Ted Nugent
A Concert Review

A Review and Photos by

A campfire was the only light for the hunter, Ted Nugent, as he prepared himself for the challenge that would await. Armed with his American made weapon, he stood poised with his two fellow hunters and waited until the time was right for the hunt to begin. As the howls of the animals called him out, he was patient, for he knew that this hunt would be no "Free for All." No, the time had to be right for the chase to begin, and even though the gray hairs had begun to infiltrate his long hair and beard, he knew he could still play the shit out of his weapon, even as thoughts of "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" tried to distract him.

Finally, daylight broke, and the screaming energy began. It was Ted and his two trusty sidekicks against the world, a world filled with young kids looking for answers in confused, chord-driven angry

music, a world that sucks but he dreamed that "America sucks a whole lot less," a world of assholes running the countries (the hunter tells himself that those assholes can just "Kiss My Ass"), and a world that maybe would be a whole lot better if it were just a few "Good Friends and a Bottle of Wine." But there was no time to be "Paralyzed" in this "Dog Eat Dog" world. No, the hunter just wanted to rock the fuckin' brains out of the hunted, and all was going well… until…

Daylight was beginning to fade, and this hunter knew that during the nighttime the roles can quickly become reversed. It was time to start the campfire and get ready for tomorrow. Donning his "Ted Nugent United Sportsman of America" sleeping gear, the night was calm, the fire bright, but lurking in

the distance would be a challenge to keep the hunter awake and at his best throughout the night, for in the distance was a legend, a bear, and not just any bear. No, this was "Fred Bear." A friend, but only if the hunter would let him, and the fire crackled with every step Fred took, almost listening to the spirit, and flaring with every step. Could he trust Fred this night, or would he wind up in a "Stranglehold?" He knew the dangers of the wild, but also knew the beauty of the wild, and knew that together as one, he could lay down his weapon and let its sound fade into the night. And sleep took over, for just a little while.

His final day, the spirit of the wild was calling, and the hunter had one more chance for the kill. But he knew he needed some help, and his help would come in the form of a mystical head-dress, one handed down from the ages, from the Indians who once lived off the land, not owning it, but respecting it, and in search for the "Great White Buffalo" to guide them. The hunter had one last chance, and as trusty as his powered weapon had been through the years, it was time for the bow

and arrow. The shot was there, he took it, and in an instant the hunt was over. The hunter had just enough, not letting anything go to waste, and as the spirits of the wild tried to call him back one last time, daylight came, and it was time for the hunter to head home to his family, to share with them the fruits of the hunt, and wait until the next time when necessity called him back, to the place where he belonged.

Well, how's that for a different kind of Ted Nugent review. Quite honestly, I didn't know what to say that I hadn't said in previous reviews, so I though I would throw a different twist. I will say this, though: Ted can still play the shit out of a guitar, and this show was no different that the many I have seen. He loves his fans, his fans love him, and it always shows every time Ted hits the stage. The only problem, and I guess not really a big problem, is that Ted hasn't put out anything new in a while. But you know, even with every classic he pulls out of the music drawer, Ted knows what rock and roll is about, and blasts through it for every show. I guess that's all that needs to be said.

TWO HUGE THUMBS UP for Ted Nugent. Always, consistently, a great show.

That's it for this one, I'm The Dude on the Right! L8R!!
