Sure, so far the box office hasn't been kind to movies
relating to Iraq lately, and even though I'm looking forward
to seeing this one, I'm thinking "Stop-Loss" will fade into
obscurity like the rest of the Iraq movies so far. Too bad,
though, because the movie deals with an issue I don't think
many people realize is happening, that being the stop-loss
issue, sometimes called the back-ended draft, where men and
women who have served their original tour of duty are being
told they can't leave the military yet because they are
still needed.
The reason there might be more people seeing this movie
is simply because the girl population might hit the theater
to see a buff Ryan Phillippe, but the movie is also rated R
so they might have to do some sneakin' into the movies to
see it, where
their eyes might actually be opened to something the US
government is doing.
