A Preview by
The Dude on the Right
As the summer movie season winds down, we sometimes get some films that the studios seem to be just trying to get a quick summer audience on a movie meant for the kid crowd. Enter “Step Up” coming out in early August.

The story isn’t anything new. Dude on the “wrong” side of the tracks, with lots of potential to be more than he can be, finds himself enamored with a girl from the other side of the tracks. This one is about dancing, and the dude has street dancing smarts, the girl has classical dancing smarts, and if they merge the two together, they can both be stars.

Pretty much that is all you need to know about this movie because the formula seems familiar, just with different people. It’s the end of the summer, and we always like to see the person from the “other” side of the tracks find their meaning in life, and get the girl. My guess, he gets them both.

The movie looks a little too generic for me to have high on my “Must See” list, so I probably won’t head out to see it, but it does look like an okay “he’s a rebel, she’s not, and they get together” kind of movie.

That’s it for this preview! I’m The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!!
