land of the easily amused like I do) if you can just past the fact that there is no way in hell these two dudes would really be pulling off being the Wilson sisters, even I didn’t buy that. Sure, maybe the Wayans are trying to say that all of the rich socialites are complete morons, but for me it just didn’t work.

Now this isn’t the easiest thing to explain, but I’ll try – What I thought would have made this movie really work is if well, to start, our FBI agents were a little thinner and shorter. Now, instead of them in bad make-up, take the original girls who were playing the Wilson sisters and have them in the Hamptons acting like the FBI agents would be acting if they were playing them. You’ve got the girls being actually believable in looks, but acting like two black men trying to act like two rich socialites. The best comparison I can make to this is Chris Rock in his role in the movie "Down to Earth." The funniest scenes in that movie are where we see the old white dude, whose body Chris Rock’s character inhabits, act like a young black dude.

I guess maybe none of this review really makes any sense so I guess I’ll just wrap things up giving "White Chicks" 1 ½ stars out of 5. It had so much potential, but just lost it on the bad transformations.

That’s it for this one! I’m The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
