Lethal Weapon 4
A Movie Review

MPAA Rated - R

It's 2:08 Long

A Review by
Stu Gotz
A psycho touting napalm! A gas tanker truck blowing up! A boat sinking amid a shark! A boat filled with illegal Chinese refugees! Counterfeit Yen! A car being run off the highway, then driving through an office building, and then jumping back onto the highway! Dudes getting shot and run over by semi's! Chinese gangsters that make the Mob look like Boy Scouts! Laughing gas and dental drills! Rene Russo kicking ass in a pregnant state! Whew... Where does it end? "Lethal Weapon 4" has so much, and sure it's unbelievable, but aren't most action movies? I could tell you about the movie's story line, but does it really matter? It's a "Lethal Weapon" movie and from the past episodes you know there is gonna be major mayhem and ass-kicking going on. That, and oh yeah, there are a lot of great laughs by way of Martin Riggs' (Mel Gibson) twisted humor, Leo Getz' (Joe Pesci) obnoxiousness, and Lee Butters' (Chris Rock) black, rage attitude.

To say this is the best "Lethal Weapon" movie yet would not be a stretch because it just depends on what you like. The first installment was definitely the most serious while numbers two and three brought out a lot more humor and chemistry between all the characters. In its forth re-hash the "Lethal Weapon" story has fine-tuned all its components. The action is non-stop and so are the laughs, so much so that it was a good thing The Dude on the Right had a few spaces between us because I nearly pissed my pants. All that being said I give "Lethal Weapon 4" 4 ½ stars out of 5. It was a kick-ass movie and I'm Stu Gotz. 'Nuff said!
